Hi everyone, just to confirm, this is a homemade, John Lewis-inspired advert that I created entirely on my own for under £500. I also wrote and performed the charity single 'Send Me a Sign' to raise money for Re-engage and Friends of the Elderly. I’m absolutely blown away that the charity single is this week's number 1 in the Official UK Sales Chart and number 2 in the Big Top 40. Thank you for making this. I'm crying and can't stop. It's too beautiful, so sentimental, both sad and uplifting. This is incredible!! I sent this to people last week thinking it was the John Lewis advert! My dad died 3 years ago and my mum in June, they were married 50 years. The song is beautiful and how this has been put together is amazing. I cry every time I watch it 😢 what a beautiful thing to do for charity ❤️
The first thing I did was to buy the song, it's the least I could do even if you ripped my emotions to shreds. A beautiful song and a very touching video. Mine too. Lost dad to Alzheimer's last October & mum to the same disease in April. I was their carer for years so I feel so lost now. It's going to be a hard Christmas. Sending hugs x
Sending you love yes I grieving my daughter and grandad who was my dad in a way as my dad didn't want be part of my life. They both passed last year so second christmas doesn't seem easy either. Hence why I am going away with my other kids and other half and family who joining us in new York. So my kids can have good christmas
A brotherly hug to you Stephen. Last Christmas was the final one I spent with my Mum. She passed away 2 weeks later. Also, this coming Sunday, 10th of November, would have been her 90th birthday. So some very mixed emotions here too .
I lost my husband 20 years ago. I love the signs he sends me. One Valentines Day I received a letter addressed to him with my address. I moved to the address 7 years after his passing. It was from a bank he did not deal with about a credit card he never had. I phoned the bank and they did not have any record of such a letter being sent. I took the message to be that no matter where I go in life he knows where I am and is with me. Of course I kept the letter.
My husband passed away in May. This man reminds me of him 😢💔 The day after he passed I went with family for a walk and a robin followed us and even sat in a tree watching while I sat for a rest. This is my first Christmas without him 😢😢💔💔

We lost our 27yr old daughter Ellen 'Ellie' in July 2022, sadly Christmas has not returned to our home yet, and not sure when it will. Having been 'Mrs Christmas' previously, I now try to ignore all the Christmas build up as much as I can, I shan't ignore this beautiful advert and song though, how much we hold on to those little signs now, rainbows, white feathers and the visiting Robins. As a family, we know that one day the sparkle of Christmas will return, we know it just won't shine as bright after losing our star ✨️ sending love to all whose day can be made just by seeing a robin ❤️ xx

My dad died in May this year. We visited him Sunday, just gone and a Robin flew down and landed on his grave right there in front of about 20 of his family . There was a sign right there Xxxxx

I live on a hot island where horrible hunters shoot anything in sight so to see a real Robin one year was so exciting I got majorly excited on the bus pointing it out to my mum.
Me too thank you losing my daughter and grandad last year I still mourn I miss them both so much. I wasn't supposed have my daughter 7 years the drs said. But she outlived what they said. 7 amazing years . The other kids miss her
I too lost my Dad with prostate Cancer he also died alone due to Covid restrictions which will be 4yrs in January coming. He absolutely loved Christmas and I totally agree it will never be the same ...Ever!!! We have our wonderful memories to cherish!!!

I lost my mum 6 years ago and my dad last year. Both were so fond of Robin's as dads name is Robin and he missed mum every second just like the lovely man in the video. The scenery is just like where they lived. This video has really touched my heart so very much and I don't think I'll be able to stop watching it, it means so much. My most favourite advert of all time❤️

Yes. You are right . At my mother's funeral a robin appeared on a branch during the service. And frequently since...departed loved ones being near and watching over us. Very touching ad..thanks Sam.

It's not only older people who get lonely, but looking back to his younger days with his beautiful wife, made me think about how much hope we have when we are young, and then it cn all be apparently taken way. I was advised by a friend to have some tissues ready before i watched this video. She was so right, i am now in tears as this one realy pulls at your heart strings. If anyone doesn't cry after watching this, they must have a heart of stone.
Wow what a beautiful advert & song . The world can relate who lost someone from heartbreak , to the ones that was too stuck in their Ego or fear to make that move to tell their partner they lost how they feel & To the ones that lost someone through death ❤
I sat with my best friend as her husband died earlier this year....as we sat stunned a Robin appeared on the fence. This advert has opened the floodgates. I worked in elderly care for so many years and saw first hand the loneliness. The loneliness effects the young and middle aged as well a death can suck the life and light from your world in a instant and is so painful. I see everyone out and about attached to phones, eating in a cafe both attached to phones. We forget to talk to each other and seldom smile or say hello to folk we pass in street, sit beside on bus etc If this advert makes folk think a second to get off phone screen look around, say hello, smile or even pass time with conversation with random stranger you have no idea the effect it can have you maybe only person the other person has spoken to all week as they have no one. The ease of self service checkouts have made even the social chatter at supermarket till disappear. None of us knows what is round the corner from old to young a friendly smile a hello can make such a difference. Wow amazing advert and music.

