Dang wish I could have stayed longer. mission 5 can be a bit confusing tbh with where to go. I remember getting very lost on mission 4 and 5 when I first played. Not sure if you noticed but the bloodgoygles (red bat things) if you hit them with your devil arms will split into two so best strategy is to shoot them to stone and then kill. Great job on the agni and rudra fight. Thats usually a tough one when new to dmc3. You are correct a lot of the game is learning about the enemies as you fight them their mechanics and most even have some sort of visual/sound cue before attacks.
For the trial of wisdom it goes off the riddle of the stages of man. (4, 2, 3) In the start you are a baby crawling on all fours. Then you walk on two legs as you get older. When you are old you get a cane for 3.
Also yes probably feels like a direct sequal (well prequal technichally) since its the same team who worked on the first game. As the 2nd dmc was given to a different team than who worked on the first. As much as dmc 2 is bad it did give ideas used in 3 like wall running.
Look forward to you continuing to play this will try to catch you live if possible.

I'm glad you were able to watch the stream live and thank you so much for going back and watching the rest of it. Yeah the bloodgoyles were really annoying at first but once I figured out I can freeze them with the shotgun they got a lot easier to deal with. Now that you say that about the trial of wisdom that does make sense, I knew I would fail that one haha. Yeah I have noticed there are some things that carried over from dmc2 but I really love how Dante really has a personality in this game. He has so much charisma to him that was really lacking in the 2nd game. So far I'm loving dmc3 and I cant wait to play more
