In this video, we went to Peterborough to see if it really the UK's worst city. Stay til the end to see our true thoughts after visiting things like the cathedral and other things!

Lived in 8 cities in the UK over the last 15 years! There are a lot of good things in this city. Just walking around in the town centre on a rainy Tuesday is not the best way to rate any UK city and I have seen that most town centres are quiet and shabby in the UK. The best thing in Peterborough is effortless driving without queues on the smooth parkways. There are a lot of green spaces and parks. Overall a best city to live in my view.

I spent my teenage years just outside Peterborough, way back in the 1970's. Back then it was utterly dire. After 5pm on a Friday night it was dead, with empty streets and no where to go except the Bull Hotel where we would go and spend the evening. It has improved over the years considerably, and I would say is in every respect a much better place. I still go back to visit friends when I can.

Take your bikes next time, best cycle network of any city and the famous Green Wheel.
Fab Thai food at Charters, which is a huge barge on the River Nene. On the same barge is a great pub serving Oakham Beers which are made in the City. I guess you guys are a bit young to drink, but you could always get a Coke or something and at least soak up the atmosphere.
Was that Pizza Express you went in? Started by a bloke from Peterborough called Peter Boizot.
Might be an idea to do some research next time.

I really enjoy going to QueensGate and the only reason that it wasn't a good is that the shops were still being restocked with everything which took a while becauseof a lack of lorry drivers which temporarily forced most of the shops to shut. As well as that, there was construction on what is now an arcade and a mini golf. Overall it is a great shopping centre and after countless hours of walking around it I can tell you that it isn't nearly as bad as you think it is. As well as that, there is a McDonald's at one of the exitd

Cathedral and museum are the highlights for me, I'm more into history than shopping around - even though admittedly there are some good shops in the centre. Months back, I chatted with one fellow at the bus station, he was actually a barefooter (all weathers!) and he told me that every Saturday, during the late 90's, he enjoyed going to Peterborough on the train. On occasion he met up with family and they all went to an antiques shop down one of the streets (he'd long forgotten the name of the street). Caught sight of him every now and then, but haven't seen him for a while, sadly.

I've lived in Peterborough all my life and I cannot for the life of me think its ranked as the worst city to live as I can think or others that are way worst. Peterborough isn't too bad of a place to live, but this video didn't really show the best parts and worst parts of the city and you really need a local to help you. I go to Cambridge a lot and always compare the two and the one big difference between the cities is Cambridges links to academia that makes it very attractive, on a local live I see the same types of people I would get in Peterborough, both cities have great local conservation areas to explore, Peterborogh's biggest failing is its nightlife it lacks anything really special, aside from that I think you need to really explore the place to judge it for being labelled the worst. And its weird as more and more companies are coming here to set up shop, More and more people are moving here from more expensive cities due to its location and ease of access to the big cities this link shows some good point of Peterborough th-cam.com/video/1lkYJm5FWFE/w-d-xo.html

Peterborough is a bad place. There are worse places but it's been ruined by uncontrolled immigration, has lots of chavs, weirdos and mentally ill people and virtually no middle class people in the whole city. Lots of awful areas and crap schools. Crap shopping and nightlife. Terrible council. Litter and flytipping everywhere. Homeless, druggies and drunks everywhere. New hospital but it's only big enough for half the city. What a dump.

The cathedral is fantastic, but the town has nothing to offer beside it. Its an unmissable stop for someone who wants to see every cathedral in the country, for anyone else its pointless. I’ve visited Peterborough and absolutely loved the cathedral too, it’s certainly a very important building; for example it has the oldest and largest medieval wooden ceiling surviving in Europe (around 1200 AD). I didn’t have time to explore much of the city at all, as I only came to see the cathedral, but I did absolutely love the other two Cambridgeshire cities of Cambridge and Ely (both extremely charming and filled with tonnes of beautiful historic architecture). I am surprised though that people feel Peterborough is the worst… I didn’t get that impression myself.

His first restaurant opened in Wardour Street, Soho, London, to much acclaim, with a second PizzaExpress opening in 1967. He was also the first to import Peroni into the UK. Boizot's empire grew quickly because of its authentic Italian taste and unique artistic approach.

As someone who is born and raised in Peterborough the worst city label is more of a joke. I could agree that to visit it's not too applying. It's more a place to be lived in.
The River Nene is a pleasant sort, you've got the quayside with the Key Theatre, the town bridge, and there's also the Nene Valley Railway.