I lost my dad in June and this will be the first Christmas without him. It will be just me and my son but we will still hang up a stocking on the tree for him. This ad just tugged at my heartstrings and made me cry…but in a good way. Simply perfect ❤
My mum past away nearly one year ago and the Robin was one of her favorite birds. She was bed ridden for the last two years of her life and used to watch a Robin come to feed every day. Love you Mum ❤

Sending you love i lost both my 7 year old daughter and grandad last June and September. And week after my grandad passed away I saw a Robin on scaffolding I know it was sign they both ok. I miss my daughter she just had seizure never woke up again. She has some her ashes with my grandad and grandmother
As a proud Scotsman I feel heartfelt with tears because I can imagine some people sadly in my street that are old and family don't bother with them, I ve taken my neighbour out for tea and coffee now and again so he doesn't feel lonely. This really hits home. 😢
That's such a kind thing to do. And the time spent with your neighbour is something you'll never regret. When/if the time comes when they no longer need your help, you'll look back and be so pleased that you were there for them when they did. I speak from experience - I've given my time to a number of people over the years, and when I look back I'm just so glad I did. And it's always a case of 'There but for the grace of God...' Our own lives can change so unexpectedly, and we might find ourselves in a position that we never dreamt we would be in. You are a great proud Scotsman!

I lost my husband suddenly on Valentine's Day, 14/02/2023. I am on my own; honestly, nobody cares about me. I still feel his presence; he advises me on what to do if the computer is playing up, etc. I will always miss him, and the advert brings tears to my eyes.

Words cannot describe how horrible it is. There's an added sadness at Christmas, and we still keep our family traditions alive for him, and our rituals to remember him. What a beautiful voice and a beautiful song!🫶 Last year, a friend of mine lost her mother and was not prepared. She would spend most of her time at the pond near her work to walk, sit, and reflect on her mom. She was so heartbroken. One day, she noticed that a goose and a duck started to follow her and stay near her as to watch over her, and I witnessed it too with my own eyes! She told me it felt like a sign from her mother that she was okay, and it greatly comforted her. My heart goes out to all who are lonely and missing their loved one. Please know that Jesus is near and can comfort us when nothing else will.

I lost my mum 6 years ago and my dad last year. Both were so fond of Robin's as dads name is Robin and he missed mum every second just like the lovely man in the video. The scenery is just like where they lived. This video has really touched my heart so very much and I don't think I'll be able to stop watching it, it means so much. My most favourite advert of all time❤️

Yes. You are right . At my mother's funeral a robin appeared on a branch during the service. And frequently since...departed loved ones being near and watching over us.

I sat with my best friend as her husband died earlier this year....as we sat stunned a Robin appeared on the fence.
This advert has opened the floodgates.
I worked in elderly care for so many years and saw first hand the loneliness.
The loneliness effects the young and middle aged as well a death can suck the life and light from your world in a instant and is so painful.
I see everyone out and about attached to phones, eating in a cafe both attached to phones. We forget to talk to each other and seldom smile or say hello to folk we pass in street, sit beside on bus etc
If this advert makes folk think a second to get off phone screen look around, say hello, smile or even pass time with conversation with random stranger you have no idea the effect it can have you maybe only person the other person has spoken to all week as they have no one.
The ease of self service checkouts have made even the social chatter at supermarket till disappear.
None of us knows what is round the corner from old to young a friendly smile a hello can make such a difference.

I lost my dad in June and this will be the first Christmas without him. It will be just me and my son but we will still hang up a stocking on the tree for him. This ad just tugged at my heartstrings and made me cry…but in a good way. Simply perfect ❤

Sending you love i lost both my 7 year old daughter and grandad last June and September. And week after my grandad passed away I saw a Robin on scaffolding I know it was sign they both ok. I miss my daughter she just had seizure never woke up again. She has some her ashes with my grandad and grandmother

As a proud Scotsman I feel heartfelt with tears because I can imagine some people sadly in my street that are old and family don't bother with them, I ve taken my neighbour out for tea and coffee now and again so he doesn't feel lonely. This really hits home. 😢

That's such a kind thing to do. And the time spent with your neighbour is something you'll never regret. When/if the time comes when they no longer need your help, you'll look back and be so pleased that you were there for them when they did. I speak from experience - I've given my time to a number of people over the years, and when I look back I'm just so glad I did. And it's always a case of 'There but for the grace of God...' Our own lives can change so unexpectedly, and we might find ourselves in a position that we never dreamt we would be in. You are a great proud Scotsman!

I lost my husband suddenly on Valentine's Day, 14/02/2023. I am on my own; honestly, nobody cares about me. I still feel his presence; he advises me on what to do if the computer is playing up, etc. I will always miss him, and the advert brings tears to my eyes.

We lost our Dad, and my Mum her husband to Lung Cancer in 2015, and we understand absolutely everything that you and your family have had to go through. Words cannot describe how horrible it is.
There's an added sadness at Christmas, and we still keep our family traditions alive for him, and our rituals to remember him. The ones who love us never truly leave us.
Remember...you are strong. You are loved. You are amazing.

What a beautiful voice and a beautiful song!🫶 Last year, a friend of mine lost her mother and was not prepared. She would spend most of her time at the pond near her work to walk, sit, and reflect on her mom. She was so heartbroken. One day, she noticed that a goose and a duck started to follow her and stay near her as to watch over her, and I witnessed it too with my own eyes! She told me it felt like a sign from her mother that she was okay, and it greatly comforted her. My heart goes out to all who are lonely and missing their loved one. Please know that Jesus is near and can comfort us when nothing else will.
