The launchers that are mounted on the side (or guns) are called Coaxial mounts. And ones in the middle are called centerline mount.

Im using the same captain on my french destroyers. But im using the smoke skill over the destroy or be destroyed skill. The reason why is because french destroyers are already very fast but it decreases ur shell grouping. And i know most french destroyers dont have smoke, but the smoke skill has no negative effects. This is why.
A french destroyer will outrun everything. But i want the guns to be accurate for when i need them.

I have destroyed several le fanatsques with my gunboat build Lightning. Once they spot me they activate their reload boost so all I have to do is disengage with one of my plenty smoke screens. Afted that I attack and their 6sec reload is no match for my 3,7sec. So I guees a gunboat Lightning with Sims as an inspiration is as if not more formidable as a Z23 or a Fletcher.
Ohhhh so that is why that ship always kicked my ass!! 😂😂 Damn that thing is fast ! ..... Can the vauqueline go into a fist fight with that ship? .. ... ..... My friend as usual excellent job! Thumbs up!! 👍👍

i use same build without the torp range. froggy DD's don't really do well in DD fights. Slow turret traverse means sacrificing either manoeuvrability or DPM, both vital in a DD fight, and the bullets seem slow. Fantasque is an outstanding BB killer, but Lightening still The Boss.
11:15 - when drop spot, reverse back into cap, helm hard over and use torps from other side on Sinop.
17:45 - fighting the Aki, when sat still most players expect you to go forward. Hit reverse to duke the first salvo, then full forward as soon as he shoots.

The Fantasque with reload booster eats other destroyers but that only for the first fight also I believe fletcher is a better gunboat then lighting
@@lordredlead2336 between the two I think it's down to preference and which one you're more comfortable with. i prefer the Lightening's gun layout, firing angles, ballistics and the 360 degree turrets. Add the single fire torps, smokes and bingbong, I think the Lightning is a better overall DD. There's no denying the Fletcher's reload is fearsome, but Lightening has all the tools.
These destroyers are similar to the Soviet DDs. You want to keep your distance from other DDs. Use your speed to hit and run. Being 3km from a Fletcher or Lighting is bad news.
Spartan if you use the skill "going all"out on Philippe, the concealment of the ship can fall all the way down to 4.5 km concealment, and if you used the polish commander it could go down even more. i would reccomend giving it a try.
Yeah but that concealment is only while the engine boost enabled, it's great if you want to pair that with Viollette's base trait, it will make disengaging from a bad situation easier. But if you run Fragile Threat and Aboyneau with high ranked Bey and Swirsky (and put permanent camo on it) you'll have constant stealth to rival stealth build British and Japanese DD's.
My Aboyneau and Bey are both rank 16 Legendary 2 with Swirsky rank 12 Legendary 1 and camo and my Le Fantasque has 4.9km detectability all the time. Was a rank up Swirsky it'll get even lower. And If I ever have enough Commendations to get Bey and Swirsky to Legendary 3 it'll be ridiculously stealthy. Though that's unlikely as that's 7 Commendations. And Legendary 4 is probably damn near impossible.
It may be true it’s momentarily stealth but all you need to do to when it’s down it play as if you were a American dd, plus you can still torp reliably even when it is down but it’s great catching Japanese and British dds with their pants down since once you pop your main battery reload boost they are dead for the most part and since you are so fast once you clean up the dd you can disengage really quickly
Basically it lets you make plays you would normally struggle to do and make certain plays no other ship can do like torp a battle ship from 4.3km away with 80knt torps from the shadows

I think French DD's are dangerous and may possibly be the 2nd best destroyer line in the game.
Just yesterday happened something as you noticed - people desperately trying to throw away the match, I am on icarus going to capture the base where 2 our battleships (quite damaged) already started capture, one pensacola also going to help, and on the enemy side 2 battleships left, actually two Queens, heading in reverse somewhere on the edge of the map, but probably in a gun reach for their base...
So, our team instead of concealment and winning, stopped capturing and went for a fight... and, of course, they were destroyed... so, I reached the base and started capturing too, though regarding the time we surely were going to win on points. So! Pensacola, as soon as she entered the capture, started firing and was destroyed, leaving me alone vs two Queens with the time ended and luckily we won 407:393!!!
Looking forward to getting this. Seems like the first capable torpedo boat since jaguar.
Have had Le Terible for a few months now so im familiar with the anoying floatiness of the guns and huge turning circle.

I do wish they had mogador, she is a historically built ship and a true powerhouse, though fantasque is what I think is the first true fun french dd.

It doesn't matter to wargaming if the ship was built or not. Shit if they cared the majority of the Russian Navy wouldn't exist in game.
Ishizuki, amagi, dallas, monarch, yorck, Bayern never existed in the way he does in game, he was scrapped as a result of the treaty of versailles, same with konig, Gneisenau never received 15in guns and GK was never even laid down just a paper design, Normandie and Lyon were paper designs and their paper designs were different than how they exist in game. Charlemagne and Charles Martel are paper designs of the St Louis class which never got past the design stage before France surrendered. All Russian battleships besides gangut were paper ships. The only battleship russia laid down during ww2 was sovetsky soyuz and he doesn't exist in our game at all.
So kleber could very easily be the legendary french destroyer they don't care wether the ships existed or not.

