Just a slight correction @1:26- Lord Ganesha is known as Lambodar (for his long belly) while it is Lord Krishna who came to be known as Damodar after Mother Yashoda tied rope around His belly.

In odisha we make manda pithha (मंडा पिठा/ ମଣ୍ଡା ପିଠା) which has different varieties .. nadia (coconut) manda, mung dal manga , chana dal manda , chhena manda and til+lia manda ... All these are sweet mandas where the stuffing is prepared with gud and pinches of spices like green elaichi (gujurati ) , ginger , bay leaf , black pepper ...
Fried one is called bhaja भजा manda...
These are traditionally made on bada osha in the month of kartik for lord shiba ( not for ganesh ji ) except that til variety ( made on pausha purnima so the manda is called pushu manda )
Savoury mandas are made with stuffings of urad+chillies(called aan/ଆଁ / आं pithha ), yellow peas on different regions of Odisha
There is also kobi manda, manda stuffed with spicy cauliflower.

Daam means Rassi Udar maane pet (jine udar me rassi bandhi wo damodar) and Kartik maas ko Damodar maas bhi kehte hain.
In Kerala Modak is called kozhukkatta.

Chana dal manda looks similar to dal pithha of bihar and coconut manda to modak

The coconut is, was and has always been indigenous and native to the Indian soil. The English name of it, 'COCONUT' has been derived from the Portugal language, that is only the nomenclature. It's request you fact check your vids cause such misinformation would only deviate the ones who don't know about food history.

I think the show maker or writer is north indian ....that's why they praise only North....but modak is maharashtrian thing and we never use word Pradesh for Maharashtra...it is rashtra...also story for modak is different,in last video writter said indian were unaware of steam food,but the modak is also steamed food why he fail to say that modak has ancient spiritual background infact it the most oldest food item ever cause rice is first food we have .also there are गव्हाचे मोदक,fried wheat flour modak,😂you didn't research for modak and that ganesha story is wrongly placed every time....modak is as old as ganpati bappa😍so mind it when you explain food item don't go anywhere in world first completely explain the native background...Maharashtra and south indian produce lots of rice not only bangal,also konkan coastal region has biggest coconut production then over all the india.modak is the mixture of things available to the area where it made first.coconut ,rice flour,jaggery,sugar,dry fruits..elaichi also. There are also many other steamed food items like patodi,rice papad, कुरडया.
