I cannot hate a song with the line “10 minutes of limp gymnastics”. I don’t think I’ve ever heard such a refined lady cut a person down that cruelly in my life.
Just fantastic. Saiki wrote this one, she’s a bit more blunt and direct than Miku with lyrics.
Add to that "I don't care if you die out" and "don't give a sh!t no more"

No idea how many times I have watched this song from Yokohama concert. From the paid live streaming to the umpteen times I have watched it since. Each and every time it just is superb and makes me smile. This is a rare Saiki the singer written song. Fair to say she was not happy. We live in a World where it is easy to hate people sometimes. But if there is a remedy for any hate it is this band.
Also I realized after seeing this that when Miku says "why don't you try and understand me?" in a girly voice that it's the male character saying it. Lol 😂

Best "Put Down" song I have heard in a LONG time. Saiki, instead of Miku wrote the lyrics to this one. The person she wrote about was a guy who cheated on his wife (she was a friend of Saiki) during the Covid pandemic. TELL US WHAT YOU REALLY THINK SAIKI!!!!!
The question mark is there because there is a Japanese word "はて” that is alphabetically spelled "hate". When Saiki wrote the lyrics of this song, she realized that the English word "hate" can be read "はて" in Japanese. Since "はて” is generally used in question, she decided to put "?" after "HATE".

Btw, "はて" can be translated as "What", so "はて？” is like "What?"😉

I think the Hate? With the question mark was chosen because it's an unusual topic for a BAND-MAID song, like someone going "what!? BAND-MAID did a song about Hate?" 😊
It is Japanese word play. The English pronunciation of Hate sounds like the Japanese word for question mark. It is a joke only for people who understand Japanese.
You will love The Warning, the three sisters from Mexico. Everyone does. They are fantastic. And the best thing? It does not matter what you listen to. Everything is good. Generally live is even better though - as live is there super power. Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX is one of the best bets.
The just released "hell you call a dream" from the Pepsi center cdmx is the new gold standard for these sisters. Band maid & the warning, my favorite groups. Both killer live.

In answer to the description question, my favorite part of the song is when Miku-chan sings backup and sings "Taishita". Well, her backup singing in general. :D
The funny thing about this song is Kanami said she wrote the music when she was in an angry mood. Kanami being angry. I can't believe it. She's such a sweet, demure, humble person. Anyway, Saiki took that mood, wrote the lyrics out of anger, and the rest is history.
In an interview, Saiki (who solely wrote the lyrics) said she wrote this about after hearing of a friend dealing with her partner cheating on them, and in general about how disgusting cheaters are.

I think it really is Hate with a question mark. I believe Saiki wanted you to decide for yourself how much and how intensely you wanted to hate. After the initial burst of vengeful hate comes out it can often mellow into an intense abiding disgust or disdain for the individual. After all, full blown hate is exhausting 😴
The Maids do nothing without a great amount of consideration. People frequently , do indeed, suck. Narcissists, sociopaths, and fools seem to rule the day.
I think Saiki's brand of hate is simply akin to putting not one...but several fire crackers up your backside...lighting the fuse...and walking away in disgust ! Peace Ms Brew ! 🕊️

This is a bit of a departure for BAND-MAID since Saiki wrote the lyrics on this one instead of Miku. She said she really like the way the English "I Hate You" felt when she said them.
