Awww, this was the very first video of TheJWittz's I watched, I think 6P brought me here, what a fun two years it has been, I wish competitive PTCG still inspired Josh to make videos like this.
@TheJWittz o my god this is going to suck unless they do somthing soon, JWittz i do want to thank you for everything you do i only been play for a year now and your video's have helped me soo much this past weekend i made top 8 and i truly think your video's help me do it so thank you so much
Just a small note: If you are forced to proxy, then at least keep 1 copy of the 'right' cardnext to the game, so you can show the real card when you play the proxy. For people who don't know the cards you're proxying, this can be useful.
You didn't account for Mulligans. From what I could tell, you run 15 Basic Pokemon (4 Sableye, 3 Crobat G, 3 Uxie, 4 Unown R, 1 Unown Q). Because of this, you won't draw a basic in your starting hand 11.75% of your games. Due to Mulligans, you'll actually be able to start a Sableye 45.27% of your games. You autowin 72.64% of your games. Possibly not a big enough difference to worry about in this situation but if you only ran 4 Sableye and no other basics, you'd end up starting it 100% of your games instead of the 40% you stated.
According to my calculations, you will start with Sableye 50.82%. Here is my logic: Odds of drawing Sableye in 1st card is 4/60 => 6.67% *Odds of drawing Sableye in 2nd card is 4/59 => 6.78% *...3rd card is 4/58 => 6.90% *...4thcard is 4/57 => 7.02% *...5th card is 4/56 => 7.14% *...6th card is 4/55 => 7.27% *...7th card is 4/54 => 7.41% * = assuming you don't have Sableye yet so if they play spiritomb, you win 37.5% but you made your point clear in my opinion... thanks JWittz!
Just be careful of sprays I guess. It's sad that most Stage 2 decks won't really stand a chance in the format anymore, except ones that use Spiritomb. Great vid. I enjoyed the Shupet one :)
@TheWolfWarrior25 Yeah, I know. And I dunno why they did that so soon either. So the solutions on the table are either ban Sableye, tweak the rules or a midseason rotation. Neither of those choices are without a downside.
@TheJWittz So true. I picked up two of the world champ decks just to see if I wanted to invest money into the game, pokemon players have soo many cards that let them add instantly from deck to hand. It's crazy fast compared to most if not all yugioh decks.
Very nice strategy! Played the game back in Jr. High and was ranked in the top 10 in my state! The game sure has changed! Great job! Words of advice: 1.) Keep the videos shorter, more people will watch them. 2.) Explain each card's ability better. For many of us, we aren't familiar with the cards.
I definitely support this petition to get Play! Pokemon to do their jobs and provide a reasonably playable format. It would also be nice to see a consistent and complete ruleset, but that's another debate for another day. As I said above about math, I don't feel like doing procedural proofs in youtube comments either. :p
Try this for test your own statistics: 1.Go to Excel if you run Windows 2.Go to Formulas>More Functions>Statistics>DIST.HIPERGEOM 3.Put from up to botton 1;7;4;60(put false on logic if needed) 4.1 is the number of the card that you want. 8 Is the number of cards in your hand(With Draw) 4 is the nuber of copies in this case 60 is the number of card in the deck 6.Use Enter on the formula. 5.Take the result and multiply by 100 boom here goes the dinamite(LOL) you have now the probabilty.
@MachSpeedRocket Assuming in his opening hand of seven cards, with three pokemon in it, he HAD a spray, AND he still hit triple tails on super scoop ups, etc. Yes, it gives him another chance, but it's not actually a huge statistical effect. I don't feel like doing all the math in a youtube comment, but suffice it to say it's in the realm of 8%.
@TheJWittz Well you but what I meant is I was thinking you were gonna flash bite it just enough times to be able to KO it with over confident and then go after ambipom or the other garchomp. lol
I played my Gyarados deck at league this past saturday, WITHOUT Sableye, and even just from how abusive the current Gyarados build is, it's so stupid an not fun. But it's not even safe if they change it RR on since even though SP loses out on its engine, Arceus becomes an explosive deck without Machamp in the format or disruption to oppose it since it runs its own exclusive engine. The only real format that would be sane at all is HGSS on, and that goes against the decision made last year.
@jackywho13 1.) yes 2.) yes however, if your opponent has a powerspray (usually 3 in a deck) and 3 SP pokemon in their starting hand, they're really lucky. Even if they go 1st and get a Cyrus off, the odds of 3 sp pokemon and a power spray are still low, but 1 power spray doesn't really even cripple the deck, just slows it down a tad.
@TheJWittz Ya, it would work the same lets say if you flashbit ambipom to death and then flash bit the active and seekered up the other garchomp. Haha That's just the experience I've had against uxie donk was that the always damaged my bench first so I assumed that that's what you were going to do here haha