I'm a diehard Le Terrible fan so I'm salivating for Le Fantasque. But the torps on the Frenchies always seem to have that one torp in the spread that vears off leaving a gap the perfect size for the enemy BB to fit through. But, this thing is Le Terrible but better, can't wait to unlock it.
Boost Philippe to R16 L3 you'll have torp range to 9.6ks , or focus on torps reload brings them down to 55sec @8k . An if you change the other legendary perk you can reach speeds of 58.4 knots
my concealment on her is 4.9 .
My highest damage was 268k the record is 269k.
This is my favourite boat in the game, and Im a BB main.....that said I catch random torps a little too often.... bulleting along at 55knots and a sluggish turn radius means if I plunge into a torp shot I got next to no reaction time lol
The most rounded destroyer is probably the lightning as it has way better torpedo capabilities also has a long hydro duration has smoke which doesn’t have the longest duration but it’s viable and you get many charges and it’s a got a quick recharge also the guns are really good I think they re 120mm but you got 6 housed in 3 turrets of 2 they can rotate 360* also have rapid reload and can shred through destroyers and has good fire starting capabilities

Have you thought about trying a Fournet build? With him having the +1 consumable legendary skill and decent destroyer perks (Camo, torp speed, etc.), you could run Fantasque with 2 main battery reloads. Could be a good way to catch people off guard
means giving up Torpedo Safari. Generic Captains lie Fournet, Jerricoe, Dewey can be used, but specialist DD commanders are always stronger.
none Just figured for DDs with special consumables (like MBL), it could be more interesting. I’ve heard some have had success with a fully packed Dewey on the Kidd, as then it gets three instead of two heals. With two reload boosters, that could mean 2 dead destroyers in separate engagements instead of having to be selective with only one or misusing it early and screwing yourself over
@@abyss7539 - Dewey/Kidd is a meme build. Try Fournet, but don't waste promo orders on it because you give up far too much for an extra reload boost.

Spartan try her out with a full gun build (as well as range mod) she is an amazing harasser and should be used on the outskirts of the map to attract the attention of the enemies. You can then use the mobility and speed to dodge as well as its excellent range to keep enemies at a distance, this way you spot for your team while racking up potential dmg... it excels at dealing with cruisers and annoying BB's with DD's being a bonus if they over extend and you catch them off guard.
The only problem with that is not being able to sneak around when needed to capture bases
@@SpartanElite43 yeah but to be fair the French (and russian) "DD's" aren't really dd's they're more or less small cruisers. distracting and kiting is what they do best, capturing bases is typically better suited for DD's like the USN, RN, KM and IJN (though the IJN really shouldn't either as seen in this video... they are best used to flank and spot) capping bases should only be a priority after you clear a flank with these ships. Otherwise if there had been a RN or a USN DD with a competent team they could just out spot you and leave you for their teammates.
viable but not optimal. ideally you want to close in launch torps and fire 3rd set of torps as you run away. by time torps hit - and hopefully flood - you're at max dakadaka range and can use excellent 10% fire chance to light them up. With torpedo safari, the torps are ready to go again and you can rinse and repeat. froggies have guns, but they're not gunboats.
@@none3763 The french and Russians have Superior gun range for a reason as well as the biggest detection range among all dd's they're mostly meant to stay at range as up close other dd's will be able to out play them with smoke and spotting. I bring this strategy from PC where people who get unimaginable results play them more like kiting cruisers. and even though the games are somewhat different the ships are the same and so are the strategies. You can play for caps if you want but you will be out spotted and killed. if you want torpedoes go for the japanese don't use the French. I've had upwards of 120k dmg games in my Le Fantasque, kiting and using my guns... th torps are a bonus and although useful are no where near as dependable as your guns which can rip enemy cruisers apart.

Spartan my current build I feel like the ship doesnt feel agile at all. Idk if it just me but it seem to turn like a regular tier 7 destroyer and those reload time for me are about as bad as the Japenese dd

Gun boat fantasque is really good with range builds, I've done some really stupid shit in mine without taking to much damage, the trick is dodging, and I have my concealment down to 5km so the shorter range on the torps isn't detrimental. Also spartan when are you gonna showcase the trashcan? Oops sorry Tashkent

I hate playing destroyers because I feel like i trade half my hp everytime in the first part of the battle.
fantasque reclassed light cruiser by the US navy we wait the Free french ; with radar sonar and AA ( like the Kidd ) but she lost 3 torpédos she is nerved in the truth she shot until 10 miles she could shot an still stealth

I was in the Helena today I had on my team a vangAurd an Odin a Bismarck and tirpitz and every single one of them reversed to the back of the map at the start and got picked off by Iowa and Jean Bart on Emmy team, like come on people Odin and Bismarck are brawlers why are you backing up?
