Right! Skip Information Technology and go straight into the trades. 5 years into IT and no benefits, no pension, not even $50,000 a year. Just loads of overtime and every weekend on call.

gonna be honest, you were doing something wrong if you were a qualified IT graduate and worked it for 5 years and weren't making 50k+...

I mean, I'm an industrial electrician and put lots of overtime as well. If you're in IT it seems you went the wrong way. There are bunch of IT certifications that'll land you big$$$
