That was badass! Just about as old school LA as it gets these days with the double siding apartment stabs and bottom channel dumpsters. Even better that you caught an old Octo doing the route, and to top it off, driver ran the truck extremely well. What an awesome find. Great job Bubu!!!
That was awesome! I know this truck has sorta been in the back of everyone’s mind for a long time so it’s cool that you guys finally caught it. As a kid I remember often times in my area at least it seemed like haulers had anti-staging policies when it came to apartment stops so the front loader and scout always ran the route together which made for a much slower process. Being that stabs are regularly hard to come across in LA I thought that was really cool to see! The half blade with a follower setup allows for those very interesting packing with the bin in the hopper shots, so unusual for a front loader. Awesome video!
Thanks Tony! Yeah those scout and front loader combos were a familiar sight when I was younger and to this day lol. The stabs made it a 100x more interesting to film. Thanks for the comment!
Your footage came out great!! Great to finally see a full length video of this truck. I had just learned not too long ago that it was barely a 2003, always thought it was older but nonetheless that means it’ll stick around longer (hopefully). Like Aaron mentioned the bottom slot dumpsters are much more entertaining to watch.
Haha as soon as I got home after we filmed this I checked the plate on carfax. I was surprised it was a 2003 lol. Bottom channel dumpsters will always be my fave. Thanks for the comment Cesar!
Bottom slot dumpsters and Amrep Octo, it really is SoCal style trash collection at it's finest. Can't help but notice she sounds an awful alot like the LABOS Amrep bulk front loaders, specifically the Condors, unusual sound for an Xpeditor in my opinion. Is she a CNG conversion or not? Skilled operator at the controls too, he barely spilled anything. Also couldn't help but notice that Kenworth hauling that oversized load with a transformer at 3:00. That was a neat cameo as loads like that aren't something you see everyday.
Lol I was waiting for someone to say something about that oversized load. It isn’t a CNG convert or anything like that, best case scenario is they did some sort of engine rebuild or a newer Cummins engine. Thanks for the comment!
