A surprise for the mother who spent thousands feeding children when schools closed

We want to thank people in our community with random acts of kindness and leave you feeling good.
We recently received an email about a woman living in Shelley named Missy Poulsen. It said:
I know a lady who is always literally one of the first people to step up to help anyone in a time of need.
This particular time she has been buying, packaging and handing out 400 breakfast and lunches a day to the children and elder of Shelley. She started doing this because she saw a very high need for it and the school wasn’t starting their meals for kids until March 30. So she was going to bridge the gap.
She has three teenage kids and has been going everywhere trying to find enough food. She then sets up and packs all the lunches in her living room with her little family’s help. She asks for volunteers to help her hand out the lunches at several different places in Shelley and she’ll even deliver them if the person has no way to get to the pick up locations.
It hasn’t been easy for her to do this very generous thing. She has had people take pictures of her at Sam’s Club and say nasty things to her at stores because they see her buying so much and assume she’s hoarding food when that’s the farthest from the truth.
Missy is a real-life hero to so many people in her community. There are so many more instances of her serving others that I’d be here all day writing this if I don’t stop at these ones.
Missy did bridge the gap for a few weeks until the Shelley School District could start serving meals. We wanted to thank her for Feel Good Friday and surprised her at her home. Watch the video above to see what happened!

I think of myself as a good person...I love these stories but I see them and I think to myself, "I could be better"
We could al do better.
And that’s one of the goals of these stories, people can do good and not let it known but when they do, then people like you who want to do better will be more motivated
If you think like that every day, you are a good person, you can't just do one deed and then sit back on your laurel's. strive, every damned day.

If only 1/4th of 1% of us did what this woman did, how different the social outcome of this "pandemic" would be. She, way more than most of us, is a true hero and inspiration. Thank you EIN for staying vigilant and letting us have good news from time to time.

Individuals, clubs, churches, and charities do a LOT. During the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake here on California's Monterey Bay Area the local churches and charities were hard at work almost immediately. It too state & federal agencies a day or several days to get set up to help people. I picked up some FEMA help applications because of damage to my business but realized it would take more time to deal with the red tape for an uncertain amount of help so I just got back to work cleaning up and getting back into production.

This is a fine example of how we can all be, anytime but especially now. Missy saw a gap and filled it. No fanfare. No self promotion. Just caring about others. Thank you for sharing this story. Blessings to Missy, her kids, and the other volunteers who made this happen for their community.

pete w not being sarcastic. Our state has had a mask mandate for 3 months and we’re seeing a spike now.
No matter how careful you are, you can catch it. But I’m not living my life afraid to get near people or wear a mask 24/7. It’s not normal, if I catch it, so be it.
They are always so humble, it seems the more they do the more humble they are. She’s giving credit to everyone else and not taking any herself.

I donated 300 dollars to some really needy people. For a week I felt so good inside, it's unbelievable. Now I will save $20 every paycheck and donate that money at Christmas to some needy family. I think I am a rude evil person. Just trying to better myself.

Can you imagine if every state had residents like The Secret Santa, Feel good Friday. East Idaho News. The world would be so much better off. I have watched these videos over and over and I cry as bad as the 1st time I saw them.
I still work full time but my family and I tries to help with what we can, but I now see it is so little.

My God ! Those kind of people really exists? I know I'm an atheist but this is what restores my wavering thrust in humane kind, Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The infirm elderly obviously need the help in receiving food and meal kits!
How is it that parents would let their children go hungry? You need to do everything possible to care for your children. Maybe if you hadn't spent your money on tattoos and expensive phones, you could have stocked up for a rainy day. Thanks to this woman who stepped up to the plate and took responsibility for these kids.
