It was great to see Revy (briefly and oh dear), Hesperia (with a cameo appearance by a vulture or raptor), and Skykomish again; I've really missed them. The revamped Horseshoe Curve cam (with deer!) and the new Lafayette one both look great, and it's always neat to watch a grinder work. The hydrogen-powered engine was interesting; I didn't even know they existed. Another great one--and please tell Joe Peach that we miss him and are wishing him well!
Two heritage units representing four different roads in one lashup, LV (8104), NS (1047), CP (8003) and NKP (8100). Awesome. Great compilation. Thank you.
Just your usual Atlanta drivers though. Red lights, Stop signs, Laws in general, all just minor suggestions that are not enforced in any way. If the car wasn't stolen, then there's a very good chance the driver did not carry any insurance on it. Of course this is just speculation but unfortunately it's way too common in Atlanta. The common law-abiding citizen gets punished twice for being a common law-abiding citizen.
I’m really loving the text on many of the clips! I like to train watch but I’m not fluent in what train is what. The text helps me a lot on what I’m supposed to be looking at :)
Those getting stuck on the tracks were amusing. Enjoyed your video showing Norfolk & Southern going through downtown Sweetwater, TN. In the background was an old railroad passenger carriage named Sweetwater. In the same parking lot is a local ice cream shop named Sweetwater Creamery. They make their own ice cream. An excellent stop if you are a rail and ice cream fan. Recently saw a Virtual Railfan automobile travel through Athens, TN at the intersection of Decatur Pike and Congress Ave .
Seeing a Pennsylvania RR coach on Horseshoe Curve is great. The Fort Worth and Western geeps look good. Y'all forgot the boing sounds for each time a car went on the tracks.
IT'S ME!!! YES!!! THANK YOU!!! 11:15 You put my waving at the time where the digits are the same as my birthday, too?!?! That's amazing! It's gonna be impossible to get a better birthday present than this!
The digits say 12:21:48 so you were born in 1948? Wow you look very young for a 75 year old! Congrats on a long life well lived, and happy 76th birthday here in a month or so. =P
15:21 Not really train related but Lafayette, IN is the home of not 1 but 2 of the remaining Dog n Suds drive ins. That is quite the variety of Amtrak cars, though.
Reading and 2 Lehigh Valley awesome. Lehigh Valley and Nickel Plate Road together a scene from late in their existence running shared power from Bellevue Ohio to the Lehigh Valley in Buffalo and points east
This has to be the best grab bag I’ve ever watched. No weird sound effects, odd transitions, zooms or long pauses, just shots of the trains with even some helpful information text. Fantastic job, this was truly a relaxing video to watch.
I haven't been watching for awhile, but what I am seeing is a big difference from camera to camera. In some parts of this video, I see very clear images, yet, in other camera scenes, I see very blurry trees and shrubs.
The train and truck sideswiped one another. After damage assessment, with a bit to the side of the locomotive, the train began to move slowly again. Once it passed through town, we could see the damage to the back of the tractor trailer. It had canvas sides, and the end was damaged and open. It was allowed to drive off, though.
Because when there's not a train on the road, a truck can fit down that road just fine! there's at least 23 hours a day where trains do not go down the road. That truck could have been more judicious at maintaining a clearance gap though.
The truck has a track warrant issued by the dispatcher granting main track use between two named points, such as mile posts or what have you. No other movements are allowed in that stretch until the track has been cleared by the vehicle (or train) and verified by the dispatcher.
Yes, the high rail truck has clearance to be on the track but they also have constant radio contact with the dispatcher and surrounding trains to know when one is coming at them on the other track. It is nerve racking if you are not used to it - especially if you are on foot - but it is second nature to seasoned maintenance of way workers.
It's good to see more information given about some of the rolling stock. That was my biggest complaint about this channel. I learn very little from watching it, so I stopped viewing as much. Hope to see more info in future videos.
I wonder. Are the passengers on the private railcars pulled by Amtrak ever able to walk to the Amtrak car they are coupled to.? You know, like the Dining Car? I always enjoyed Dining Car meals on Amtrak.
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, I like them, they're awesome, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much and have a nice day and night.
never a dull moment in La Grange
Good job on the Grab bag

The consist😂
That is the most unusual Amtrak consist I have ever seen lol.
I'm glad VRF now has a camera that shows equipment being moved to and from Beech Grove
@@MrBnsftrain Oh is that what happened there?
@@Zetharion1 Yep, this camera is just northwest of Beech Grove, which is outside of Indianapolis

Cool catches VRF!!!
Super grab bag VRF. I love these.
That lady with the tripod at Folkston: does holding one leg high in the air give better photos? I'll have to try that!
Variety, is great! Better than watching 200 cars go by on a single view.
Whomever edited this grab bag, BRAVO! 🎉 The explanations and transitions are throughly enjoyable.

Love the Milwaukee Road hopper. I used to have some in my model railroad Not many left in service

LaGrange, KY and Ashland, VA look so much alike, that I can only tell the difference by the number of tracks!
That one SUV in Ashland... I mean... it wasn't just the tracks, they completely ignored a tanker truck as well.
Welcome back. Very badly miss.
I think Mr. Peach is still out.

I really don't know how those people get their cars stuck on the tracks, it's like they do it on purpose, it is completely avoidable
Alcohol plays a big part in driving onto the tracks
Believing the GPS and at night things can get more confusing...and yes 🍹🍹may be involved...

Hi, Haven't been able to watch for a while. Has Chehalis been removed?
Thanks for the compilation. How old can freight cars be before they must legally be retired?
I think 50 years - not sure. I think nothing made in or before 1974 can be in general service on any mainline railroad.
hydrogen loco paired to a wood car.
Great grab bag. I wonder if the pick-up driver at 1:46 may have been over-sampling the local micro-brews.
Nothing from Springfield Ma in a long time.
Did the train in La Grange end up stopping because of the 18 wheeler?
The train and truck sideswiped one another. After damage assessment, with a bit to the side of the locomotive, the train began to move slowly again. Once it passed through town, we could see the damage to the back of the tractor trailer. It had canvas sides, and the end was damaged and open. It was allowed to drive off, though.

7:02 Union Pacific steam train withouthe steam locomotive?
Why are there so many engines blurry. Is it on purpose for some reason?
Can you put a camera up in amtraks Atlanta station
How do you do that in LaGrange in daylight?

Mechanical failures don't get penalized as pollution for anyone mate. But soapbox more.

I am guessing the driver was going to make a left turn but didn't see the truck until the last moment and panicked, driving onto the tracks.

At 06:20 would the workers in their truck have a heads-up that trains are coming at them on the opposite track?
The truck has a track warrant issued by the dispatcher granting main track use between two named points, such as mile posts or what have you. No other movements are allowed in that stretch until the track has been cleared by the vehicle (or train) and verified by the dispatcher.
@J3scribe Thank you. I was just curious if the people in the work truck would know what is coming at them in the opposite direction.
