This is a Jiu Jitsu "Rocky" moment for sure. Wardzinski is a top black belt, but would always come up short in the majors against the top level Brazillian or American black belts. When I saw this bracket, I knew the final would be Felipe vs. Adam and I expected the same outcome as earlier this year at Europeans. As the matter of fact, it was going the same direction, but Adam channeled some savage inside of him and did something many thought he couldn't do. Just wow. I can't wait to see what he has in store at Worlds this year. I wish he had this kind of comeback at Europeans, that place would absolutely explode.
I usually don’t comment on these matches but this should be seen by everyone who has been in a bad situation and felt like giving up. In BJJ or life in general.
yeah, i mean, if it's possible to fight back being 9 points down against someone like Felipe Andrew, then do i still have an excuse for giving up once Rufus Doofus gets ahead of me by 2 pts : )
Lucas Leite is a genius. Ability to motivate, keep his students calm, and keep himself calm enough to have the awareness to guide them to victory is unmatch. He was calling for the cross-collar like a mad man because he knew all Adam needed was an advantage to win. Genius.
Yep, exactly! Not only that but he was also calling for the pass straight to mount in 9:53 and then calling for Double-unders at 10:03. Right after that he starts yelling like a madman for the cross-collar to get the advantage. He had the path to victory in his mind at the second it presented itself. That was AWESOME!!!
Super surprised the referee gave Wardzinski the winning advantage, as Wardzinski is not Brazilian. This referee is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs!
If it wasn't for Lucas liete telling him to go for cross collar choke it would have come down to a tough decision. Thankfully he got the advantage on that sub attempt.
I'd like to know what happened to the original guard pass score that appears to have been overturned for an advantage. It decided the match. I don't know which official/camera had the best angle, but the angle I saw looked like 3 points and the match.
I love that Adam has great and bad guard at the same time, but always ofensive. Bad because defense from butterfly and half are hard, but butterfly sweep is very powerful.
there are also a lot of positions you can switch to from the butterfly guard. but it's true that you can't stall, it's a guard that requires staying active. Adam is also well suited physically for playing this sort of guard, it fits his body type.
This is an amazing match. I am new to points and bjj in general. How did Felipe get 7 points for passing to mount at around 4:15? Similarly how did Adam go all the way up to 11? I feel like I’m missing 2 points each time I try to add up all of the interactions.
A match for the ages. What an amazing comeback. Down on points, Adam didn't give up. Props and congratulations to Adam!
Adam is always at the top but rarely gets the gold. I'm really happy to see him winning specially with a comeback like that

That was some real Rocky shit... what a comeback! If you believe in yourself and refuse to give up, anything can happen! 🥋💪👍
Super surprised the referee gave Wardzinski the winning advantage, as Wardzinski is not Brazilian. This referee is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs!

True but in a tied match you gotta give it to the guy finishing match in mount.

I saw the fight against Roberto, He made Roberto look like a white belt
I don’t watch bjj much I’m a wrestler but is there no overtime? Or why did the guy win after having the same score as the other?
Lucas Leite: 🙇🏽♂️🙇🏽♂️🙆🏽🙋🏽♂️🙆🏽🙋🏽♂️
Has to sting to lose that way. Gotta love the fight in Adam though. Good stuff.
Danaher just chillen in the background
Was this in Florida
Oss 🤙🏿
Great start from Felipe , greater finish from Adam. Super match
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
🎉🎉
I was cheering for Adam and the comeback was amazing, but why didn’t Felipe get an advantage for coming up on the double guard pull?

Wow

Passing guard directly to mount adds up to 7
3 for pass 4 for mount
guard pass (3 points) + mount (4 points) = 7 points. the remaining 4 points were from 2 sweeps each earning 2 points per sweep.
Thanks for the input all!
Passing you get 3 pts and mount position you get 4 pts, if I am correct.
