Took my Yamato out for a cruise, saw that there was a Montana, and noped right out of there, I thought it was spartan coming in with some serious firepower, it wasn’t though.

I'm sure you know, but, if you're close like in that clip just aim under their front turrets at the waterline, usually a dev strike on broadside yamatos

The engine boost actually *reduces* acceleration in reverse… meaning that contrary to what it *should* do, it makes it take longer for a ship to change forward momentum into backwards momentum. It also reduces the maximum reverse speed when active.
It functions as it should when doing the opposite however. Unclear if this is a bug or intended.
Hey I think I saw you in the Montana in a game yesterday! I was rushing to cap In Minotaur but you rounded a corner in Montana, caught me super off guard, I couldn’t retreat cause I was cornered so I suicide rushed and sent 2 waves of Torpedos towards you and the people pushing with you and the second one dev struck you after you dev struck me in the first few minutes or something of the match. Good game!
Yeah my Alaska next to me didn't know what AP was so when I left you alive I knew I was in trouble... but still ended that game with 100k damage and top of my team in xp. GG

Yamato can overmatch Montana's bow armor. In a 1v1 Yamato vs Montana bow tanking duel, the Yamato should win that engagement 9 out of 10 times.
Großer Kurfürst has bow armor that cannot be overmatched, she has an overall better armor scheme with more hit points, and she has the option to mount bigger guns.. So, why doesn't Montana at least get 40mm bow armor? Montana should have the same 40mm bow armor that Großer Kurfürst has.
@Zombie Kitty the only thing you can do defensively in a brawl is show them your angled armor belt and attempt to bait them into shooting that. But against a player that knows what he's doing, he's not going to shoot at your armored belt, he's going to shoot at your bow or stern and if either become completely damage saturated and the Montana is still alive then they will finish him off with superstructure hits.
As the Montana player going against a bow tanking Yamato, there isn't much that can be done offensively besides shoot at her superstructure, try to disable/destroy the front guns, or if you are far enough away where plunging fire can get through the deck. You can shoot HE but the HE damage and fire chance of American shells are both extremely poor.
I can understand why the Conqueror doesn't have a 40mm bow, she has incredible HE that can win in a bow tanking brawl pretty easily, even against a Yamato.
@Zombie Kitty I have never played the PC version, I play Xbox. I've been playing Legends since the beta and am a supertester. I'm a solo player with a 64%WR (which is very respectable for a solo Legends player. I've never even heard of a sweaty division player coming close to having a 94%WR in Legends. A 94%WR means you've won 17860 games and only lost 1140 games.. In Legends, that would be absolutely insane.).
The Montana literally just came to the bureau about 2 months ago so most players don't have it. The bureau is a bullshit way to get endgame ships. (If you have all the ships it takes about 2 months to get a bureau ship without spending money. With money and all the ships it takes a little more than a month.). Montanas have literally just started appearing in Legends.
The games are really quite different from what I hear. You can tell just by looking at the armor viewer. If you have never played Legends then idk why we are even having this conversation.
It does, and if the Montana gets excited, and turns its over. She can take out the yammy's guns pretty easily though. The yammy will die if it's caught broadside. Almost instantly lol.

At least someone is having fun at legendary tier. All I ever get is endless island camping HE spam and absolute bricks of teammates who all cluster together, running into each other behind one island occasionally taking pot shots at each other. Sure glad I waited all that time and did all that indirect grinding for Yamato...
I have much more consistent fun and tier 3-5. In my experience, tier 7 and legendary are almost complete garbage to play most of the time. The most fun I've had is tier 3 battleships and the occasional tier 5 carrier just to mix it up. Is it like this most of the time for you guys or an I just having really bad luck with matchmaking?
The montana would have won in real life the 3 extra 16 inch 50 barrels and the higher rate of fire excellent range finders and radar and 3 extra guns montana would have had probably something like 90% chance of hitting first and in the first few salvo's and a very good chance of hitting in just the second salvo as the more guns you have the quicker you can find the range
Whats the gun calibre of monty?
406mm or 16 inch guns and they are 50 caliber
