The John G. Munson....And this lady from 1952 is still a "looker" even in the dark of night. Shes coming in slow and steady looking sleek and shiny. The Munson works through the holiday, theres work to be done. She continues on without sleep...onward into her sliding turn. As the amber city lights glow like candles in the dark. A beautiful capture of the Munson. Outstanding! Thanks.
Your videos are an on-going gift to those of us around the world who have a deep, passionate love, awe, & respect for the ships/captains/crews/ and ALL the men & woman who work on them. Thank you!
No! Sleep! Til Duluth! Even then, it's work work work for the Munson's crew to load that ore and then deliver it to the waiting customer. And then it's on to the next customer and so on and so forth, until Mother Nature says, "that's enough for this year," and winter sets in, closing down shipping on the lakes. But there's always next year!
@@1Long2Short Indeed. How many people made a career out of working on the Munson vs. how many worked a season or two for college expenses. Quite a few stories, that's for sure!
John G Munson: "You know, I've been hauling rocks around these ponds for seventy something years, and I still don't understand what a Holliday is." Arial Lift Bridge: "It means more of the humans show up in the park, and they hang up decorations sometimes. I don't understand it either."
A beautiful classic! Thank you. Another amazing video.

Deb…Such a handsome ship….love the swoopy bits where the height of the bow drops down to the height of the long sides.
I agree, Deb. The swoopy bits add a little character. 😉

The endless cycle continues! Just think of how many generations have sailed on the Munson. 🤔
