    Thank you for posting this. I just completed the install with an OEM fog light switch from the junk yard today. Your wiring helped me so much when it came to the OEM switch.

    I opted to use the thinner trigger wire(red) and tied it to my marker/parking lights, that way they only turn on when my markers, or headlights are on.

      @kaimanson3174  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that's a good idea as well. I just wanted to be able to use it independently regardless if the lights were on or not. But hey, thanks for sharing 👍

    10amp fuse? And what is the blue wire you ran through the grommet? Did you cut and splice the switch harness?

    • @kaimanson3174
      @kaimanson3174  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Correct, 10amp fuse. The blue wire is for the switch. The switch harness was not splice, instead converted to the OEM.

      @@kaimanson3174 Hmm, my fog light kit must be different then. Came in the same box, but I don’t have that blue wire leading to the switch harness with a disconnect point. I’d have to run the harness connector the whole way, which means I’ll probably have to cut it off and solder it back on inside.

      @@DanSwensonVideos try first to lay down the wire harness like I did on the beginning to understand the layout. Once everything is connected and lights up. Then go with the installation.

      @@kaimanson3174 My kit was def different. The switch wiring that went into the cabin was not detachable, I had to cut off the harness and solder it back on after running the wires. I also only had power to connect inside, no ground. I used the after market switch it came with, it fits in the cluster with the slider door switches. It’s not perfect, but that OEM switch AND harness connector is tough to find. I’ll keep looking. Your vid was awesome for showing me how to get the wire inside, so many thanks for that. 🤙🏻

    Do the fog lights turn off on High beam or are they on all the time? Great video

    • @kaimanson3174
      @kaimanson3174  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They work independently from low or high beam. Lights can be turn on/off via the dashboard button or if on....then they will go off once the car go off (acc).

    Great video. I had to laugh at the 'Useless Instructions'. So true. Where did you pick-up the OEM switch and harness?

    • @kaimanson3174
      @kaimanson3174  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      True brother, those instructions I don't think can't even be used to light up some charcoal. I got it at my local LKQ, yesterday I was able to get the actual OEM fog lights switch from a 05 Ody. The one I used for the video is the on/off switch for the parking sensor, which works perfectly as a on/off for the fog lights as well, can be easily found in a touring ody.

      I believe I got mine from eBay. There are quite a few aftermarket kits online (ebay, amazon). Each can come with different wire colors or switches.

      @@maxwellgudiel8533 do what I did at the beginning of the video, test all the connections out before starting the installation. Once you confirm that everything works. Then it is just a matter of running the wires.
