I know Galavant is the main hero in this story, but Richard had the best character development from season 1 to now. Yes he was a villain, but deep down he was a hero inside. He just needed to bring that hero out. Not to sound cheesy, but his love for Roberta brought that hero out.
Could you please please pleeeeeeeeease put up king Richard and Roberta's first kiss. *from Galavant's advice to Sid talking to the horse*. Please, thank you😁
CONTROVERSIAL OPINION: I know this is supposed to be a beautiful moment, but all I can think about is that, when it all comes down to it, Roberta DOES NOT believe in or trust Richard. She literally has less faith in him than the characters who’ve seen for years just how incompetent he was (Garath, Galavant, etc). Why is she a good partner for him? It’s like they just wanted to give Richard a queen and decided to throw her in. The only good moment she had was in the Giant/Dwarf song, and that was maybe 20 seconds.
I too thought it was a little underwhelming how little she believed in him. But I feel like that might be one of the plot points of S3 if it ever existed. We know Richard was not a good king - but after this battle, he will probably get his throne back and have to prove himself as a capable ruler so as to not disappoint Roberta
Roberta, as much as I love her, is working off of real world logic. Which is why she fixed the fight between the dwarves and the giants - because having real world logic win out there is funny. Richard is not the kind of person who would survive a hand to hand fight in the real world. Luckily they dont live in the real world and for their arcs to conclude satisfyingly he couldnt die. She learns a little what genre shes in and he gets the triumphant, heroic deed - completing his arc from villain to chosen one hero.
The beginning part where he's racing to get Roberta but gets pulled over by a police officer reminds me of Monty Python!!!
❤️

"Honestly, officer, I had no idea I was going that fast."
Beside all the funny parts like getting pulled over and saying "Put down that cat," that scene is super romantic, until the kiss happened. Lol
Richard’s finally a hero. ☺️😊 I love his arc in season 2. ❤️
Start of kiss: "Awww"
more kiss: ew
even more kiss: okay this is getting too uncomfortable somebody stop them.
This and the scene of Richard vs Wormwood are my favourites for this episode :D
I can't believe that's the same guy who cried when he got jelly on his fancy pants

She believes he is a capable person. She just didn't think he could fight. Which if we're being honest he still isn't very good at fighting

I’m sorry, but if you’ve seen Richard for any amount of time in the series… how exactly are you going to have faith that he will survive a huge war?
Err… It’s Richard. The guy who cried like a little girl when he dripped a sauce on his pants. Who hasn’t been able to fight properly for two seasons.
