My favourite bit was... "Yeeaahh..rubber glove!"
Also, thank you for helping me to fix my tap 😊

Second pair of glasses for your minds eye. Nice touch.

Nice bathroom, glad you could fix it yourself. Very satisfying!

Cheers. The bathroom was one of my bigger projects. I photographed it, no video, so I hope to put up a video slideshow about it.

Thanks for posting. Having watched your step by step instructional video I managed to remedy mine! Probably saved at least £100. A huge "Thanks" to you! I'll donate my saving to charity.

If I need to do it again I will try to get some close-ups.

one thing I do is leave the plug in sink, the plughole attracts screws like a magnet...

That's a very good tip. It's something I normally do although I do forget now and then.

Thanks for the nice video. I have a similar tap, hot water stopped flowing completely, however I have an issue unscrewing the last bit, it seems stuck. Do you have any ideas, please?

Hi Lucy, if you live in a hard water area trying some limescale remover can help if perhaps it is a scaled up. Some sort of penetrating oil like WD40 sprayed on and left to soak can also help, otherwise it's the careful application of a large amount of force being careful to support the tap/sink as necessary.
I have had the situation in the past where I have had to replace a tap because I could not fully disassemble it.
      Good luck!

Thank you, definitely some scale here! Actually as I was trying to pull the turning knob out to spray inside with wd40, it would not come out as I forgot to remove a little screw) however the pulling must done something to the tap as it started working again.

Hello, I'm from America, and - pardon me - but I can't make out half the words you're saying! LOL!

Oh dear. Is that an audio issue or my accent?

Like John Cleese once said, "Pardon me, but, but, but, I don't understand a word.... you're saying.."

@@TalesFromTheTinkerage Lovely English Plumber - Actually, I think it's your accent mate! 😦😔

Ahh. The only thing I can advise is for you to watch all of my videos. By the time you've done that you will hopefully understand what I'm saying. ;)

Try listening to the accents from Glasgow 😂

    what is the right position?

    • @TalesFromTheTinkerage
      @TalesFromTheTinkerage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

In the open position, so tap turned fully anti-clockwise, the washer mount should be as high as possible into the tap handle. The washers needs to be screwed as far as possible into the mechanism. The slow water flow is a result of the washer not lifting high enough.
      I hope that makes sense.

Great video, thank you. What I dislike about a certain minority of plumbers is, I work in retail and they drive all the way to the store to thieve! even just for an olive or two. I watch them and think I'm so glad I'm not you!

You really don't need to stare into the camera every time you say something, just keep doing what you are doing with the camera focused on the task at hand. Good luck.

    • @TalesFromTheTinkerage

As the disclaimer stated at the start, it's a small fully tiled bathroom, aka an audio engineers worst nightmare.

@@TalesFromTheTinkerage Take a look at the mic placement fella. Muffled...thats not the bathroom. Its facing down... All good. Keep up the helpful vids tho.. couldn't listen to this one without straining in parts...my hearing is 100% :)
