Basically both characters have attack cards that gain you an action. They were all drawn at the beginning of the game with very few defence cards. Sun Wukong had no defence and took 13 damage from 4 hits, but Bruce Lee only had one defence card and took 14 damage from 4 hits. Also Sun Wukong has a double-attack card, which is value 0 for the first attack but value 4 for the second attack. The aim is to trick the opponent to waste their defence card on the first attack and not have something good to defend the second. That is exactly what happened here, which is what Baked Goods was deciding with the coin toss. If he hadn't played his defence card he could've survived and got another turn.
