Great Man this man talk to me and give me advice when I was going through some things in my life in Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 Right a Islington and north of finch west and God bless you Mikey
Teach Dem. Greetings bredda. I would really appreciate if you can do Jamaica and the world a favour and consider doing a documentary - on possibly the greatest dj (in addition to Brigadier Jerry) from the late 70s era - the great General Echo.
Big up teach dem another top class interview...learn a lot from this interview some stories connect the dots with other artists stories...keep up the good works
Teach Dem nuff respect love the Meds Mon. Teach would be nice like how there is a B. M. Movie out We need a Sound System Doc Movie with DJs from the pass.
Great interview teach, nuff respect , big up Sassa. Please find the kernel Josey Wales and the principal Charlie star.We wau hear them man deh story bro.
Yes Horse man we do pay for health care ,just not individual directly from the pocket but through our taxes in Canada 🇨🇦for North ice house Eskimo living 🇨🇦.
Teach them it is really good that sassafras is talking about how, some of those DJ's get some of those songs. Because in the earlier days is only few DJs have songs playing on the radio stations, so in the 1970s. Man useto carry their one and two speakers tape recorders, to the dance them and tapes the dance. Then they goes home and practice it, because nobody don't owned the songs them. So when you hear some of them saying that they wrote the song them, they are lying big time. Because the same sound system them type the dance and, sell the cassettes them. So nobody does not own certain songs,I know Scarpio a very long time. Because I and some of his cousins them is friends,I useto lived in Waterhouse from 1968.Going to king Tubbys Hi power sound system, because I lives pretty close to him. When URoy was the only DJ operating and selecting, when I know jammys he have no sound learning trade by king 👑 Tubbys.General Echo and Wilton irie, was the two best young DJs around town. Because they have hit songs playing on both radio stations, you are going to hear a lot of nonsense. I want one of them can come forward and say, that they have a hit songs in the 1970s playing over both radio stations.I know most of the up coming young DJs in the 1970s, and some of them in the 1980s.Before I migrated to England and, then the United States.
Good to see the recognition given to Sasa. I grew up with him just across the road in Maverly. From a decent respectable family, his mother was my basic schoolteacher.
The weird thing is that the people who did the entertaining music got nothing and these nowadays ones are getting rich from producing songs that you can’t even remember the title.
Teach dem you affi do a interview with my cousin most these older artists talk about him on your Interviews..he use to select for Virgo..Papa moke and Down beat...Tony virgo..or Iyahtolda on down beat .
I sometimes try to listen some of the modern dancehall songs. By the time I get past the computer generated intro I have to stop. The music lack rhythm and the voices are overly compressed. The lyrics are all about mommy and mamma. All sad dreary and painful, no fun.
Great interview well done
