Approaches for advancing Great Lakes water infrastructure

The GLC hosted an engaging webinar to present its collaborative blueprint on approaches for advancing Great Lakes water infrastructure.
The blueprint was created by a regional working group, comprised of Great Lakes stakeholders from various jurisdictions and disciplines. The group lays out the blueprint in layers by four Priority Areas: (1) public health and safety, (2) community engagement and trust-building, (3) equitable distribution of investments and benefits, and (4) asset management and workforce development. The working group articulates approaches for rebuilding the basin’s water infrastructure with an influx of federal funding through the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). The GLC also plans to include success stories to showcase how organizations, water service providers, or policymakers have implemented the proposed recommendations included in the blueprint.
The GLC is currently soliciting feedback through its Idea Portal, where members of the public can read the blueprint, provide suggestions for its improvement and offer potential success stories to highlight in the blueprint.
