I finally went to nursing school right when I turned 40 and it was the best decision! I got my LPN and went back for my RN. We are scheduled to graduate this July. My closest classmates are turning 50 next month and the other one is 49! We also have another girl in our class who is 53!

Sometimes, I wish I had done it earlier, but everything is in God's perfect timing. I agree with you-it is never too late, and we are never too old. Everyone who wants to do it can definitely do it.

Good for you! It's never too late. I was 52 when I went back to school to try to become a nurse. Finally passed the TEAS about two years later and was accepted to nursing school when I was about 54 years old. I decided that I didn't have what it took, so I dropped out. But I think for those who are never willing to give up, they'll succeed. Good luck.

I am now 42 y/o and I was in Nursing school when I was 23 but quit during clinicals. I ended up getting Masters in Accounting... It was the easiest for me. I am about to go for it. It feels good because I can go for this career out of passion versus needing a job that pays. I already make good money so to some this would seem insane. LOL! I'm a medical social worker but my passion has always been direct patient care at the bedside. I worked as a CNA for 19 years which was the best way at the time to do what I love while providing for my children. I agree with you that it seemed like it was never the right time at that time to focus on trying to get into nursing school. Ultimately, I went to school and earned my degree in social work but I still felt unfulfilled. Thankfully, I can now focus on that dream and making it come true. I'm so excited for what's to come. Having older peers in my cohort is honestly a blessing I learn some many things from them how to advocate for myself, how to study, time management, the importance of valuing your time and life, etc. You are not to old to follow your dreams and you never know who’s life you touch whose story you inspire simply by being who you are. I just came across your video. I am 42 years old, and I have been battling this school thing for over 15 years. Now I am in my 1st semester and so overwhelmed.
I turn 47 next month and I start my clinicals in the Spring. I have my degrees in Business management and Healthcare Administration and have been an EMT and Medical Assistant for 26 years. Because of my age I get nervous when I think about my clinicals with younger students. A friend of mine started nursing school this year as well and she too is 47. We are never too old to dream a new dream.

I just turned 43 and been a LPN for four years. I have hesitated the past two years to get my RN. I'm starting two of my pre req this summer. Praying to get in the program next year God's will.

I’m so glad I came across your channel, I’ve been wanting to be a nurse for a very long time like you, the more I got older the more I started giving up on it and putting my focus on my daughter who will be graduating high school next year, I’m struggling with the reality of having to leave a $35+ hrly job right now take a pay cut just to be able to work a schedule that’ll allow me to go back to school, I go to bed dreaming about nursing I wake up thinking about it everyday and I’m tired of not being able to do what I’ve always wanted to do, so for the last couple days I’ve been researching schools I plan on making 2024 the year to just say screw it & I’m gone just do it…there’s so much I don’t do because of all of the negative thoughts feelings & beliefs & I just want to be the type of woman before I’m dead and gone that my kids can say…”I admire her for never giving up and doing what she always had in her heart to accomplish” I would like to ask what 20 month program did you find and at what school?
Hey beautiful thank you for watching. The pay cut was hard but it only last for little while. My school is in Pennsylvania and I also work there so I don’t disclose where it is. But it’s definitely 20 months and it flew by! Just set out to do it and get it done!

I love this.. just what I was looking for. I will be 45 this year..my children are almost grown. I need a new spark in my life. My goal is to become a travel nurse.. I want to be free to travel the world and not be tied down to a permanent job. I’m willing to sacrifice a year as a permanent employee but after that it’s off to the races.

I work fulltime a mommy and in a relationship. I pray that God allows me to get through this program. I have tried twice in the past and life was lifing. Because of my age I get nervous when I think about my clinicals with younger students. A friend of mine started nursing school this year as well and she too is 47. We are never too old to dream a new dream.

How's it going? I'm 43, no college degree but have considered MANY times to become an LPN. I'm scared I won't be able to keep up with much younger people and make a fool of myself lol. I've always wanted to be in nursing but I feel like getting a college degree plus RN might be too much and lpn would be perfect for me!

I’m so glad I came across your channel, I’ve been wanting to be a nurse for a very long time like you, the more I got older the more I started giving up on it and putting my focus on my daughter who will be graduating high school next year, I’m struggling with the reality of having to leave a $35+ hrly job right now take a pay cut just to be able to work a schedule that’ll allow me to go back to school, I go to bed dreaming about nursing I wake up thinking about it everyday and I’m tired of not being able to do what I’ve always wanted to do, so for the last couple days I’ve been researching schools I plan on making 2024 the year to just say screw it & I’m gone just do it…there’s so much I don’t do because of all of the negative thoughts feelings & beliefs & I just want to be the type of woman before I’m dead and gone that my kids can say…”I admire her for never giving up and doing what she always had in her heart to accomplish” I would like to ask what 20 month program did you find and at what school?
Hey beautiful thank you for watching. The pay cut was hard but it only last for little while. My school is in Pennsylvania and I also work there so I don’t disclose where it is. But it’s definitely 20 months and it flew by! Just set out to do it and get it done!

I love this.. just what I was looking for. I will be 45 this year..my children are almost grown. I need a new spark in my life. My goal is to become a travel nurse.. I want to be free to travel the world and not be tied down to a permanent job. I’m willing to sacrifice a year as a permanent employee but after that it’s off to the races.

I just turned 40 last December and just decided to go back to school to become a RN. I’m so nervous and have 8 prerequisites to complete. I will be starting school this fall. I work fulltime a mommy and in a relationship. I pray that God allows me to get through this program. I have tried twice in the past and life was lifing.
