Thanks for making this video. It was really cool to see your process! I need new belts for my MT100 and my MT400 is missing the door but otherwise works. Funny to me that we have some of the same gear, although yours are in better shape. You've motivated me to order parts to get my MT100 working again. Honestly, I might "cheat" and use a digital multitrack until I get my second tape machine fixed. I also don't have a Volca Keys but I have a Volca FM and a guitar and one of those steel tongue drums. So I feel like I can experiment with ambient. Maybe with practice I can sound as good as you. ;-)
Thanks! I must confess I'm stuck with that. Making videos is totally consuming all my free time and I can't really focus on music marking right now. After all I'm not a pro, I'm just a guy having fun in his home studio. We'll see!
Wondering if the stereo sound from the first 4-track recorder is fed into 2 dictaphones, hmmm I might try out. Well done mate. You engaged my creativity too 😊
I liked the version without reverb more. I have always preferred raw oscillators more, it brings up the emphasis on composition, reverb just blurs it out.
Thanks for your feedback. In this case I think I agree with you, after listening to it again: the cassette version has some row magic that gets lost with digital reverb
Really nice, and "We are here for the fun, not for making sense" is now my favourite explanation for everything. Thanks for the video.
😆
Nice, I don't have the Volca but this has given me the inspiration to try something with my Roland J-6.
Any good synth can do the job! Have fun
Very inspiring what you can do with just a Volca Keys!:)
Very nice to go back in time with tape recorders, brings back beautiful and bad memories at the same time. Very nice result.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Great work, even without the digital "cheat".
Thank you sir

Go for it. The minimal set-ups are the best for drawing out creativity. I always work better, with a handful of Sound sources.
Yes, I'm sure that with your setup you can have a lot of fun already and make some greta music.
Amazing work!
muy bueno, gracias por compartir!
Soubnds vintage and massive as well in some Lo fi way
This was so enjoyable. Loved what you did. Out comes my tape deck :)
Great!
When the album?!👍👍

You can get a great lo-fi effect! I have a couple of dictaphones too, I could try something
Well done
I miss my old tascam 4track cassette recorder 😢 Maybe I will buy a ridiculous over priced rebuilt one.🙄
I Always wanted a tascam too but they are so pricey indeed

Very cool experiment - love the sound of the Volca keys
