    In the 70's, I listened to Ranking Joe and Jah Screw playing Stur Gav at Club Hawaii in May Pen, Clarendon. I also listened to both of them at Four Paths Community Center, in Clarendon on Stur Gav. I actually know about that Dillinger song "Cup of tea" listening to Stur Gav in 70's. That duo of Joe and Screw was a part of my early inspiration and influence to become a selector.

    Appreciate the interview, but note of correction. That Dillinger dance that Jah Screw is not the invention of the art of mixing. When Danny Dread mixed, there were no mixers around as in Jah Screw's dance. Danny Dread mixed tube amps by locking the bass on and off. Thus, Danny Dread invented the art of mixing. Fortunately some of us were around

    • @hungchung2726
      @hungchung2726 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Correct, Also Flux use to mix One Drop Style on Stereophonic but not Frequent on every Song, just Occasionally. I would give the Frequently mixing Style to Danny Dread.

    • @davidhenry368

      Yes the dread it's is one danny dread💯🔥🔥🔥🔥an one socialist roots💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥fire sound.

    • @hungchung2726
      @hungchung2726 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @davidhenry368 Correct, but the bass and treble style was going on at King Tubbys Hometown Hi Fi from U Roy was playing Tubbys Sound, alot of Sounds follow dat trend, Jah Screw use to be active with dat unique Style in which he brings in the bass right at the punchline of the Vocal when a Song Start. Inspector Willie follow the same trend, dat is where I learn it. I still play Sound like dat today. We call it weight & treble Sound. Now we use the Richter Scale Series 3 to drop out the Bass and Punch it in. Back in the days we did dat on a Preamplifier.

    After Ray crashed and died on foreshore road, now Marcus Garvey Drive is only Brother's name, Wally got everything and changed the name of the sound to wally Bionic. He got the liquor store on Waltham Park Road,the Auto Supply on Hagley Park Road,which was Ray's Head quarters but wally was a big phassy hole, as he got the estate he start show off and hype and ghetto gal them from Waltham eat him out and everything went down hill and mashup. Then Wally Brown form Spanish town Road buy the sound from wally Ray's Brother and start INNER CITY SOUND at the corner of Ashley road and Spanish Town road KGN 13.I use to work for wally Ray's brother. Ray not even did like him as he was Wutless when he died they weren't even talking to each other but in not sure about this but I think his estate went to his mother and the mother give it to wally as its was only the two of them.Wally inherited millions and waste it quickly. Most people is trying to take credit for things, which other people was doing long time before them and. The original people them who started the projects, their does not even mention at all.Most of them came into the business very late,in 1980s and 1990s also 2000. Also the guys who was from in the 1950s,1960s and 1970s. Because man like Duke Reid having Sound system, from in the 1950s. Then babwire under drawers, and several more songs in the 1960s. Even Max Romeo did sing a song named wet dream and,it was banned from airplay.
