Love the homemade horn. It's the little things that will remind you of the small victories when you ride off into the ocean on that boat. Everytime you look at that funnel horn you will have the memory of the time you fixed the big horn. nice video
So I own a similar vintage Ford Ranger PU and couldn’t help but noticing that at ~1:30, you accidentally turned your wipers on while turning the wheel left. I’m glad I’m not the only one that does this!
You might piss your neighbors off every sunset lol and you'll be known as that crazy guy with the blow horn. Great video Marty. I didn't know how a horn was made.
That is so cool. I tend to go all the away around before addressing the actual problem, but I happen to learn a lot!! Thanis a lot for sharing, will be making my own pvc air horn!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
My dream. Living on a boat. So much more cost effective when weighed out compared to living in a house or apartment. And NO PROPERTY TAX. Awesome. Living the dream man, you're living the dream. Absolutely envious.
good video keep them coming I'm a local Fishman from Tampa Bay it's awesome seeing all the places you've fished that I've fished also! may your lines always be tight
Go to WalMart in the bike area and pick up a Zefal Little Big Air foot pump for abut $9 bucks or so. You can attach it to your horn and work it by hand or by foot. It is light weight and works like a champ for these DIY train horns. Stores away easy, too. Nice video, but I do wish you had listed the individual PVC parts for the horn here. Thanks for sharing.
Nice when u posted this on ur Facebook page I thought u were about to throw a party and start drinking thinking it was a funnel keep up the great work marty
its always a good idea to have a spare.and a manual spare to boot great vid im going to the hardware store to get the stuff to make one for football season lol
Hey zoffinger i was kayaking along the mangroves and i tossed a soft plastic behind me and i was trolling it did not take me long and i hooked up on a 23 inch red it was my first fish out of a kayak it was amazing and i love ur vids and u are may favorite youtuber
just discovered your videos while looking up stuff about kayaks cause im moving to clearwater soon from miami. love your videos. im on like my 5th video of yours now. great stuff.
Full circle... another great #zoffinger solid invention video. BTW.. that was too funny!! I thought OH NO, he's gonna do that... BAAM Gotcha glad you kept your reaction in the video!!
Marty, your horn trouble-shooting activity keeps your mind sharp for other challenges! I do similar things all the time ! It's fun!! Btw, I did not see you holding a cold Bud Light?? Stay thirsty my friend!!
Nice one Marty. Well done mate. As inventive as ever I see!! From the various channels I follow on here, covering all kinds of subjects, it would seem that both Lowes and Harbour Freight are not only seriously handy stores, but also more than fair with their pricing too. Sadly we have neither in the UK so I shall just sit back and quietly be jealous of you fellas on the other side of the ditch :)
Your brain is just awesome. That's all there is to it... Most people wouldn't even think of how to make one on their own and would have immediately went and bought new.
Put a 90* elbow on the long end and then attach about 10" of pipe and then the funnel. You can then strap it to the fishing crate so the long pipe points skyward and the horn points straight ahead. Just have the hose strategically placed close to the seat so you can sound off if you ever need to. Maybe instead of a 90* elbow you could use a T connector and close off the pass through section so it acts like a 90* elbow for air. Just make sure you close it off from inside the T, that way you can use the remaining section to attach a light source - giving you sound and visibility.
I just got a Freedom Hawk14 sit-on-top fishing kayak and it came without any seat whatsoever. I would like your recommendations for a comfortable, efficient add-on aftermarket seat that will give me great back support as well. I appreciate all I have learned from your DIY kayak videos and intend on following in your footsteps and I need to start with the right seat. I am BRAND NEW to kayak fishing so any tips and how-to's are always welcome. I am also an avid follower of your you-tube videos. I am in Portland, Oregon. Thanks in advance, Richard ( Bfloating1 )
"We" are content and happy for Marty in his evolution as it has about come so far, these videos are just chapters in his series of novels he must complete before it's all play and no work.
Hey. Wicked cool video. Yet again. Looks like the boat is heading in the right direction. Can't wait for the next quick boat update. Was wondering though, alot of your very cool DIY jobs are possible because of the nice range of tools you own. What will you do once you permanently live on your boat? Assuming you can't take all your tools with you hey?
I made one of those a few weeks ago with 1 inch PVC coming out and 1 1/4 the pvc T and it is loud I want to look it up to an air compressor but do not have one that is big enough
know it's hard for you but you should try to post videos more often. your my favorite TH-camr and it sucks I gotta wait a couple days I between videos someone a week. haha maybe I'm just greedy
Put an air compressor and tank in the engine room. Run an air line to the horn and put a pressure guage in the dash and then you can run some air tools or fill up inner tubes for some beach fun. tjl
Make a five chime air horn like the K5LA. It's much louder and guaranteed to get a result! I prefer the Raised Letter K5L, but do some research and find one you like!

