The only recommendation was surgery to correct walk and range of motion. The compression socks healed the painful callus after 2-3 months.
I’ve lost count of the number of times surgery or medicine was recommended instead of simple fixes that worked. Something is seriously wrong with our medical system.
@@whosenameisitanyway surgery was needed to remove a lot of bone spurs that had grown on the talus and tibia in the ankle joint after a 2003 accident that severely shattered my talus and many foot bones. My knee didn't show any issues after the ligaments healed and I went on to play football in college. 40years later ...my ankle began to swell. Doctors thought that it was a heart condition, so I had xrays, doppler tests and cat-scans, which showed that there was no problem with my heart. Finally a older Dr. comes into the exam room a week later with my medical folder in is hand and he says to me ..."have you ever had a knee injury playing sports?" In a flash it all came back to me and I said.." Yes..is that what this is"?? He said "absolutely". You mentioned not to wear them if you have neuropathy. I have chronic Chemo-induced neuropathy from toes to knees. I have lost my balance as I can't feel the ground beneath my feet. I have to physically look where I am putting my feet. I am unable to take pain killers or anti-inflammatories. I have had PEs twice and am on thinners for life. I have Chronic Exertion Compartment Syndrome in all 8 compartments of my calves. I had the surgery in 2013. I have gradually gotten all the pain back...the compression stockings do help. I recently started wearing the footless ones to sleep at night and I notice a big difference in my pain in the morning.. I hate living with this pain, but these do help.
My dad had swollen foot a while back and I got him compression socks but a size bigger (in case he's not used to it first time wearing it) the swell went away after two days. It works.
Bob and Brad, there is an easier way to put them on. Roll the top down, turning the sock inside out until you get to the heel pocket. Hold the inside of the heel pocket so it is now at the top. The foot part is still right side out, but the leg part is now inside out hanging over the foot part. Now while still holding the heel pocket, put the foot part on your foot. Then roll the rest of the sock up over your leg. You don't need that contraption which I think they call a donner.
Thanks. I wore them years ago. I had severe pain in both legs. They helped some. I did want to mention that I wore them one night and fell asleep. My legs didn’t feel too good halfway thru the night. I am not an expert but I learned to not put them on too long at a time in the day. My leg pain eventually went away. Years later I am feeling leg pain again so I am once again searching for good compression stockings.
Been using them a lot since the late '90s when my surgeon recommended them. The doctors gave me limitations on when and how long to wear them, though, so you definitely need to check with your doctor and any of your specialists. I find they really benefit me the most when I'm sitting at my computer for long periods during the day.
Just went to the doctor yesterday and was told I have venous insufficiency on my right leg. Swelling in my right leg/ankle/foot. nothing serious but I do have pain when first walking and I’m pretty sure it’s cramps because once I sit down or rest for a second. I get back up and can walk perfectly fine. Some days I have pain and one time I had no pain at all for a while. Now I know why and my doctor said wear compression socks for as long as I can and it should eventually go away. I used to be on my feet a lot too. I’m going to try and lose weight as well cause I feel it contributes to this.
Thanks for this. I stand for long periods and my legs and ankles ache so bad by the end of my shift I can barely walk. I got some 20-30 compression socks and the pain is significantly less. Thanks for this info. Y’all are 😂 I love your videos!
Putting on compression sock: Put sock over entire arm with finger tips🖐 touching toe area. Grab sock sleeve and pull back until only hand inside sock. Remove sock from hand and put foot inside. Now with only foot inside grab sock sleeve and pull over entire leg. Done
My mother died after a trip flying to Europe. She died of a blood vessel 8 hrs after flying. Had she had compression socks she probably wouldn’t have died. We had no idea this can happen.
Wow.. i had no idea that could happen. You probably just saved my mother’s life. I dont think ill have her flying out to see me now that i know about that risk but if she insists ill get her to wear the socks. Thank you for sharing.
