When I got my set I was cross shopping it with the Dunu Davinci and Jay’s Estrella. I heard Jay’s Estrella and it was a little too much energy for me personally but I still can recognize it is a fun and airy tuned IEM. I have not heard the Davinci but got a great deal on my Dynaquattro 😃.
@@dur69ster i figured out my psvane art series were the problem. Way too warm and way too noisy. Once I put my JJE HP gold pins back in and tried the Dyna again, it was a better match. And, not coincidentally, I got the Spinfit W1s in a few days ago too. So all I have to say is that the tubes and the tips make a big difference on the Dynaquattro. Good call on all fronts!!! ☮️
I love the Dynaquattro. I'm an unabashed quasi-basshead, but I wouldn't consider these a full-blown basshead set based on bass quantity. But based on the bass quality ...then yes, call them a basshead set. The upper mids are more in quantity than the bass. I also wouldn't call these dark, but that is based on my own hearing and preferences. I still have my full range of hearing, so the treble was on the warm side, but I could still hear enough of it for it to not be an issue. I also used it on my Hiby R6 III and had no issues. I did have it in full class A mode and on medium gain. If I switched either the gain or the class A mode, it didn't sound as good. Part of the issue is the output impedance of the R6 III. I noticed that it sounded better on the balanced output, which makes sense. The balanced output impedance is 1 ohm, whereas the single ended is 0.5 ohm. The higher output impedance helps with the drivers of the Dynaquattro. It has a sweetspot with impedance. Also, the Softears Ultra Clear Liquid Silicone eartips helped bring out the treble a bit more while retaining the bass and mids tuning.
@@hazi5961 okay I’m gonna try your way with the Hiby before I send them back to Sforzabull. Good call. I did not use class A mode with them at all. And I would also agree that they are not all that dark. Just a bit darker than what I’ve heard recently. And once I adjusted to them, it was not something I’d call a flaw necessarily, especially with their level of detail retrieval. Just different. And very, very smooth.
Fantastic video to start the day with before I head out! 8:49 are cablegasms a thing? cause I think I just had one.. 12:54 dark and fuzzy on sabre chips? interesting 20:15 CS for the win. I think I've turned into a bit of CS fanboy owning 2 (soon to be 3 hopefully) CS dongles. though I have become more curious about AKM.
@@t.dsmith8619 that experience with the Hiby R6 iii was unsettling, especially because it was my introduction to the set… I’m glad I gave them a second chance
My question is ... was it truly the dacs making the difference, or the amplification of those units? There is a lot more variance in the output power and impedance of the units that were tested on, versus it strictly being dac based. Those can affect the sound more than the actual dac implementation.
@@hazi5961 I don't have much experience with DAPs but I doubt it was lacking power considering the dunu dtc dongle performed fine and I know that has a lot less power.
@ I know. I hear ya on that. The power of the K11s and SMSL ao300 are formidable, but so is the TA-22. To your point though, the dtc800 and Onix alpha both pump out nearly 500mW so the power may indeed be the difference. And the Dynaquattro is very power hungry. The Hiby puts out 405mW on balanced in class AB mode which is what I tested them on. I wouldn’t think it would make that much of a difference, but maybe it did…
I’ve been lusting for the Hype4 for months. One click away from purchasing several times, but I chickened out. Every time. I’m wondering if I should check the Dyna out one more time before I send it home… thanks for your thoughts on the Hype4! ☮️
@BassDad8 My new favourite is the Juzear Butterfly 61T, no pressure issues at all. This iem slams in all aspects. Thieaudio Hype 4 is absolutely great for lay back listening and just chilling out.
@@Hijynx87 I think I’m going to make it without buying the me600… this time anyway. I’d take the Tea 2 over the Dyna for overall technical performance. I just really like the balance of the Tea 2. Haven’t tried the Pro yet, but the 2 is on my short list for sure. I will say one last thing regarding the Dynaquattro- they were really starting to grow on me. If I owned them, I’d bet they’d probably end up being one of my favorites.
I've seen some graphs that look exactly like SGOR Adonis but your description doesn't match those graphs. They showed a lot more air than your graph. Could be coupler or qc related I guess.
I've been thinking about getting the Dynaquattro at some point. 🤔 Sounds like one I would probably like, though. Thank you for another great review! 👍

I am glad you share your source synergy experience since some people in the hobby think all dac/amps with similar specs are all created equal 🤓
The Dynaquattro did great on my Xduoo TA22 medium gain psvane horizon tubes, spin fit w1.

@ yeah the horizon series are a little less warm and more open, but still have a slight bit of the warmth retained.
Thanks for the review, EW300 still on my wish list
Yes yes yes! 😂
We all have to hide our wallets now. Thank you for this review.
Great review! I think the EW 300 would be much closer to my budget 😅
