  • We had a wonderful weekend at Possum Kingdom State Park! Its prominently situated on the shores of Possum Kingdom Lake near Mineral Wells, Texas. In this video, we tour the 4 main areas of the park and show some highlights of the lake! The park has a boat ramp, several swim areas, picnic pavilions, clean bathroom facilities, and a dump station. One of the best things about the state park is the lake that it sits on! Possum Kingdom is a spectacular lake that hosts an annual cliff diving competition from its high cliffs and is a wonderful place for recreational water sports and even scuba diving!!

    First love the video!!! New subscriber just today with the notifications on!!!! We visited possum kingdom a month ago now and booked sites 104 and 105 we had 3 families with tents and those 2 sites had a lot of space as far as pitching tents and those two sites both had great access to the lake we took our kids down there and swam right off the campsites and there’s also enough room there to do a little fishing I caught 3 large mouth bass 1 stripper and 2 small mouth bass! We however did not rent a boat due to financial reasons we were trying to budget camp and succeeded very much so! Also we took the longest hiking trail on a Saturday morning and it was breathtakingly beautiful! Love yalls channel and I look forward to see your channel pop up in my notifications tab!!! BTW thank you for not having your music overly loud in the drone footage lol!

      Thank you for the kind words!! I was much more impressed with the tent camping sites on the Chaparral Trail loop than the RV sites! This is definitely a park that has better accommodations for tent campers in my opinion. It's a beautiful state park regardless though, and we enjoyed our stay. If you ever get a chance to venture out on the lake then we encourage you to do so! It's a shame to miss it! I've learned quite a bit in editing videos since I started this channel and I've made a concerted effort to keep the volume within reasonable limits. Some of my earlier videos did receive complaints about the volume. You live and learn. This is my first video with a drone and it was a challenge to no over do it with the drone footage! Also, thank you for subscribing! We are honored to have new subscribers like you!

    You guys just make the best videos! So enjoyable and since we live in NTX many of the parks you visit and review we get a chance to review them before we try to visit and the reviews of the site numbers is very helpful. My wife has been after me for ages to do Possum Kingdom and we will be doing it soon after this video.

    We’re about to do our first camping trip (in tent) in 30 YEARS at this state park, and since we’ve never been there this was very helpful in getting an idea of what to expect. We used to camp some when we were younger, but it’s been a long time so I’m a little nervous. I like the way you made it more about the park and not about you so much. Not that there’s anything wrong with you, but you know what I mean. 😁. Now on to your Palo Duro video for our next camping trip.

      I am so happy that you found this video to be helpful! That puts a smile on my face and its the reason that I make these videos! My focus isn't to make a personal vacation video and hope that people want to re-live my vacation but I try to make something that is primarily informative. Possum Kingdom is a better park for tent campers than it is for RVer's. I hope that you can get a spot somewhere on the lakeside of the Chaparral Trail loop!

    Thanks for sharing. We've camp there a couple of times and you're correct about the small camp sites. We only had a 20ft camper at the time many years ago, we've since upgraded to a 25ft travel trailer. I enjoyed your drone footage too. One other thing at the time that we were there, the potable water was a bit sulfur like smell to it. It was recommended that we don't drink the water at camp, we brought our own.

      This has become one of our favorite state parks in Texas! We would definitely recommend it! Yes, we went east on I 20. I don't remember the exact way that we got there but it seems like we went 16 north to 180 to 33. Thank you for watching!!

    Love PK, have several videos from there. We've stayed in cabins #2 and #4 and sites #100 and #101 as well as a couple of other spots but can't remember the site #'s. That drone footage looks great! If y'all get back over that way and go through Graham and like Mexican food, Mi Familia Méxican restaurant is really good. If you rather have bbq, might give Clayton BBQ a taste.
    Enjoyed your video very much. Thanks for sharing!

      Did you enjoy the cabins or sites better?

    • @DirtyShoesAdventures
      @DirtyShoesAdventures 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Adventureswithbecky depending on the weather. The cabins are a lot more convenient for sure but also more expensive. The one room cabins are $75 a night but it has two beds and room for a blow-up mattress or a couple of cots. Has a indoor bathroom and kitchen with a small dining table. They have a fireplace but we never used it. If you enjoy being outside though and do not need electricity, site 100 & 101 are pretty nice and not to far from the showers/bathroom.