So very sorry to hear about your mother. We have a friend, a young man in his 40's who went on a long flight to Japan and two weeks later had a stroke. He's functioning, but will always have some effect from it. Something everyone should be aware of.
Wish I had heard this before I had vein problems. It's a GOOD preventative measure if you are on your feet a lot. I'm an electrician and developed problems with the valves in my veins and mild swelling.
Back in the day when we wore L'Eggs support hose (tight style of panty hose) I guess they were the same concept. They sure made your legs feel better when you had a job where you stood or walked a lot!
I would rather see your report on them "after" rather than "before" a couple days of personal use. The tourniquet effect can be exasperating, especially at an open toe transition. Quite hard to get a size not too tight or loose and right length.
May I recommend you have your ankles and calves measured and then a vein specialist provide or tell you the proper sizing. The way I understand it; measurement for accurate sizing is critical to effectiveness
I buy mine on Ebay from the same store for about a decade. From the first pair of full leg stockings I took the measurements at several points on my leg as they required to find the correct size. Regarding the open toe, don't pull the opening past the wide knuckle joint in your foot. That hurts. Just let some of your toes peak out. Good luck!
Ask an older lady who wore Nylons in 50s how to Easily put them on . Turn them inside out . push toe of sock in till Heel shows . put sock on now . when heel is in sock grab middle of remaining sock & pull on then grab rest sock & pull fully on . Don't Bunch it up . Easy sock on
My therapist introduced me to rubber gloves with ridges on the finger tips to pull them on over the heel and up the leg. It works and saves your nails going through and ruining your hose. Plastic bags from the store works too. Slip the bag on first, then pull the hose on over the bag until you get to or near your calf. Flip the bag over the cuff and pull up and over the hose moving downward and slip off ( if toe is enclosed cut a hole in bottom of bag before putting it on ). If sock is open toe, slip the bag on without cutting bottom off and slide hose on above the ankle and then pull bag out through toe opening. I have had success with all three methods. I only use gloves when I run out of bags or I am out and need to smooth the crinkles out.
Contrary to what they say, I have diabetic neuropathy and some vascular issues that cause swelling...I wear 20-30 mmhg compression knee socks and they work wonderfully. Swelling has gone down to almost normal...this was recommended by my physical therapist and I am sticking to what she says...lymphoedema conditions demand compression socks...I am not sure who these guys are talking to for advice on medical conditions. Just stating this because I am a patient and it works very efficiently, regardless of what Bob and Brad say about not wearing them with my conditions.
I just bought them for the first time last week. I've had swelling in my ankles since I was about 25. At the time the doctor just said take a diuretic and elevate my legs. All of my relaxation time is with my legs elevated. Now at 46 I can't be up for more than a few hours without the swelling setting in. So, I think it's about time for the socks. When I first wore them I felt dizzy and short of breath. The next day was better. But my ankles didn't swell. So, I'll keep trying to get used to them.
I've had swelling of the ankles for years but the closed toe compression socks work a treat. Just make sure you have the right weight for your problem. I had to move to class 2 and they really keep the swelling down. If they don't it probably means time to move up a weight.
@@taniayager3361 Awesome! I think mine are class 2. And so far they are helping a lot. I don't wear them all the time. Only if I'm going to be up for a while. And definitely if I am going to sit at my desk at all. They don't completely prevent swelling when I have to be at my desk for a few hours, but they dramatically reduce it. Same with running errands for a few hours. It seems like once the swelling sets in really badly it doesn't take much at all for it to come flooding back even if I temporarily got rid of it. But if I wear the compression socks before sitting or standing for a while it prevents the swelling from getting out of hand. Which seems to keep it from happening as easily. Anyway, I'm liking them a lot so far. And I'm glad yours seem to help you, too. 👍
@@virglibrsaglove I have a standing desk I work at. Just standing there even wearing compression socks isn't always enough. So I tend to exercise periodically in front of my desk so that will help keep the swelling down it doesn't eliminate the swelling entirely but it is much better with them on!
