Oh, a live performance instead of the music video. Ok, I have to say one thing here. The lyrics are actually not about romantic relationships, they are more disguised as such. It's a criticism of the music industry, specifically the Korean idol music industry - these are the puppet masters controlling their artists. Now, the music video is chock full of symbolism - like, really a lot - and if you watch that video and understand what the symbolism is about, then you get the message as I mentioned - XG, by standing together, overcome the puppet masters and take their fates into their own hands.

The nerve to say women in the states act 'too masculine' as if men aren't partially the reason for that lol! The majority of men have not been acting like 'men' as of late, resulting in women having to play both roles.
Puppet show is about role reversals between not only women and men but societal roles between the artists and the industry, specifically the K-pop Industry. The Artists are usually the puppets but without them the Industry is nothing so in a way the Artists can pull on some of the strings too the same way Women have the empowerment in their relationship to their Men and vice versa.