@PkMnTrainerAzZona He said he ran 1 special dark, and from what I saw, 3 bats(?). If he starts with all 3 of those (20% chance or some shit like that) then so be it, but I have a much higher chace to start with a tomb+any other basic. Also, if you are going for the donk, you aren't playing collector, simple as that.
@TheWolfWarrior25 Well, I'm too keen on the Yugioh format. All I know is that they ban and limit cards as opposed to rotating sets. And I heard recently that there aren't any definitive decks like LuxChomp that win most of the time.
The only card that Yu-Gi-Oh! ever had that worked close to how SableDonk worked, wasn't that Yata-Garasu only that it focused on hand discard to win a.k.a. "Yata Lock"? I remember how ridiculous that deck was back in the day especially with Delinquent Duo which was also banned.
Beymetal is wrong, the tournament legal cards are from Black And White Base set to Plasma Storm, if you want to see some updated content, go to TheTopCut channel they have pooka battling Jwittz lol. The rotations are made to keep the game healthy, and money obv.
Hey Jwittz, love the deck and im kinda new to Pokemon TCG so i have little cards but i would like to make a deck like yours so if you could leave a deck list or some sort of info on your decks that would be awesome! ! LIKE SO JWITTZ WILL SEE !
@Phrid that isnt an auto win for you, if he gets sableye, the dark energy, and a crobat (and uxies to even further increase this chance) he can kill Tomb and you will have to get another one out on your first turn or if the opponent does run collector, regice and Unown dark/azelf, he can impersonate for the pokemon he needs to either kill tomb next turn (you need a second one or a turn on plume) and then he will just kill you from there
JWittz two things: 1) I completely agree with you. These new rules are out of hand and should be changed. I would suggest that the first player can play trainers,stadiums, supporters, etc. but cannot attack. You also mentioned this rule before in your previous video about "Donk-Less" formats, so it should workout well. 2) Those card sleeves are AMAZING!!! Where did you get them from? Please respond.
man i remember when starting with 80 hp pokemon was good now people start with 3 180 hp pokemon t1 :P pokemon needs to fix the power curve. I am hopping they fix this in x and y cards and make it like diamond and pearl again and have lvl x pokemon and lvl y pokemon
@LuigisBestBuddy I wasn't into Pokemon back then. I knew that only 2 cards were banned and Sneasel was one of them. Did they ban Slowking because he was too powerful.
Power Spray isn't too disruptive. It's very unlikely that one would open 3 SP Pokemon and a Power Spray in a 7 card hand, as opening 3 basic SPs is already unlikely. Furthermore, if one did have such an open, one extra heads on a Super Scoop Up allows the Set-Up to continue uninterrupted, and we all saw the plethora of SSUs, Junk Arms, Dual Balls being used and granting access to the entire deck. If SP goes first, it may lose anyway, as it would require benching 4 basics or multiple sprays.
@JWittz How do you usually get the good cards you need for decks, by trading or buying them? I do hear you say you barrow many cards from your friends for your tournament decks.
Not really, yeah you can get donked more often but with Sabledonk it did require slightly more skill than it does now to donk, you need to know what to keep and etc. etc. etc.
@MachSpeedRocket because he deserves to have to have a power spray in his hand and 3 SP pokemon on his bench on the set up to be able to survive first turn before he can draw or play a supporter?
set a time for each turn? Having sitting there for approx 10-15 minutes seeing opponent draw out everything plus all those in between I would automatically scoop seeing someone eating up time frame .. ZZ
I am on board for signing that petition, I think the main target for this game (being the kids) are going to be hurt the most. Many kids go and play their favorite pokemon in the decks they run. now when they play at nationals the decks they choose will lose 70% of the time? thats just wrong and there will be lots a kids in the lower devisions that may not handle being donked three to four times out of their eight or nine rounds very well. I'm pretty sure parents will be just as upset.
This really is just insane. But shouldn't you be playing a collector or two? VS Spiritomb it should be awesome. I'm almost 100% sure that I'll play this for nats. I acctually liked the fact that they changed the rules because now I can play something else than Luxchomp without investing tons of money :P
More proof that this deck is vile and the format needs a fix. On the plus side, my Unown R and Dusk Balls are now awesome trade fodder. But seriously, I think that if you want to play donk decks, then play them in Unlimited, where the format is more conducive for high speed decks like these. I'm praying for another Neo-Genesis play from Pokemon and a mid-season rotation, but I'm not putting too much into it. Time to build fun decks and play the little kids at league for points...
@TheWolfWarrior25 And since Japan isnt even doing qualifiers, or maybe not even entering worlds, that should be less reason to follow those rules to the key.
pretty sure you're suppose to DRawer/ drawer into seeker/ drawer when comboing off at 14:30. played shuppet donk for the entirety of last season and it feels like playing prosbloom

