These is ABBA, the iconic Swedish pop group, the best, most versatile and most important group of the 70s, in the post BEATLES decade (the revolutionary group of the 60s)

"Dancing Queen" (1976) is a beautiful song, which shines in the loftiness of its vocal harmonies
And the music is bright and enveloping, from the initial chord it introduces you into the atmosphere of the disco and invites you to dance
English public has voted it as one of the songs they want to hear the most, because of the feeling of joy and energy it gives them (another is "Don't stop me now" by Queen)
and "Dancing Queen" was included in the Hall of Fame of Rock and Pop Music in 2015

ABBA begin to be famous in 1974, when They won the Eurovision Song Contest in UK with their iconic song "Waterloo"

This song and video are masterpieces. Iconic. I'm a metal fan but this is my childhood.
I grew up with all the fabulous music from the 60's - 80's. ABBA was one of my favorites. They had lots of hits & I owned many of their albums. I can't think of a bad song by them. Some of their best are "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme", "Thank You For The Music", "Does Your Mother Know?", "Waterloo", "Money, Money, Money", "The Name Of The Game", "Super Trouper", "I Have A Dream", "Voulez-Vous", "Fernando", "Chiquitita", "Take A Chance On Me", "Mamma Mia", "SOS", "Knowing Me, Knowing You" etc. Nice to see that they are back together again recording after all these years.
I know most of these songs from the movie "mamma mia" but it'd be nice to check the originals out. Thank you 😊

Love, love ABBA!!! I used to sing with them that in a recent discussion with my mother, she said that she got sick of hearing ABBA😂. I loved Momma Mia, the song The Winner Takes Them All, such a sad true story, but I love that. Voulez-vous is a really good one too, I really love them all, and the fact that they came back together after all these years, so nostalgic ❤️. Thank you Sarah, made me smile as usual.

Fabulous reaction to a fabulous song.
When I first heard this song, it was at the time of it's initial release in the mid 1970's. I remember thinking that it would "bomb", It was just so different from their previous more up-tempo releases..! How, wrong was I....!!! Probably ABBA's greatest hit and now even 48years later, it still bring a smile and an urge to dance.. I am now 73, but ABBA's music is Ageless...!!

You refer to the film "mamma mia" from 2008, but dancing queen was a hyper success in Europe and elsewhere in 1976 and number 1 in the USA in 1977 🤣😅. What's really amazing is that the members of ABBA never learned English. They had to learn the words phonetically in order to sing in English.
They did learn English. Bjorn is very fluent in English. Benny is also very good in English. The ladies are not bad either
