    Part of the "joys" of farming is stuff breaking. The difference between city folk and country is that you fixed the problem, you didn't wait to have someone else (or the government) to fix it for you. Nice video guys!

    A farmer I spoke to near colebrook, nh has his own 18 for grain both trailer and tractor were purchased used. The trailer is a 1998 and the tractor is a 1963 Mack B-81 quad box no blower or turbo and manual steering, still has the original Thermadyne Diesel. Not the fastest truck out there but gets the job done. He has been offered many deals by salesmen and demos one for an entire week during harvest but when they tell him the price he just points to the Mack and tells them " I paid $2500.00 for that tractor not as fancy or as fast as your new one but it gets the job done. Now why should I buy your new one?

    Thirty years ago my Grandpa harvested corn at 3.50 a bushel, thirty years later and the price is the same. When the rains come everyone has grain and the price is low, when the rains stay away no one has grain and the price is high. You just can't win but you can irrigate except that cost you too. I guess that's why Grandpa told me to work in a factory and forget about farming and here I am wishing I hadn't taken his advice.

    need to put a camers on auger and the back of grain cart one on auger for unloading but make sure it have night vision cause when you have the light on the auger its blocks out the camera and one the camera on the back of grain cart for going down the road to see passing cars when your about to turn and mount the monitor up high in cab so there is no sun glare on screen its a big help

    That fall looked like it really hurt. Take a clean washcloth place it in a clean bowl, pour in room temp or chilled (c is better) witch hazel soak washcloth good place around hand for 20-30 minutes very good for sprains, strain, and pain! 😌

  • @d6joe
    @d6joe 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you tighten the springs, you should only see 1/16" to 3/16" of the spring past the pipe. I think it says that in the owners book. This is to keep the chain on if a chunk of cob gets between the chain and sprocket. From the video your snapping rolls look good - speed up the feeder house some to speed up the corn head so it doesn't pull the stalk all the way back in the deck plates. From the neat areal view, you need to adjust the shield thing out some more on the hopper loading auger in the combine so the pile is centered in the hopper.

    • @d6joe
      @d6joe 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ops, maybe it was on a side hill making the pile in the combine to one side. Keep up the good videos!

    Pietsch farm. When your dealing with equipment you always have parts on hand especialy when farming because you always racing the weather or to the next job! It dosent pay to run to town every time u need a part. You should always carry spare belts, chain, a gathering chain, sprocket and spring almost everything u need to rebuild a row on a corn head or anything else!! WE DO an we hardly ever have a brake down in the field but we go threw the equipment every winter an when its out running every morning they get gone threw checked greased!! But some things u just carry with on the combine in the toolbox like bolts, chain, gathering chain, sprocket for the gathering chain!! Just good farming practice Think Ahead!!
