Hello. You have a good regiment. I use to do many of the same practices for a successful breeding season. If you have shaft tailed finches available there, they are beautiful and easy to breed. Your owl finch male should have a larger, wider black chest band and more black on top of the head. Good luck and take care.
I started this hobby with shaft tailed finches, beautiful birds maybe I will go back to them. I checked the black chest band and head, one is a little bigger but not by much
What you are calling owl finches, are Australian double barred finches. They are from very hot climates in northern and eastern Australia, and I imagine you would have trouble keeping them in a cold climate.
Yes I know they have multiple names. They can withstand the cold amazingly well. All these generations bred into relatively cold weather have evolved the species
Hey man awesome video! And btw are you coincidentally from the Netherlands? because if i get a little lucky i might get new parrot finches in somewhere in march.
😂 ik was ook benieuwd, maar ook NL’er dus. Leuk om in de “keuken” bij een andere liefhebber te kijken. Zelf nú Blauwkopblauwfazantjes en granaatastrildes zitten. Good luck all !
@@MrAviary blacktailed hawfinch i think that bird is biggest finch and smarter than other finch (that is very smart finch) i love to watch and wait for you to have 1 pair at least.

So when do you start giving egg
2 weeks before they get their nestboxes but very little
My conures had 4 fertile eggs out of 5 they all died im guessing because if change in the environment, and the temperature
That could be one of the reasons
@@MrAviary how long do you think it will be before a second clutch