@@taniayager3361 Good suggestions, thank you! I have 2 desks that I work at from home, plus my couch, depending on what I'm doing. The couch I use for online work and have my legs elevated with my feet sock-free and usually moving. At one desk I use a bench, which is not the greatest option for me, though it's better than a chair. At the other desk I sit on an exercise ball. This makes it easier to stretch my back when I reach for tools, etc and helps to strengthen my core. And I frequently take bounce breaks which helps my muscles to not cramp up. The balance ball also keeps pressure off the backs of my legs which is essential if I'm sitting. (The bench does, too.) And I wear the compression socks anytime I am working at either desk. I think I'll get a second exercise ball for the desk that I currently use the bench for, too. (That one is higher than the other desk, so it needs a bigger or more inflated ball.) I completely agree that moving our muscles throughout the day definitely helps. And I also need the compression socks in addition. 👍
@@taniayager3361 Update: I just now placed an order for a second exercise ball. (On sale - woo, hoo!) Now I can use the less inflated one at the low desk and the more inflated one at the higher desk. And I'll take frequent bounce breaks at either desk I'm working at. Plus wear the socks, of course. Thanks for the reminder that we need to move! 🤗
I been driving trucks for 22 years. I'm obese.. I sit 8 hours a day driving. Recently my ankles and feet have started swelling so bad I can't even wear shoes while I work. I'm planning to try these socks.
Walking on concrete 8 hrs a day made my legs ache... I'd moved inside the Post Office from being a letter carrier & changed to sneakers rather than the Rock Port walker shoes or boots. Changed back & the aching legs went away. That was when I was in my late forties & I didn't know about compression stockings. I have worn compression stockings when I've flown since then.
As a part-time flex letter carrier I was guaranteed 25 hours a week. Yet I wasn't given the option of turning down hours so for 9 years I averaged over 60 hours a week working 13 days before having a day off quite consistently. Good footwear & walking on a lot of grass while cutting lawns for the quickest route kept my legs from aching once I got over the initial couple of weeks.
Due to peripheral neuropathy, some diabetic patients feel cold effect on the feet specially when they sleep under the fan in summer. In such case they hv to wear Socks to lessen the effects. Are there some exercises or other solutions for this?
I just bought some because I'm having a bit of OCD that makes me stand a long time and getting spider veins as a result, but the ones I got are so tight that they're cutting into my leg! I even sized up And you're right they're so hard to put on I feel like I'm damaging myself just putting them on! I don't know if you have already I'll have to check, but if you haven't yet, a video on the difference between below the knee, over the knee and up to the thigh compression socks would be awesome!
I have Chronic Venous Insufficiency and started wearing 20-30 mmHG compression socks as my doctor recommended. After about a year my toes started going numb. Tried the toeless socks to take some pressure off, toes still went numb. Found out my foot had developed Morton's Neuroma. I never imagined toe numbness, Morton's Neuroma and nerve damage could be caused by compression socks, but it seems that might be the case. I switched to the lower grade, mild compression 8-15 mmHg. I don't know if that low grade will help my CVI, but it is relieving the numbness in my toes.
I wanted to add to I do get extremely bad headaches I do have to take medication for them luckily they help a lot I still get a few though just appreciate it if you get back with me and let me know anything you know about your guyses so like I said it's the first time I've ever seen you thank you

I wear compression socks daily because I'm on my feet all day which causes major leg pain. A few months ago I threw my back out and putting on the compression socks became one of my biggest daily challenges! That and tying my shoes.
When RLS is bad (restless legs syndrome), I usually have to strap on a brace from an old ankle injury on one foot, the boot I used for plantar fasciitis on the other, and pull synthetic men’s socks I cut the toe out of, up over knees. Dunno why but compression really helps with RLS. I also have a weighted blanket.
I’m curious as to why you wouldn’t wear compression socks with peripheral neuropathy? Every vascular dr. I’ve seen says to wear them for that condition. Interesting
I have severe cramping in my toes and leg.. just one. Should I still wear on both legs? I also get numbness in the same leg when I walk just a short distance...

