I've tested a Makey Makey for the same purpose and it works well, both as a connection for a conventional key and as a self-contained touch key (either straight with the SPACE pad or paddle with right and left arrow pads).
Thanks for this video, I have a vband interface that presents itself as a USB HID keyboard, which is similar to what you are doing here ant it works great with Morse-It, but could you explain what you mean by "Chaining the sequences together" at 1:55 ?
Chaining is an option under CW Ops that you can toggle on or off. When the option is on, it will advance through each segment of the lesson automatically. Otherwise, when off, it will stop at the end of the current segment you are on. Choose session, then Chain segment, or Stop chain to start of stop the chain process.
Can I hook up an iambic paddle directly to my iPad (through an interface, presumably) or do I need a keyer inbetween? Where does one find these interfaces?
You can hook up an iambic key, but the thing to remember is that due to the keyboard interface (through the Camera Connection Kit) you will only be able to use one side of the key or the other. This is simply due to the nature of the operating system, and not Morse-It. However, Francis Bonnin, the creator the software has also implemented other interfaces that support multiple button presses. Check out pacolabs.com/iOS/MorseIt/ for details. The Camera Connection Kit can be purchased an nearly any retail store that supports Apple products. The Paco Labs website will have information on additional interfaces.
I can update the video to show that. All you need to do is plug a standard keyboard into the Camera Connection Kit. It provides a standard USB port, so a standard PC keyboard will plug directly into it. From there, just configure Morse-it for use as a Straight key with keyboard input. Thank you for your comments!
Is it possible to make a wireless (radio wave preferred) Morse transmitter and USB receiver which plugged to a laptop. Transmitter send a particular frequency wave and USB receiver receives the signal and the morse code showing in laptop
Yes, this is possible. If you have a transceiver with sound card capabilities, you can use FLDigi. Morse-It at the moment only has input capability, and audio-visual output, so I don’t think there is a way to send morse code with Morse-it through a standard transceiver.
You can copy / paste text files into a new macro pack. Just go to the macro page, and create a new macro. From there, you can add files from W1AW for example, or create your own custom macros.
Good point. One thing thats really nice is that Morse-It is available for your iPhone as well. So, if you’re sitting around with a few idle moments, and away from your rig, you can practice on your phone. This setup is also great for stormy days when you can’t get on the air due to bad weather.

This is great! I have forwarded the results to Francis Bonnin =) Thank you for the input ;-)

@@NexxuSix Many thanks! I'll give that a go.

NexxuSix again, thank you!
How about a video showing the connection to the keyboard for us old arthritic operators?

Michael Sharp thanks so much. I purchased the update plus the video programs.
Is there any thing less expensive than an IPAC 2 interface that you can recommend? thx
You might want to look at the VBand interface. That is reviewed on my other video.
@@NexxuSix Great. thx.

@@NexxuSix Thank you for your reply. I actually don't need audio. Morse (dash and dot) only required.
