    Fall asleep? No way, one of your best videos. Interesting, informative, educational. You are a natural behind the camera. You take the time to learn what you can about the product and company before going in. This leads to a great interview. Super cool that you're buying one. Congrats!

      You’re too kind Leon. Only thing that would’ve made the video better was some aerial drone shots courtesy of Captain Leon :-)

      @@jiggingjerks Agreed, aerial photography adds another dimension making it more visually interesting. Just picked up a smaller travel drone for easier use while boating. Unlike you I'm not a real Captain, I just play one on TH-cam...lol.

    I came very close last year to building one. Dave is a great guy, I know you’ll love yours, I wanted a true walk around with no step and the cat design just could not work. That 1.8 mpg at 30+ is mind boggling that’s going to help you chartering.

  • @FT86TT

    Been following this boat for almost 2 years now and have read every single post on it from THT and many others. This 3000 Horizon is the best bang for your buck bar none! Aussies know their and cats very well and I'm glad Dave brought their mold here! Did you know there is an optional 600 Gal fuel tank? What other 30 ft boat has this fuel capacity? This thing is a tank. Congrats and catch your tile fish and warsaw grouper deep dropping in 2022!

    • @jiggingjerks
      @jiggingjerks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Always a tougher sell in a Cat as in a traditional CC set up, the console is small. Easier to set up on a DC or Express where you can tuck a head over one of the sponsons. My rig will be 100% fishing so not a concern for me but I totally get your point....

  • @2thelight
    @2thelight 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have been looking at cats for a while, really like the arrowcat 32, the one issue that no one ever talks about is the hull design? asymmetrical or symmetrical? I am buying a cat for a soft ride in heavy seas, dont care about speed, the asymmetrical racing cats go really fast but a hard ride so you might as well have a mono. The hulls on the eastward look fairly sharp but dont seem as sharp as a glacier bay, what do you think.

    • @jiggingjerks
      @jiggingjerks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glacier Bay is more of a displacement Hull so will naturally ride better than a planing Hull in rough seas. Eastward is planing. Both Will right better than a comparable
      Mono in a head sea. GB will be slower for sure but more of her Hull will be in the water

    did anyone notice at 2:40 how saltwater is literally spraying on the motor cowling? and they are in calm seas. I own one of these boats and this is a HUGE problem. your motors will have rust issues FAST. water should never be spraying/splashing on the cowlings of the motors. the design is flawed and needs to be fixed. not sure how but it needs to be fixed. in ANY rough seas the motors get swamped by saltwater. it also sprays water on the deck in rough seas and on any rods in the rear rod holders. sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Dave is not a bad guy but this is a HUGE issues.

    • @scottgurney2659
      @scottgurney2659 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jiggingjerks I've owned 6 CCs 36 contender to 39, pathfinder, freeman, etc. this boat is the worst boat I have ever owned. the motors take on HUGE amounts of water (swamped) in any real sea. terrible design or wrong outboard bracket. prob meant for inboards ONLY. radio antennas were mounted OUTSIDE the outriggers so u have to put down antennas to put outriggers in/out?! outriggers mounted on wrong sides on top of that!!! not kidding. I fixed them. left with a dozen patched holes in the roof... driving the boat the angle the screens sit you cant see them great. not sure who tested that... ride is decent but WET in any head sea. gas milage is solid but for a 30ft boat is average. if quartering your rods gear will be crushed by saltwater spray. I have NO reason to make this up. last issue that comes to mind is every screw in the pilothouse holding the widows in fell out. yep. Dave did pay to have someone come out and fix the screws. people should TEST THIS BOAT IN REAL WATER conditions before buying and note the things above. I NEVER tested the boat. so its MY FAULT...

    • @jiggingjerks