as a retired flight attendant, lol, try walking around on an airplane! They would think you are up to something tell you to take your seat! This is why after 30 years I decided to quit. I was no longer the job I signed up for and you can have fun with the passengers like in the good ole days. Just standing in the galley talking to a passenger if verboten. Glad I ran across this video to remind me how helpful the compression sock are and yes, wear them when you fly, period!
I can't stand compression socks. I just do the calf raise exercise slowly and carefully touch my heals to the floor with a little force so that it helps circulation in my calf. It's also good for my bones because it's considered a weight-bearing exercise. It's part of the QiGong Eight Pieces of Brocade. It temporarily reduces the varicose vein behind my left knee better than anything (although elevating my legs on a wedge pillow also helps). Compression socks are a misery to put on and to take off as well as to wear.

Been wearing them since my ankle sprain last year. Helps my ankle stop swelling since on my feet all day.
I drive a lot so these are a miracle to me. I’m even able to move my hips and open my left hip for the first time in ages.
Been using them a lot since the late '90s when my surgeon recommended them. The doctors gave me limitations on when and how long to wear them, though, so you definitely need to check with your doctor and any of your specialists. I find they really benefit me the most when I'm sitting at my computer for long periods during the day.
How long are you supposed to wear them before you should remove them?
How long should you wear them?

✌💗 Thank you Bob and Brad!
Done
I have venous insufficiency in my left leg. These help bring the swelling down and relieve tired feeling. I wear them on both legs.
Easiest way to put them on is to have them rolled down, so that all one has to do is rolle them up from the middle of the foot.
Wow, you guys cover everything❣️ Thank you for this as I have been wondering about them. Love your knees❤️❤️
My mother died after a trip flying to Europe. She died of a blood vessel 8 hrs after flying. Had she had compression socks she probably wouldn’t have died. We had no idea this can happen.
I'm so sorry
Wow.. i had no idea that could happen.
So sorry for your loss.
Ashley, Look up DVT. That’s what it could be.
Thanks so much I just starting wearing these compression socks and the both of you answered the questions that I needed to know.
Sheer Energy, they felt good on the legs but tight on the waist
Golfer, Arnold Palmer, would wear pantyhose, on cold days to stay warm and still have full movement.
Good luck!
They make a difference
but by the time I wrestle them on I've had my morning work out. if you put them on in bed before getting up, its easier.
Easy sock on
@@flowrob6861 ohhh, I'm going to have to try this! Thanks for the tip.
I wear compression socks at night when I get restless legs and feet. They really help. And there are a lot of bright and colorful styles, too.
I've had RLS my whole life...I will try this!
@@BearlyVT a weighted blanket can help too
Hey you guys you helped me out with some shoulder pain. Thanks! In the pandemic, it's hard to get help so I really appreciate you.
Pretty sure Bob was having a series of mini strokes throughout that video 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love these guys!
Thank you Bob And Brad!! I love ❤️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ your advice 💜❤️🧡💛💚💙💚💚💚💚💙💙💙💙
I am a high school sprinter in track and I am getting shin splints. Will compression socks help me?
I have chronic venous insufficiency and compression socks help me a lot. Wouldn't recommend anything lower than 20-30mm
I wear compression hose that have a zipper and.they are easier to put on than the ones without a zipper

You are very welcome!
These guys helped me get rid of dizziness, n sciatic n now this
Walking on concrete 8 hrs a day made my legs ache...
I prefer aZengear compression socks and calf sleeves. I use their sleeves for running and socks for air travel.
Awesome gentlemen! Thanks so much 😊💕👍
Due to peripheral neuropathy, some diabetic patients feel cold effect on the feet specially when they sleep under the fan in summer. In such case they hv to wear Socks to lessen the effects.
Are there some exercises or other solutions for this?
