I am bingeing on Hockney and trying different viewpoints to get under the skin of his work......his mind is quite incredible
I'm doing the exact same thing! So fun
The more I see, hear, watch, look more deeply into Hockney and his work the more I like him. As an ignorant youngster just moved to California in the eighties, I'd scoffed at his polaroid assemblages. Interesting to hear what he says about photography here (41:50), considering the enormous place it was to take in his art in the future. His modesty and naturalness is so enchanting I'd love anything he does.
David has got more comfortable with himself as he has got older He is quite shy and reserved. My God I wonder how he could like LA where Meghan Markle and Harry are.
If hockney isn't put up there as being equal to Picasso, he's underrated.
I feel like I’d be his ideal boyfriend. I’m interested in art, and have an eye of my own, but i’d happily dedicate my life to helping him express his genius. I can see us, sat in some cottage somewhere, by a fire, while he riffs about art, and i make us coco.
Sorry to hear about your other eye.

Long intro! David Hockney...a very modest man. Shame about the bad recording.
shame 🤦🤣 it's from 1992
Am I the only one who thinks he looks like Phil Donahue?
yes
I can see it.
She interviews like a school child. Just asks questions but doesn't draw on what he says. Terrible interviewer.
I've just come here from seeing him interviewed by Jeremy Isaacs and this interviewer was worlds better than he was.
Hilary Clinton?!? What are you doing here?
What a creepy woman!!.
That’s how ladies of her class spoke back then.
