Have seen this showing up at several places recently and wondered if it was any good, might buy one next time i see based on ralfy's experience with it, his advice hasn't steered me wrong so far :)
Picked up a 1994 Batch 32 at an auction. Look at the back on the packaging. On the botton it says caramel. Maybe not on yours, but it sure does on mine
Hey Ralfy, I believe you mentioned once that Glen Garioch was the spirit in McClellands highland malt. How would the much younger McClellands compare to this bottling?
Hello, Ralfy. I checked your videos and didn't find Tullibardine whiskies. They have a range of a malts - standart one, with sherry and sauternes finish. I bought a bottle of a sautenes cask finish, it's 46% abv, non chill filtered and there's no any caramel, I think it must be something interesting.
I have a bottle of the 15 year old, and I have to say it is the most old-fashioned looking bottle I have. Hopefully the contents of the bottle are good enough.
Hi Ralfy, I wonder, in which ways is a whisky affected by its environment? I mean to say, is the grain grown in that area? I believe not. Is it the water used? I think so. Is it... Smells that come from the air in the area? I don't know. Ideally, I would love to taste a whisky and it was like tasting an area of the Scotland or the world... But to what degree is this so? Thanks
No definitive answer about the pronunciation of Garioch (I'm not being a jerk, BTW, I really want to know), so I went to the Glen Garioch Distillery website. Its homepage states that it's "pronounced Geery in the ancient Doric dialect still spoken in these parts." (Good call on the Doric, ZEDZOR2!) But I'm still left wondering... is Geery pronounced GEAR-ee or JEER-ee? Okay, NOW I'm being a jerk. (Or is that gerk?)
Just want to share my favourite whisky-label: the so-called "old & rare", completely uninformative label (still?) used by Rosco Imports. Luckily, I'm currently unable to find it glued to a bottle. issprops.com/images/graphics/Old-and-Rare-Whisky.jpg
Thanks Ralfy! Tried a few glasses at a family do last Xmas. Was surprised how good their 8 year old was. Nice to see an age stmt on younger versions.

Hey Ralfy always enjoy your review, I just need to ask you what is the number at the bottom of my Edradour Bourbon cask strength. Cheers
I have just started G&M 8 yo. Highland Park. Great for the money.
The English non peated whisky is fantastic and its only 3 yo.amazing.

Hey Ralfy! Did you mention they peated their whisky up until 1989?

I really love your reviews Ralfy. Great stuff. Have you ever done an intro to scotch whisky series?
Ralfy in your opinion where does the "aromaticness" come from? is it the cask involvement or the character of the new-make?? Thanks.

Hey Ralfy have you ever tried the now discontinued 15 year? I found it quite delicious and am regretting not buying a 2nd bottle

What do you think of the 1994, Ralfy?
If you liked that then you should try Chichibu the first, Johnny Norfolk.
Its GEARY!! No one round here would dare pronounce it Glen Gary :-)
Thank you for that info !
Got the 1986 version of this (25y) and i must say i prefer their younger bottlings.
Now I will be running around the shops with ruller and demanding discounts if the bottle mesures lower.
Just curious...Is it pronounced GAR-ee or GEAR-ee?
_Cheery Garioch!_ ;)
wow Ralphy... added what looked like 50% water...
Malt-mention: Helloooo there, you Minimoog knob twiddlers!
he said it in the beginning
To be accurate...he said GAR-ee in the beginning and GEAR-ee later.
Glen & Gerry's Scotch Delite Ice Cream. haha

It is pronounced Gee-ree.
He actually said it like that in his original 12yr review. Not sure why he changed
