I started with the Playseat Challenge and went to a Playseat Evolution. The Challenge was to narrow and was jabbing into my thighs so I returned it. The Evolution was a little better but had the center post which didn’t work well with the 3 pedals setup, works well with a 2 pedal setup though.
Do you encounter any issue running the next level motion platform directly off the floor? I have the same GT Omega stand and was thinking of getting a bucket seat (either using the add-on frame or a diy 4040 frame) and also a long-term aim of adding the motion platform.
Nope, it works great. But if you can work it out on the rig itself, that would be better though. Easier to move and rearrange if needed, and you wouldn't want to put holes in the floor anywhere. 😁
Lol, thanks. Just saw from your other video that you bolted it to the floor. Was hoping that it could actually work without being attached to anything like a standalone chair. How is the SHH shifter holding up? Your review was one of the those that convinced me to get it - should arrive today :)
@@navikYT Hehehe, yes, it needs to be hardmounted.. Didn't fit to the rear seat frame, and too much of a hassle to get it on there, so I just mouned it to the floor...😂 Oh nice! It's holding up great, I still use it a lot. 👍
Can't remember if I did mention it in this video, I know I did go over it in a review of the Challenge. It is out when in use, but actually only serve a purpose when you are lifting up the wheel, so that the seat don't fall over when you get out of the seat.
@@RVRCloset I'm getting mine in a few days im going to let u know for sure, actually i might not be able to because my area is too small lol, Playseat squad in the house. :)
So I finally got it set up a few days ago. OMG it's so comfortable! And when its lowered down set up it was still so compact it fit perfectly into the small area I had, I ended up driving for a few hours for the first time ever in my life because you have less strain in that comfortable position, it was so immersive with VR. Even pulled the steering wheel off on accident when I almost hit a car from behind I was only using the G920 clamps and natural tendency to brace and pull the steering wheel toward me that part was funny. But I put the included bolts into it steering wheel now so that wont happen again and with the allen wrench you can even mount the steering wheel mount a little farther back for more space. And yea the little pullout thing was useful after all. And BTW its still very heavy or I must be weak, with all the steering wheel and pedals mounted and I was going to chose between this and the GT Omega APEX which is even heavier, i'd be Conan by the time I placed and unfolded everyday all week.
What a difference going from one to the other. I guess for your son the playseat is good enough plus light enough to move around. When did you bolt your V3 to the floor? When you cleaned up the closet and added the computer? I also noticed your Heusinkveld shifter is on the left. It is your better sequential so im just curious is it because of mounting placement is better or you race more right side steering cars?
Yes, think the challenge is really good if you haven't decided if sim racing is for you yet, or don't have a place to always have a rig mounted. The V3 have been mounted in the floor from the start, never found a good way to mount it on the GT Omega rear seat frame.. That was where I had room left for a sequential, but there are also some really nice right hand side cars that I use with the HE shifter. V8 supercars, Nissan GT2, Caterham and Ginetta GT5 to name some. Thanks for watching my friend! 🍻
Thanks for the comment! Yeah the Apex is a newer wheel stand version, looks a bit more steardy and they have also adjusted some things I had complaints about with the original GT Omega wheel stand, like the adjustable pedal plate.

I noticed you didn't pull out the side stand on it, that's next to the pedals that makes it more stable, any reason for that?

@@vz-v Cool, it's a really nice starter rig, or if you don't have space for a stationary rig.👍

I made the mistake and got a knock off version for $50 less. But good video bro. Your stand is super modified for sure lol looks pretty cool.
Thanks my friend!
Yeah too bad, otherwise you could have added a rear seat and frame and gotten a full rig..
Nice video thx mate
Thanks man! 🍻
