Hye, we also live and CC on our NB, I've gone through a couple of cheaper options of Internet and have summed up that the teltonika rutx50 is the router to go for, slightly different choice of aerial I'm opting for the poynting 3-v2-17. Ive fabricated a bracket mounted on the front bulkhead which takes an extendable painters poll, just raise it when we moor and lower for travel. Id be interested to know how you found latency speeds and download/upload speeds on your new set up on the boat?? Id be interested to speak further about your set up before i spend the £850 on similar.
I’ve not found issues yet but TBH not used it in anger. I did look at that antenna, but decided as a roof mount, it would not work. Glad you made a bracket. I think there are so many variables on signal performance, you’ll never solve it fully.
@@messinaboutwithanarrowboat have to agree on variations, I just got fed up spending £50 here, £100 there. Lot of research dinner on the teltonika rutx50 especially in Aus. Its been out for a few years and I decided to go for it this year, been waiting to see if they upgraded it to wifi6, I've emailed them to ask, although the difference on the nb will be marginal
Another excellent video!
Thanks. Hope you found it helpful
Thanks Colin for another informative and helpful video. Safe travels
Thanks 👍

Thanks Colin for a most informative vlog on the RUTx50. Would you happen to have a good link for the 12v power cable? Many thanks James
Thanks. Try www.solwise.co.uk/Teltonika-Sundries for the bare wire power cable TL-2x2PWRLEAD. They have a car lead too.
The RUTC50 is out July 2024 - this unit but with WiFi 6!