Sableye in the sky~ He's really overeager so your luxchomp just might die! Sableye in the sky~ He's gonna sweep your whole bench cause he's speedy as a fly! Amazing deck analysis; props to your understanding of the game.
I'm gonna stencil a "Stop Sableye" t-shirt.
I would gladly send you one when I'm finished.
Awww, this was the very first video of TheJWittz's I watched, I think 6P brought me here, what a fun two years it has been, I wish competitive PTCG still inspired Josh to make videos like this.
It's the Exodia of Pokemon: SABLEYE....OVERCONFIDENCE!!!
i started out watching his videos not knowing what he's talking about but now i understand every 10th word :)
@TheJWittz o my god this is going to suck unless they do somthing soon, JWittz i do want to thank you for everything you do i only been play for a year now and your video's have helped me soo much this past weekend i made top 8 and i truly think your video's help me do it so thank you so much

Here is my logic:
Odds of drawing Sableye in 1st card is 4/60 => 6.67%
*Odds of drawing Sableye in 2nd card is 4/59 => 6.78%
*...3rd card is 4/58 => 6.90%
*...4thcard is 4/57 => 7.02%
*...5th card is 4/56 => 7.14%
*...6th card is 4/55 => 7.27%
*...7th card is 4/54 => 7.41%
* = assuming you don't have Sableye yet
so if they play spiritomb, you win 37.5% but you made your point clear in my opinion...
thanks JWittz!
That was a great video and really informative. It's solved all my questions about sablye donk.
It's just a shame that the format is so broken......
+TheJWittz Imagine this deck with Lysandre's Trump Card and VS Seeker.
Lol Vs Seeker existed back then. It wasnt used much because it was never needed.
holy cow! i just noticed how well you would do an Ernie impression
good thing not bad
Seeker makes your opponent pick up a benched pokemon, so he only needed to deal at least 160 damage, which he did and then some.
This had the same feel as playing legacy format in MTG
Josh, u definitely desreve this word
''Magician''.
Just be careful of sprays I guess.
It's sad that most Stage 2 decks won't really stand a chance in the format anymore, except ones that use Spiritomb.
Great vid. I enjoyed the Shupet one :)

Andddddd you got power sprayed on that first Uxie drop. GG.
@pokemonbobby7 Uxie is from Legends Awakened. Crobat G is from Platinum.
@zaGlaceon I agree, but even if he had 3 or 4 sprays he still would have hit with Flash Bite 8 or 9 times and still would have Setup 3 or 4 times.
I definitely support this petition to get Play! Pokemon to do their jobs and provide a reasonably playable format. It would also be nice to see a consistent and complete ruleset, but that's another debate for another day. 60 is the number of card in the deck
6.Use Enter on the formula.
5.Take the result and multiply by 100 boom here goes the dinamite(LOL) you have now the probabilty.
@chinimasse The reason he can directly play Crobat is because it is an SP Pokemon which are evolved Pokemon which can be played as a basic
those are some sick card sleeves!!!!!!! =D
@MachSpeedRocket Assuming in his opening hand of seven cards, with three pokemon in it, he HAD a spray, AND he still hit triple tails on super scoop ups, etc. Yes, it gives him another chance, but it's not actually a huge statistical effect. @pokemonbobby7 uxie is from LA (legends awaken) and Crobat G is from Plt
@jackywho13

2.) yes

@xixemptyxix No, because Overconfident activates before Ghastly is able to attack. Good question though.
I have such bad memories of that deck.

