I usually don’t comment on these matches but this should be seen by everyone who has been in a bad situation and felt like giving up. In BJJ or life in general.

Adam is always at the top but rarely gets the gold. I'm really happy to see him winning specially with a comeback like that
This is a Jiu Jitsu "Rocky" moment for sure. Wardzinski is a top black belt, but would always come up short in the majors against the top level Brazillian or American black belts.
When I saw this bracket, I knew the final would be Felipe vs. Adam and I expected the same outcome as earlier this year at Europeans.
As the matter of fact, it was going the same direction, but Adam channeled some savage inside of him and did something many thought he couldn't do. Just wow. I can't wait to see what he has in store at Worlds this year.
I wish he had this kind of comeback at Europeans, that place would absolutely explode.
Lucas Leite is a genius. Ability to motivate, keep his students calm, and keep himself calm enough to have the awareness to guide them to victory is unmatch. He was calling for the cross-collar like a mad man because he knew all Adam needed was an advantage to win. Genius.

Not only that but he was also calling for the pass straight to mount in 9:53 and then calling for Double-unders at 10:03. Right after that he starts yelling like a madman for the cross-collar to get the advantage. He had the path to victory in his mind at the second it presented itself. That was AWESOME!!!

I'd like to know what happened to the original guard pass score that appears to have been overturned for an advantage. It decided the match. I don't know which official/camera had the best angle, but the angle I saw looked like 3 points and the match.

I love that Adam has great and bad guard at the same time, but always ofensive. Bad because defense from butterfly and half are hard, but butterfly sweep is very powerful.
there are also a lot of positions you can switch to from the butterfly guard. but it's true that you can't stall, it's a guard that requires staying active. Adam is also well suited physically for playing this sort of guard, it fits his body type.

This is an amazing match. I am new to points and bjj in general. How did Felipe get 7 points for passing to mount at around 4:15? Similarly how did Adam go all the way up to 11? I feel like I’m missing 2 points each time I try to add up all of the interactions.
Passing guard directly to mount adds up to 7
3 for pass 4 for mount
guard pass (3 points) + mount (4 points) = 7 points. the remaining 4 points were from 2 sweeps each earning 2 points per sweep.