You might piss your neighbors off every sunset lol and you'll be known as that crazy guy with the blow horn. Great video Marty. I didn't know how a horn was made.

YOUR CRAZY!!! THE NEXT TIME I SEE YOU ON THE WATER I HAVE TO MEET YOU!! YOUR TO FUNNY !!!!!!!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD SHOWS
Your ranger opens so nicely haha it takes me 10 or more seconds to wiggle my key to unlock it.
I love inexpensive workarounds. Thank you Marty.
Ha ha, nice work.
I like the consch shell idea at the end.
Beer, pizza and PVC, is there nothing they can not do? LOL Now we're talkin, good one Marty.

So unfortunately, no puns about tooting your own horn?! Cool project man 👍
just discovered your videos while looking up stuff about kayaks cause im moving to clearwater soon from miami. love your videos. im on like my 5th video of yours now. great stuff.

Now you have a backup signal device or the worlds biggest Kayak air horn!
so i learn the lesson from you , test every thing first , then buy
thanks marty
Your brain is just awesome. That's all there is to it... Most people wouldn't even think of how to make one on their own and would have immediately went and bought new.
The info is all over the internet...

your neighbors must love you
That’s a really cool horn
Fun and practical idea. Thank You.
Epic DIY man!
Thanks, bruddah.
love your videos man keep it up
That PVC *_shofar_* might not be Coast Guard approved: it could set off a tidal wave with that new compressor. :^)
You could use the pvc horn as a backup and attach a bellow to the hose.
It always great to have a back up .
Dude fires up the compressor in the kitchen savage level 1000
Love the back ground of Saying Goodbye to the Sun… palm trees
Love your creative nature!
that was a fun video , thanks for sharing
Great Video!
Love your video’s Marty
that sunset looks like it could be out in hawaii
I agree! That would make a great yak horn to drive off those pesky power boats.

That's a cool DIY! I'm putting that on my inflatable. I wonder if canned air will set it off?
Awesome were did you get your boat it's very nice good vid I hope to be seeing more
Well done. Others will learn from your mistakes.
I made one of those a few weeks ago with 1 inch PVC coming out and 1 1/4 the pvc T and it is loud I want to look it up to an air compressor but do not have one that is big enough
now you got a back up!
Fun stuff brother
very cool didn't know you could make your own Horn's you could use the pvc horn on your kayak know
if you swap out that oil funnel with a wider one it should make a deeper sound
know it's hard for you but you should try to post videos more often. your my favorite TH-camr and it sucks I gotta wait a couple days I between videos someone a week. haha maybe I'm just greedy
The larger the diaphragm, the lower the frequency? I might have to try with some 2" and see how that sounds.
What's the black wire you used to toot it
?
looks cool, will the plastic bag fail after a while though, I suppose theyre cheap
That was fun!
Put an air compressor and tank in the engine room. Run an air line to the horn and put a pressure guage in the dash and then you can run some air tools or fill up inner tubes for some beach fun. tjl
Cool idea
Tim Lipinski he can also use it to charge a potato gun to cast a fishing line out really far.

Buen trabajo, gracias por mostrarlo
More videos please. Love ya.
I'm thinking of making me one of these or maybe three at three different sounds together how did you change the sound of the trumpet horn.
Love it !!!!
Did you put some cover at the back of the horn or you just leave it expose the diaphragm?? nice work body!
which kayak do you like more the pelican strike 120 or the catch 120? @zoffinger
that Is soooooo cool I have got to try to make one