@TheJWittz Gravekeeper's in Yu-gi-oh donks ppl with one card: Royal Tribute
JWittz two things:

@SFK301 Because Nintendo/TPCi didn't ban it. WotC did. Nintendo hasn't ever had a ban list.
Did the other guy even get his first turn?
Not really, yeah you can get donked more often but with Sabledonk it did require slightly more skill than it does now to donk, you need to know what to keep and etc. etc. etc.

the best part of the whole vid was those sleeves
HGSS-on! PLS COME SOONER!
@Rohert08 Unown r just keep up the drawing and with pokemon rescue you can get back unown r and do it again.
You got the same sleeves as me :D
Also, if you have no victory medal whats a good replacement
set a time for each turn? Having sitting there for approx 10-15 minutes seeing opponent draw out everything plus all those in between I would automatically scoop seeing someone eating up time frame .. ZZ

What happens , if both player starts with sableye ?? witch player beginns ??
Since you run expert belt and special dark you only needed to flash bite garchomp 3 times instead of 4
I use the same grip when i write, that's freaky!
Can you make a deck build of this? Of your deck that you made? I wanna try to make the perfect counter deck against this
This really is just insane. But shouldn't you be playing a collector or two? VS Spiritomb it should be awesome. I'm almost 100% sure that I'll play this for nats. I acctually liked the fact that they changed the rules because now I can play something else than Luxchomp without investing tons of money :P
Sorry forgot to metion in my last post can't this deck be easily stopped with a spiritomb lead?
if u havent yet please do a pokemon yellow walkthrough please
I... think I'll stay in Theme Decks if that's what's waiting in the grownup formats.
TheOnePabb Not anymore; this format was over 4 years ago.
I don't want it to get rotated out :( this sounds like a really fun deck)
Sorry but it was rotated out 3 years ago
Just wondering, how do you keep your camera so stable above the play area? Do you have some sort of rig or tripod?
@TheWolfWarrior25 And since Japan isnt even doing qualifiers, or maybe not even entering worlds, that should be less reason to follow those rules to the key.
HOLY MOLY MACARONI!!
I think your opponent sprayed the first Flash Bite.
pretty sure you're suppose to DRawer/ drawer into seeker/ drawer when comboing off at 14:30. played shuppet donk for the entirety of last season and it feels like playing prosbloom
can u make a deck list for this deck ?
He draws his entire deck just watch and note lol
Ive got those sleaves too =D
no
coz sableye's pokebody make's u start 1st
ALWAYS
Can i have the card list of that deck???
Vilegar has Ghastly does this factor in if all
There's one thing about watching many of your videos that really confuses me... how are you able to put down a pokemon that's an evolved pokemon? Don't you have to put down zubat > golbat > crobat?? I recently started playing TCGO and i've never seen anyone do that.
PS: I want to buy a booster box that will be legal when the rotation is done and i'm a starter. Which one would you recommend? :) I have a green tornado deck right now with some extra B/W cards. TY mister pokemaster! :D
Hi I am new to competetive tcg pokemon.....Why do you have cards turned around in you deck?
If Sabelye is so broken. Why dont they just ban it like Sneasel back with the the old Gold/Silver cards?
2questions:
1) can the opponent play pokespray on turn 1?
2) if he can, can't he pokespray ur setup?
@TheWolfWarrior25 My point exactly.
@ortomy you're*
JWittz, For accurate statistics on opening starts type your deck into pokepedia..net and go to analyze. For what I think is your build a chance to start sableye in a non-mulligan hand is actually 45%.
ok so i just got back into pokemon and somehow i get what he is saying and doing O_O? Ok cool just wish i had some good new cards and more energy to make more decks since i got the starter deck for kyurem white and got all the new tins and got a mew ex which i think is cool since i loved mew from the first movie when i was 4 or 5 i cnt remember but anyways ya i got 3 white kyurems got a good set up with team p. weezing and yep got some other cards too so i can get ready but still i would loselol
can I buy somewehre the prof-it table ?
yeah. only black and white on since dragons exalted, i think.
60 cards
That was 1 year ago.
What if the guy you're versing hase 4 power spray in there hand
But the SP player could have had a spray to spray the first Uxie, making it harder.
Sableye in the sky~
He's really overeager so your luxchomp just might die!
Sableye in the sky~
He's gonna sweep your whole bench cause he's speedy as a fly!
Being serious, card is far too overpowered. I've said this quite a few times now, but I really don't think Pokemon International was paying much attention to us before they made the rule changes. The community discussed this for quite a while now, so its a rather huge disappointment.
