This is something I had figured out on my own as well, but I didn't really think about it much more than "Oh cool, I can quickly move behind corners." I had trouble implementing it during matches. I would have fun bouncing to the ceiling while waiting for the game to start. Your video now has me thinking of the mechanic as a tool, rather than a fun little trick. I also had no idea you could stay stuck to the wall! Another thing to note: The tether can stretch up to 40 meters, but after 20 meters the web icon becomes red and you can't move further away except via falling. Releasing the movement keys will still snap you back as normal
Thanks for your comment! It is a bit tricky to use in matches but I started to use it more and I find some fun applications like, If you attach it to your nest placed behind a cover that has an opening on each side, it allows you to change shooting spot very quickly while regenerating your health in the process. It's really cool and annoying for opponents who will want to get to you every single times, but you'll be ready ;) I didn't know the tether could stretch that far if hanging... very cool, thanks ! PS: If you want you can find some of my attempts at using it in the stream replay I linked at the end of this video.
Big "Ooooooooh..." moment. I ever understood the purpose of staying attached to a web patch but seeing this it makes a lot of sense and makes Peni more interesting than just mines and ultimate.
Yes, but I was struggling finding a range at which it could be useful, and the I started to spin and it stuck there. I was like: Tadaaa! Now I started to look for good spots to weave my web everywhere 💀 Thanks for your comment!
@@JoshThompson25 Yes, what I didn't get at first was how to stay out of cover with the strand tensed enough to snap me back but not so much that I could not move anymore. Di you understand it right away? I couldn't find any description of that anywhere.
@anxietymonamour literally says it in its description. "Shoot a web strand that links to the targeted area or cyber web. If stretched to far it will trigger a pullback"
@@JoshThompson25 Oh ok, I think everybody got that. The point here is that you can extend and move around without snapping back. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Me too and I actually experimented with it in matches and it can be really fun and it fits really well in her loadout in fact :) I'm working on a detailed guide for Peni atm, with a bunch of little details and strategic tips I didn't see anywhere so far. If you're interested I'd invite you to subscribe to make sure you won't miss it. Thanks a lot for your comment ❤️
She's one of the first hero I tried but I definitely think she's gonna stay in my main rotation :) I'm enjoying Mantis a lot right now, while working on a Peni complete guide ;)
i found out about this a few days back too, but wasn't aware of what it's practical application in matches could be although i used it here and there for peeking and shooting and stuff. but yeah, thanks for this video, it would def help me stay aware in my matches and use it, especially the vertical one. anyway, great first video, keep up the good work. from another fellow peni main(from India).
Thank you so much for your time writing this comment. I'm glad I could help a little bit. I'm working on a more in depth video to share more of my ideas for strategic applications of all her abilities. I love her versatility, how she can play Offense and Defense pretty much equally well. Thanks for the kind words, I will do my best to follow your advice, you are giving me great motivation.
One is the amount of web patches you have sprayed, I believe. A count of 3 in total can be dispatched (plus the one from the strand, so 4 in total-but it seems I was mistaken about this. Apologies for the confusion!). The other one is the spider nest life, which is 250, I think.
I'm checking now in the range and it's true it's not changing, strange. When I watch in game replay I can see it change but I don't see what I'm doing different.
I’ve been using F for self-sustaining and not so much for peeking like that. Pretty cool, however I don’t think I’ll be using F any more differently than I already am.
I also saw people can slingshot themselves with that tech by detatching mid launch back to the web. But I found out about this part after trying to find a good tank main for a solid 20 minutes in the practice range.
@anxietymonamour yeah, i saw our second tank do it during a match, but it might be harder than they made it look, since they only did it once the entire game.
She hunts so much more like a spider than Spiderman himself imo. Weaving her web in strategic places to catch insects. I see what you mean tho but her mobility is pretty good as well once you put everything together 😊 Thanks for your comment!
It would be just easier if they allowed the bungie rope to detatch when you jump and recoil when you press the ability a second time instead of holding a movement direction.
Maybe but wouldn't we lose the snappy pull back then? I kinda like to be able to just disappear the moment someone starts shooting at me a bit too much. Maybe I misunderstand what you mean tho. That's also a possibility 😉
omg i did not know peni could cling on the walls like that!! i main her as my vanguard and omg thank you! i mainly use her web to escape or engage but this is giving me some fun strategies!
You can have 3 webs down and it's a good idea to have a few around your spider nest as a healing backup cause good teams will target the nest. Her webzip and wall crawling are good escape tools
@codysorenson4298 Definitely, I have a hard time managing those. So far I used them the most as traps by extending the range of the cyber spiders. I'm also trying to think of placing some for quick repositioning but I often get too caught in the chaos.
@@anxietymonamour it takes a little time to get in the habit of doing this but it can work. I've had a lot of spider nests get destroyed but I was able to hold my position and the other team gets confused cause in their mind they think you have to move. The spider nest has a 15 second cool down if it's destroyed. If you take it down yourself then depending on how much health the nest has the cool down will be a lot shorter
@anxietymonamour you wanna peak from cover since you don't have a shield like a dr strange or other self defense stuff so you gotta be creative and use cover and be hard to hit. Another thing you can do is link to a web then place another somewhat next to it to gain that movement speed to repeak
Oh yeah, I see what you mean. She's not so fragile tho, she has massive life and gets shield from her webs. But did you figure out how to stick to the ground right away ? It took me some trials for sure :) PS: I'm not sure I see what you mean with attaching and then placing another web? I didn't manage to place another web while being stranded.
@anxietymonamour so you get a movement speed buff while in a web right? So you can strand up and then like 2- 3m from where you stand yourself you can place another with you stun web ya know. So when you go to your anchor point to your peak area you get that extra Lil speed to move around. N yeah sure she's got high health and that shield is only active if you stay at full health which isn't always 100% of the time.

Exactlynwhat its for is peeking out to do damage and snapping back when you need to heal

Cool tech 🎉
I think so too :)
Anyone figure out what the web meter on the left side of the screen is for?

Let me wake up, I'll check that out 😊
I'm checking now in the range and it's true it's not changing, strange. When I watch in game replay I can see it change but I don't see what I'm doing different.
The only difference seems to be that I'm at the shooting range, is it the same for you? (And it's 3 web patches max including the web strand one)

Indeed it was :)

So nice of you to say. Let me know if you need a healer to team with, my Mantis might as well help a fellow Peni 😉

Might have been blown away by an explosion at the right time 🤭
@@thegamingillustrator I tried any way I could think off and couldn't find a trick. It seems she falls to the ground as soon as she detaches.
The whole point is you keep the tension allowing you to strafe out to damage then you let go to snap back to heal
Right
Nice
Yes ☺️
wait is there a setting to see the web distance

She can stick to the wall anywhere, just release W but keep holding Space.
