I don’t know much about these cards, I’ve been a long time football fan, but my friend collects them. But won’t the value of the card highly depend on his career? Rookie cards have higher value, but he goes on to be a legend, surely it would be worth more.

Naw this is a card you hold. He's not nearly good enough or popular enough yet for it to be anywhere near what it could be. You hold this for years in hopes he turns into the next Mbappe/Vini Jr or the next Messi/Ronaldo and then you sell it. You need him to hit the mainstream card collectors. You get rid of it now you're probably looking at 10k-15k. If he lives up to the hype and wins a Ballon d'Or in 5 years you're talking over 100k.