I'm starting to wear compression socks but I see my dad wear them all the time
I just bought some because I'm having a bit of OCD that makes me stand a long time and getting spider veins as a result, but the ones I got are so tight that they're cutting into my leg! I even sized up
And you're right they're so hard to put on I feel like I'm damaging myself just putting them on!
I don't know if you have already I'll have to check,
but if you haven't yet, a video on the difference between below the knee, over the knee and up to the thigh compression socks would be awesome!
I followed you guys for weeks and I'm feeling way better, what are your thoughts on compression pants, I love the socks
Interesting ty so much!
🎉Thank you!!!!❤❤❤❤
Thank you.
I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet and lower legs would you recommend wearing compression socks while sleeping
I wanted to add to I do get extremely bad headaches I do have to take medication for them luckily they help a lot I still get a few though just appreciate it if you get back with me and let me know anything you know about your guyses so like I said it's the first time I've ever seen you thank you
I'm pregnant, and on my feet all day at work. I've been hurting so badly and getting bulging veins down one of my legs. Hoping these help out. Along with more water+ less sodium.
Is there any difference between toeless or regular ones?
I'd love to hear your take on the farrow wrap, circaid wrap, and other velcro compression wraps like that for those of us who can't do socks like these.
I’m looking for compression pants, I do long distance walking, I need to be able to complete 40 km or 26.2 miles in under 7 hours & found compression socks really helped me do it in 9 hours whereas with no compression I couldn’t manage more than 21 miles. I think compression pants would be better as my whole lower half of my body would benefit from compression, can you please suggest where I can proper athletes compression pants please Bob & Brad? I am diabetic with neurophathy and I have been wearing compression foot socks with toe area cut out and stop at my ankle. Plz tell me I can continue guys🙄
I threw my low back out trying to put them on, lol! 😂
I wear compression socks daily because I'm on my feet all day which causes major leg pain. A few months ago I threw my back out and putting on the compression socks became one of my biggest daily challenges! That and tying my shoes.
MISS YOU Bob 😢
When RLS is bad (restless legs syndrome), I usually have to strap on a brace from an old ankle injury on one foot, the boot I used for plantar fasciitis on the other, and pull synthetic men’s socks I cut the toe out of, up over knees.
Dunno why but compression really helps with RLS. I also have a weighted blanket.
So will low-cut compression socks give me some benefit too?
Any down sides to them? Sleep with them? Wear when laying down? Condition veins in any bad ways?
Hi gents, can you share the study you found about soccer players and compression socks please.
Heyyy Bob and Brad! You're the two.... most..... famous !!! :-) Thanks for another great vid! :-)
Are these socks good for bus drivers
I’m curious as to why you wouldn’t wear compression socks with peripheral neuropathy? Every vascular dr. I’ve seen says to wear them for that condition. Interesting
I was wondering the same thing, everything I've ever read says compression socks are good for peripheral neuropathy.
hi, i just had arthroscopic knee surgery, Can i use a (thigh high) Compression soak?
I have severe cramping in my toes and leg.. just one. Should I still wear on both legs? I also get numbness in the same leg when I walk just a short distance...
I wonder if elasticated tubular bandage would work as compression socks are expensive!
How colorful is this skeleton 🤩 WAH!
No for cellulitis? Im wearing one now and i had/have an infection in my lower leg. Why can't I wear them?
We would recommend speaking to your doctor, they know your specific situation and what would be the reason behind you not wearing them.

I inherited my Grandmother's poor surface circulation so my surface veins do noy push the blood back up my legs. I have been using compression socks since the early 1990s. I notice when I want to wear othersicke and soon return to the compression and my feet feel better. I remember my grandmother wrapping her legs in èlastic bandages because her feet were swelled up. When I ask her, shevsaid it happens when tou get older so I now think it ran in her family.
as a retired flight attendant, lol, try walking around on an airplane!
Philippines here!
I am wearing them very helpful.
You can’t wear them with dresses either!
