I breed the yellows here in Australia, it's a massive taboo here cross breeding the 2 colors, people here breed red to red or yellow to yellow. Besides that great video and good information 👍
Thats a great question Michael Bell. I shoulf have maybe been a bit more clear when explaining that part. First of all remember all pairs arent the same you have to know what your pairs are willing to accept and the only way to find out is through trial and error. Most of my pairs will accept banding the chicks by day 9 its very unlikely parrents will abandon. Its not like when they have eggs or are starting to lay eggs. During that time is checking the nest could ve a big problem, but once the chicks reach this age they beg so hard the parrents cant resisnt their natural instincts to go back and feed. Also try to band while the parents are out busy looking for food never scare them away from the nest in order to band. Hope this explains it a bit better.