Peterborough is not just the city centre guys, I think you'd perhaps enjoy the numerous skate parks, ice rink, speedway, sailing, wake boarding, paddle boarding, archery and many other sports, there's a small local museum in town and Flag Fen Archeological site & recreation of how people lived (including actual recreations of the buildings) over 3000 years ago. + woods, lakes and so on, there is much more to Peterborough it's just not all in the town centre. Perhaps you should come back to Peterborough with more of an idea of what you want to see or do

@@LoganSpooner I hope if you do come back to Peterborough you go further than the City Centre (don't go to Lincoln Road), you need to go to the different neighbourhoods. Perhaps get yourselves a Day Rider which you can use on any Stagecoach Citibus for the whole day. Even the shops here are not all in the city centre. It's a bit of an odd place and takes some getting used to, I'm not a Peterboroughian and found it very strange and unusual when I moved here, I was used to the more traditional set up for towns and cities, Peterborough doesn't follow those rules. Yes, we do have rundown areas like all cities do, but we some very lovely areas too and not all on show some are hidden behind buildings or within estates

As someone who lives in Peterborough, it really isn't that great. There's no opportunities for jobs aside from the hospital or the industrial areas. As for Queensgate they're doing a massive renovation on it so who knows if that'll improve it, one can hope so. There's some really nice nature spots just outside the centre along the river and the Nene valley railway. They are absolutely stunning in the summer. Overall though it is very lacklustre, and I can't wait to move away from it haha.

I’m Peterborough born and bred, and I think it’s unfair to say it’s the worst in the UK. There are far crappier places in my opinion! What I would say though is that it’s a disappointing city. Minus the Cathedral, there’s nothing special about PB. Nightlife is shocking, daytime/evening activities are few and far between, and there’s just so many empty retail units. It sucks even more because when a decent space becomes available, you know full well it will be yet another B&M etc, it’s just so dull. You easily run out of things to do here, which is a shame because given the chance by the people in the city with money, I think it has real potential 👍🏻

Just a bad rep from 20 or so years ago. Also, like most cities, Peterborough isnt just the city center, its massive and there are multiple shopping centers all over Peterborough, unfortunately for Peterborough though, the main one (Queensgate) is dying (due to very high rent and the departure of John Lewis i suspect) and being surpassed by the others, in Hampton (south Peterborough) and Brotherhood (north Peterborough).

What makes Peterborough the worst city in the UK?
What were the things that you were looking for and looking to in Peterborough, was it to visit particular designated tourist spots, or to visit locations of daily services and commercial activity such as shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, internet rooms, gaming centres, and sports and physical creational areas?
Were you looking for any events or locations of performing arts, visual arts, and fine arts?
Are you into industrial tourism? By this I mean you visit sites of industrial activity varying from garages, carpentry workshops, and wood workers sheds, all the way up to large textiles plants, petrochemicals refineries, steel mills, and factories that make all sorts of machines varying from electric motors, to air conditioners, and unto chemicals processing equipment and excavators... Visiting various science labs with fancy gadgets that do research in material science, chemistry, and physics can also count as industrial tourism...

I say Peterborough is not a nice place to live, I lived there for well over 40 years of my life and I spent many years and decades wanting to move well out and well away from the place I now no longer live there and where I am now is nothing like Peterborough and also when I lived in Peterborough I found the place was neither one thing nor the other and I am not been funny but there are other cities I have been to not lived in that IMO seemed way nicer and more chilled out Plymouth is several times bigger but it is more relaxed and the people are more laid back. There is a town called Bourne which is in Lincolnshire and in comparison nothing like Peterborough and also I know people who left Peterborough and went to live in Bourne or even live in places like Stamford which is quite an old town but nonetheless nicer and also places like the Deepings or even Tallington which is quite quiet and more laid back.

Try spending a day in the UKs worst seaside town Hastings in East Sussex if you want to see a true doss hole inhabited by the worst sub humans ever to be encountered. Hastings is truly shocking, filthy, grotty and derelict. Many chose to live on the street rather than be housed in the nearby Warrior Square St. Leonards. Hastings Conquest Hospital is where one goes if having a desire to die! Fashion is anything that can be shop lifted from Primark without being caught by the PCSOs in a hot chase LOL! Even the bus shelters are the worst in Britain with one bus shelter in Queens Road having been trashed long ago and left a wreck by the local council. Hastings pier is a plank! Hastings Railway station is rank bad where the toilets are dreadful and only those desperate to have a slash go. Social Housing estates are seriously bad with single moms who cannot identify the father/s of their bratz are housed. One needs a criminal conviction to get Social Housing in Hastings E. Sussex. Hastings in East Sussex without doubt one of the worst locations in Britain if not the worst.
