Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are actually just one series of manga. Only in America they are made seperate (like the anime). The original manga contains the full 42 volumes of Dragon Ball.
You are right in Japan they never renumbered them.

Tsubasa was my favorite CLAMP series. I fondly remember reading volumes of it out of order from my library when I was younger. If it ever comes out in a deluxe copy, I’ll return to it.

I own the Dragon Ball/Z Vizbigs, but I've thought about getting the box sets for that same reason! I actually overall prefer the Dragon Ball portion to the Z portion (aside from the Saiyan and Frieza sagas). My favorite overall characters are Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin. Also, love that you mentioned the old-school Pioneer dub, Omar! Their uncut dubs of the first 3 DBZ movies were top notch.
That change between vertical and horizontal orientation for Naruto would kill my OCD.

The flowers of evil is a great series. I watched the anime a while back and it got me hooked into the manga

Same. My books always arrive with some kind of damage from Amazon (and Walmart often), unfortunately. I'm not super picky but I'd rather spend a little more money or wait longer buying from a company that cares. More than once I have received Amazon book orders in boxes that have broke open in shipping. Ha

I'm almost done with Volume 3 of Chobits (the 20th Anniversary Edition), so far it has been an incredible beautiful story and one that, surprisingly, it is really relevant today, way more then when it originally came out given the nature of it and how many people nowadays prefer the company of a computer, an electronic, as opposed to actual people, plus the slowly release of "robots/dolls" for company and even pleasure that has been coming out and has been making headlines in the last few years. Definitely recommend the manga and specially that edition, it is gorgeous.
I'm surprised you were able to find Ubel Blatt that is a very oop series to come by good haul!

Good to know I'm not the only one whose favorite character is Future Trunks Omar!!! If we ever get Fullmetal Alchemist in oversized or Deluxe format treatment like Blade of the Immortal may double dip for that no hesitation

Great Manga Haul Omar, I had a question , do you think you can ask your contact at Viz if they have any plans to release the Dragon ball kanzenban edtion of the manga like Japan did? Many fans consider that the defentive version of the manga especially because it has all of the color pages :), Great video as always brother!

I’ve wanted to get the Naruto, DragonBall, DragonBallZ, and One Piece box sets for awhile... but haven’t pulled the trigger. Not sure where I’d keep the box sets, I think I’d rather just keep them on the shelf. 😅
I've been searching everywhere for both Dragon ball and Dragon ball Z box sets, but either are out of stock or going for expensive amounts money. I hope some day Viz will do a haikyu!! Box set.

the db you may sell this version and have the 3 in 1 the first saga and the z saga.Even for naruto you may have the 3 in 1 edition until the last volume
My brother has the box sets of Dragon Ball and I would like to get the series myself, but I was curious what the best way to own them was. From my short research people recommended the Full Color collections the most, but they only collect the saiyan saga and namek/Frieza saga and I’d rather not own the manga in different versions lol

FMA (all the 3-in-1s)
Bleach (Almost all the 3-in-1s, except for the final arc)
Gantz (Just the first 3-in-1, mainly cause I'm hoping DH puts out deluxe editions of that series I can buy asp)

I want to read the Dragon Ball manga but I don’t know what order to read them in. I looked it up but I’m not sure if it’s the right order. The order I found is: dragon ball, dragon ball super, dragon ball z, and dragon ball gt. Is that correct? Or am I missing something?

I really don't understand why kodansha didn't make this chobbits edition the same size of Sakura collector's edition =/, even Clover was printed in that bigger size!. By the way, I'm hopping Kodansha to release more Clamp hardcovers (have you seen the german RG Veda collectors edition???). By the way, the kodansha boxset i'm patiently waiting to be announced is the Sailor Moon eternal edition one 😶😶

Omar, to justify your Dragon Ball (the first one) box set purchase, there’s different levels of censorship with the various versions. The individuals aren’t as censored as the vizbig versions.
I used to have the Tankōbon so i remember it’s was less censored .

Definitely Kodansha, their releases are a lot more premium and hardcover, average is 20 dollars and up for a volume of manga, compared to vizs 10 dollars a volume
It depends on the size and quality. Hardcover and bigger volumes are going to cost more
