  • James O'Brien on the worst thing that Boris Johnson has ever done.
'When he sent Jacob Rees-Mogg to give the Queen unlawful advice about the prorogation of Parliament, that blew away the last scintilla of possible sincerity in the Brexit campaign.'

Is it really a surprise to anyone by now that we are being led by the incompetent. You just cannot ever envisage anyone more incompetent than Boris Johnson, Rees Mogg, David Davis and some of the other half-wits that he has and has had in his Cabinet and other positions of responsibility. A responsibility which most of them evade at all costs.

"It is difficult being PM, I can't see you doing a better job than he is?"
That is an all too common feeble attempt to silence criticism of people's neglect and incompetence. If I see a plane in ten pieces in a field, it's not unreasonable for me to say someone messed up. Whether I could do a better job than the pilots, ground crew, manufacturer of the aircraft, etc, is patently irrelevant to fact that they were tasked with doing their utmost to prevent the plane from crashing.
Likewise, Johnson as leader of the elected party is tasked to uphold the integrity and values of being Prime Minister. I can't think of a PM who has failed as spectacularly in that capacity as Johnson.

There are so many disgusting things he's done and continues doing without a care. It's hard to pick one but to me the thing that will stick and impact UK society is how he planted the seed into people's minds (especially the young generation) that bullying, lying, racism, misogynism and breaking laws and rules is cool. He's like a Medieval mountbank or mummer "seducing" people and changing the ethic codex, the basic rules of human interaction and the decent conduct of a member of parliament who acts on behalf of the people who voted them into this position.
So he causes great damage to his country's international standing right now but he also causes damage to UK society for years to come. Brexit, as bad as it may be, is just a tool for him, what he really did to the UK goes far deeper.

Some may find satisfaction in this feeling of great power and being untouchable by the aurhorities at the same time. Some of them even are authorities themselves.
I can't say who is more disgusting - the youngster who doesn't use their brain to think for themselves, who doesn't use their 24/7 web-time to actually do some research, evaluation and learning or this mature person who does know better but abuses others and the system itself for their personal gain and vanity.
Bottomline: only the voters can stop this but then again... is there really an alternative?
