They were so young and honestly so cool. I was 5 when they came out and I think 7 when I saw this on mtv 😂 but I remember thinking Holly was so cool and confident. And her voice!! Like what . Perfect pitch?
I was actually at this performance! This was part of MTV's backyard baseball all stars show where they took over someone's backyard and filmed an episode there. Carson Daly and Hillary Duff hosted this. Half my HS graduating class was there in the audience and on the deck. Great memories - thanks for sharing!
Oh wow! That’s incredible 😮, I’m glad you were able to find this performance. I found this performance online thanks to an internet archive but have been searching for the whole show for a while now. Any chance you recorded this on VHS?
I love dream they're one of the best girl group I'm a big fan of and I love them all so awesome I saw them perform in the backyard BBQ on cable I enjoyed it I can watch it on TH-cam more often
I love this song ❤️ I know some of the girls Of the group didn't like it... however I think it's timeless and you can totally play it with music these days ...and have no clue it came out more then almost 17 years ago.
Of course they didn’t. They were hyper religious white American girls and they weren’t comfortable with where pop music was going and had gone to that point. In fairness, sexing up 14-16 year old girls is (not going to lie) a little creepy. Obviously I didn’t have the same opinion back then. All I saw were hot girls around my age. But in hindsight, come on. Wait until they’re 18 before you make their music videos the equivalent of soft core. Again, the 18 year old I was then would have vehemently disagreed, but sexualizing kids is not cool.
The second album rollout and promotion was non existent. I remember only seeing the video with Loon and then nothing. I didnt know if this album got released or shelved. Later, I heard the second album but felt that the first was best. They disappeared after this.😢
@@bgcrp2005 this song inspired danity kane, puff daddy specifically wanted a more urban sounding group. This was the experiment, that’s why it’s so vastly different from all of dreams song.
And then the danity kane girls (especially aubrey) took a million in one chance to be mega stars and BLEW IT. BAD. They made trash music, in fact i didnt even understand some of their songs; 🙄and how they acted was soooo petty. The girls from dream wouldve acted way more grateful than those $k∆nk$ from danity kane.
Pretty good performance from a group that hated this song, for the most part. I believe a couple of the girls welcomed the chance to do more "adult themed" stuff, but not everyone felt that way. Looking back, sexualizing 15 year old girls is cringeworthy enough, especially when they had the talent to make it without it, but that second album basically took the group from your standard late 90s teenage girl exploitation to something else altogether. I'm no prude. If everyone's legal, it's cool. But everyone was max 16 on that first album, and when you realize it was grown men writing those songs, we're getting into R. Kelly territory, which is a shame, because these girls were beautiful and talented and deserved better. There's no way any of them with their voices should be waiting tables today.

They powers that be were pushing the change of the image instead of letting the girls grow naturally
Boom Kat! Lori Ann choreography
Amazing dancing 💃🏼 and this song is actually good
Dreams could be so big
Damn, so if they would’ve liked this song (style) they would probably still be around. This song is so Danity Kane!
Very Danity Kane! I could totally imagine this song on their first album
Dream crawled so that danity kane could run 🏃
I mean danity Kane weren’t kids
They were about 16/17 the most here
@@bgcrp2005 Yeah, but look at Dream's reunion performances and you will be able to see how much Danity Kane resembled them.

The tragedy of 9/11 halted their career the label pushed their singles back Bc of it.
its crazy cause they all could actually sing. could have been way bigger
Who sang the high harmony on "way you making me feel, boy you're forreal!" I'm thinking it's Kasey or Diana.
Diana
Diana sings the highest harmony .Kasey said she sang the low parts abandoned by Melissa.
Before DK, there’s Dream

Where is this place where they were singing at NC. Or Carolina Colorado
This performance was in New Jersey
More girls in the front than guys...
This song was a poor choice for a single and never fit the group 😢
Knowing Diddy he probably yelled at them and cussed them out after this performance 😢😢😢😢
