HAD 3 OF THOSE EXHAUSTS, FINALLY SETTLED ON SOLO'S AXLE BACK, BLACK POWDER COATED QUAD TIPS, LOOKS GREAT AND SOUNDS MEAN, LOW RUMBLE NO DRONE IN CAB, ADJUSTABLE TRUMPETS TO GIVE YOUR OWN PERSONAL SOUND.👍
4 months in how do you like it? More specifically, any drone?? I realize with my camaro the WORST drone would be in 6th gear driving about 80mph at 2000rpm. If i am driving the speed limit 65-70mph drone is actually not that bad and rpms are below 2000. I am talking about other exhausts i tried like blackwidow neighborhaters; i have NOT tried this mbrp setup yet.
That MBRP exhaust sounds nice! I ended up with the NPP exhaust. I took out the fuse to keep the valves from closing and deleted the secondary cats. It’s got a nice grunt at idle and cruise but @ WOT it rips!
Your "straight" pipes are not straight pipe. You never mentioned catalytic converters, which is where a TON of noise is muffled by. MBRP are similar to Corsa in sound with the difference that Corsa tests their entire system to maximize performance, MBRP makes stuff to be loud. You also never mentioned changing anything beyond the tips and muffler, which is a massive beginner mistake. Exhaust is the entire thing. You can look at diesel trucks with +6" tips from a 3" pipe. I prefer Borla as an exhaust note, but exhaust is preferential so I can't fault you for liking what you do. I will fault you for not knowing anything on your car and/or not knowing that there are things like headers, catalytic coverters, and x/y pipes. Straight pipe is one pipe without anything blocking it from one side of your engine to your exhaust tip.
Thanks for the video I have a 2SS non NPP cars were hard to get I wanted it but know I'm throwing on the quad tip diffuser and like you I am really picky and dont want to waste money on different exhausts I want a touch louder not to crazy where I get a headache from the loudness but I think this is going to be perfect with no drone
I have that as well, it was the only or at least 1st exhaust I came across that had 4.5" quad tips which I liked. It does drone a bit at about 65-70mph, though they say it doesn't so keep that in mind. The sound is also comparable to Borla which I had on another Camaro years ago. Can't really go wrong with any of the big name exhaust companies, but AWE is my favorite due to the tip size alone.
Late to the party here, but that's what I currently have installed on my 2023 ZL1 and I love it! Everything I was hoping it'd sound like and before install I had the tips powder coated gloss black to match the car. Looks and sounds great!🙌🙌👍👍
I have a Gen5 2011 Camaro SS with BBK 1 7/8 longtube headers catless into a 3 inch X pipe into 3 inch Flowmaster Flow FX mufflers to the back bumper car has a mellow performance sound from idle to 2800rpm not real loud from 3000rpm to 6600rpm it has a very clean crisp powerful exhaust note unlike Flowmaster one or two chamber raspy echo sound and it's very mild cruising the highway at 80mph at 2100-2200rpm it's slightly louder than stock not annoying can talk or hold a conversation and hear the radio got many compliments from spectators on how it sounded at the track in the burnout box and running the eighth mile my Flowmaster Flow FX mufflers are Oval case mufflers not the round case one's you had and with the longtube headers and these Flow FX mufflers my car is not as loud as your 6Gen with the last mufflers in the video the glass packs at the beginning would be closest to mine in sound at idle my car has single stainless tips
Do you get a lot of drone with these exhausts? What was it about the flowfx you hated the most? Also when you say glasspacks which brand are you talking about cherrybomb? or do they all sound the same?
The flow fx sounded extremely muffled, you’re better off keeping stock over flow fx. Cherry bomb is good! I forget what brand I had on my Camaro. I just went to a speed shop and took the glass packs they had on hand, sorry that I don’t remember!
I have a 2012 5th gen, stage 3 lsxceleration cam, complete dod delete,3200 stahl, long tubes, catless, with x pipe and borla ataks. It’s so freaking loud,do you think it would be to loud with mbrp on it. I have got to get it quieter! You can’t here yourself think in it,lol.
I believe you and I live local, out of curiosity where did you get your exhaust installed? I cannot find a shop who knows how to install a variable sound exhaust, I'm in Covina
I got the all the exhausts installed at a few different places. The one I went to most is called King Muffler. It’s in Van Nuys. They also had a bunch of universal mufflers in stock👌
Borla exhaust is the best, million mile warranty, test those and you will change your mind, I have a 2000 ws6 with Borla exhaust stainless rules mrmp rust in 3 years junk junk
Thank you! I got the spoiler on phastekperformance.com! I tried to find it but can’t. It’s on there somewhere though, it was around $300. Installed it myself in a few hours!
The MAIN reason ALL of these modern V-8 engines sound like crap from on idle i.e. "glug, glug, glug, glug, glug" to mid-throttle is the Variable Valve Technology system or VVT All of the modern 5.0,Ford 6.2 Chevy and 6.4 HEMI engines all have long duration, high lift cams but due to the "retardation" in the variable system they operate as glug glug "no cam" motors at idle through part throttle to cure emissions compliance, tuning and fuel consumption issues. So about the only time ANY of the various "performance mufflers" are going to "sound right" is during full throttle operation. Due to the VVT you will NEVER be able to eliminate the ugly "glug glug glug" sound, it's forever unless you change the VVT cam system
You said it perfect. That Camaro was still under warranty otherwise i would have put in a cam a while ago. Nothing beats a V8 with a cam, it’s the best sound ever to us gear heads.
I don't mean to be rude but every single exhaust that you have there just sound a terrible. I mean you bought something that was off the shelf and an exhaust shop makes no sense to me You need to purchase an exhaust system that was R&d for the car in other words of Borla attak or an S-Type with NPP or without. Kooks Corsa, stainless works or AWE. They all have products that are specifically tailored for the 6th gen Camaro If you have anything else on your car it makes no sense to me

Nice! If you can get all that with an exhaust system then you found the right one for sure.
do you got links to where you bought them
can you share the link to the site where this exhaust is?
My MBRP system comes tomorrow! I can not wait to bolt this in! Your video got me even more excited! Lol
Actually putting on right now

Does that mess up emissions with the secondary cats removed

How was your drone with fuse out? I’m thinking about this for my non-bop car but most of my driving is low rpm, drone-prone range
I think the npp quad tip exhaust is just perfect. 2016 2SS convertible.

didn’t mention headers or anything, bro may have an epiphany once he hears about tsp and kooks 2”.
I got the Corsa Variable Valved axleback, it's louder than stock. But, not loud enough for me. Does adding the X-Pipe section add more sound?
Yea that last one is best I still have stock but I definitely want more

I also run the MBRP 3” axle back, they sound awesome…. Great video and good advice…..
It’s a great exhaust! Thank you so much🙌
My 2022 stock quad tip npp is killer! Why would anyone spend a penny on something else? Seems like a waist$$$$
I totally agree! My LT1 sounds just fine for me!
If you do headers you might as well do it all.
To get louder idle with cam
You haven’t heard a corsa or Mbrp in person
I'm considering headers just because I want it louder (and more power). Probably will the exhaust stock npp though cuz it does sound great.
The awe track cat back sound so much better in my opinion, there’s a slight drone at 2k rpm’s but sounds so good
That's what I'm getting ready to grab, I've listened to several different ones and I feel the awe is the best
