      Patriot In The Dark I’m going to have to do a full video with this bad boy to explain fully. Something that I annotated in text was that it has a milspec selector lever. Which is why the hammer fell when I pulled the safety all the way up. I was so excited I jumped on discord and told the rest of the kp9 fan club. Hahah. Thanks Patriot!!!

    That one also doesn’t have a standard size receiver either, where the PSA actually does have the full-size receiver of an AK

    • @Rupan-rx
      @Rupan-rx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott P79 it does have standard size receiver of the saiga 9/Vityaz-SN. Which is Milspec and is why it needs the barrel pin folding stock latch.
      I heard you were the kp9 club a verbal thrashing before I made the video haha.

    • @flippy51090
      @flippy51090 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      why do full size receiver better?

    • @Scott079
      @Scott079 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      RupanRx as far as I know the PSA uses a full-size regular AK receiver which would definitely necessitate using a different type of buffer to make up for the length on the blowback system

    K-USA should re-design the coupler that would prevent deep scratches to the mags.

    I just ordered a KP-9 with extra mags, schmancy KUSA tactical backpack, folding brace, and I'm so damn excited its gonna be torture waiting for it to arrive. I'm not gonna get carried away with accessories with the exception of a red dot optic. Any suggestions?

    • @Rupan-rx
      @Rupan-rx  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nice! I got my bars optic in from kusa but haven’t installed it yet. I believe it was specifically made for the kp9/kr9. I’m still running a holosun 507c green. I have a few buddies that have gone zenitco alpha with their kp9s. Cool guns but I don’t want my kr9 to weight anymore. Maybe except for a light. They all went alg trigger to. I don’t believe it is needed. The factory trigger is amazing compared to many factory triggers. That being said I prefer gi triggers in my ars and tapco triggers in aks. I need to sbr this dang gun. I hear the triangle brace for kp9 feels cheap. Goodluck!

    • @solarjinx
      @solarjinx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rupan-rx Really appreciate the reply, it was super helpful. If I don't like the triangle brace I can always pay the government the extortion fee and add the stock to it, correct? I'm not entirely sure how that goes. I already know I'm gonna need waaaay more ammo when I finally get this gun in my hands :)

    What are your thoughts on the extended charging handle offered by KUSA for the KP9?

  • @raksocerati

    Have you changed the handguard and or the trigger? How about a video?

    • @Rupan-rx
      @Rupan-rx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have 4 friends with kp9s and one friend with a kr9. They all installed zenitco stuff and alg triggers. I opted to stay away because I preferred to keep my kr9 as light as possible. The factory trigger is amazing and I don’t have an issue with the hand guard. There is a small space for a light under the front sight. It’s a 9mm. So it’s never going to get hot enough to melt a light under normal use. I can easily bump fire the factory trigger from my shoulder. I just don’t want to see a 9mm be 8-10 pounds. Thanks

    After some time with it, how do you like the enhanced safety? Thanks

    • @Rupan-rx
      @Rupan-rx  ปีที่แล้ว

      I took it off shortly after the video. I do run a krebs safety on my lynx underfolder. It’s great and worth it. My kr9 replaced my mp5 in my lineup. I can shoot with the factory kusa safety left handed much easier. It’s different than any of my other ak selector levers. Thanks!

  • @Rupan-rx
    @Rupan-rx  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is that a Holosun HS507C-X2? and would you recommend it?

    • @Rupan-rx
      @Rupan-rx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is just the first version in green. I own 4-5 507c. 2 are x2. I also own a few other holosuns. I cannot see other red dots nearly as well as holosuns. I have astigmatisms. Absolutely recommend the 507c x2. If you’re only gonna get one, the 509t might be better with the closed emitter. I run that on my duty pistol. Thanks

    So you don’t care about ur weapons being dirty, but you care about scratching a mag? Seems legit

    • @Rupan-rx
      @Rupan-rx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is lazy a synonym for damage? After several takes I realized that I still hadn’t cleaned the rifle. I wasn’t going to stop the take to clean it. That’s legit. I use to be forced to clean weapons daily. Even then I would be worried about scratching a mag or optic I paid for.

      @Rupan-rx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mckaidenmoore3011 I clarified in my last reply that I forgot to clean the rifle before filming. You think a couple rounds worth of 9mm through a blowback is equal to scratching up magazines. Seems legit 😂

    • @mckaidenmoore3011
      @mckaidenmoore3011 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rupan-rx no not at all actually. I don’t clean my ar every time I shoot it. Tbh it hasn’t been cleaning in months. I can just tell ur one of the dudes who care more about it looking cool an good more than it being reliable.

    • @Rupan-rx
      @Rupan-rx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mckaidenmoore3011 Reliability gets tested when I go to classes. Got a retired atf swat guy that teaches courses at my club and I go to sig academy (about 45 mins away). My club has 5 rounds per mag and 10-15 seconds between each shot rules. If I film mag dumps it will be proof I’m breaking the rules. I stay because of the 600 yard high power range. One fudd started talking shit and getting stand-off ish because he saw us using silhouettes at 600 yards. Recently found a club 10 mins from mine that lets you draw from a holster. A buddy and I were doing mock fbi quals for fun. If I were actually all show then you would see at least 20 videos about my krinks, custom ak builds, and hd18.
