Ed even hired actors to fake ghost photo's and videos so he could pass them off as real cases and write successful books about them. They even tried to pass themselves off as respectable lifelong partners in a loving relationship when they were anything but, Ed had been cheating on Lorraine for years, he was a real piece of work. I still enjoy movies like the Conjuring universe films and The Amityville horror and other such stuff but I know that they're absolute trash and contain almost not truth in them whatsoever. Most of the cases they claim to have been a part of have since been completely debunked (including the photo in the Amityville house that you showed), so you have to take the stories with a fantastical pinch of salt. It's just a shame that a lot of peoples introduction to this couple were films like The Conjuring and really do believe that these 2 were a genuine paranormal powerhouse. The son killed the family along with his sister who killed the children and the brother who killed the parents didn't want to kill the kid's so he killed her also after he found out what she did. The father was a small time gangster and his son was a drug addict drunk who didn't get along with the father or mother they rode him about working and paying bills all the time and the father drank all the time also so they fought a lot. The whole demon thing came about because the son said that he hated his dad so much he felt as though he had the devil in him, the media got ahold of this and it got big stories when it was a false story to begin with. In comes Ed and his wife and they go to the house and act like it's haunted and use their credibility to be able to contribute to the book about the house and the people who bought the house were cut in for a big chunk of the cash that they never got but the Warrens cleaned up. It's all fake, demons do not exist unless somehow they are beings from another dimension that have found a way of getting through and if thats the case then they are of a higher species in technology then we are and it seems pretty useless to find out how to cross dimensions and use it to scare people in the lower dimension or kill them. I think Demons are the creation of early man who had no way of explaining things around them so they came up with these scary gods to keep the people who weren't afraid of the tribal laws and raped and killed when they felt like it, they told them that they had a connection to this being that has constant surveillance ability even in your mind and is willing to punish people who don't follow tribal law which became gods law. The warrens are con job's and because they got into it before the whole trend started by following a lot of the 19th century's supernatural trickery and cold reading mixed with modern day media to make a bunch of money and they gained a lot of followers that actually believed them and still do today after they are dead I wonder if anyone claims to have spoken to their spirit's LOL. They have never been in danger for a single moment and they paid off so many people to act like they were possessed by devil's. The 70's after the Exorcist they hit it big because they rode the trend of horror culture back then. Total rip off's. They even did the book about the Devil boy who stabbed a guy to death and claimed it was demonic possession that made him do it, the family got 4500.00 for the book and the Warrens got 81 grand from it and they told total lies about the case they told the writer to make it scary because that's what people come to us for. The guy by the way who the Warrens clung onto to convince that demonic possession was a good defense went to prison for manslaughter for 20 years becuase the judge said it's not scientific and can't be used in court so they left him high and dry but kept on the family so they could write the book. God they sucked.
The Smurl story was made into a tv movie in 1991. I watched it when it aired and it scared the ever loving BLEEP outta!!! The worst scene was the sexual assault on the father/husband Jack. That was some traumatizing stuff that stayed with me for decades lol

Yeah, the Amity Story bothers me, so I can understand why they feared the house. Maybe a story on the house's history because a home with such energy is problematic.
Before the DeFeo event, there was no "history" of the property. Neither long-term neighbors nor the Amityville Historical Society were aware of anything remarkable. I also think it quite notable that after the Lutz's no other residents ever reported any paranormal incidents.
I watched the first Conjuring movie along with The Devil Made Me Do It. Liked them. Definitely want to check out the other movies, it’s neat that the films are based on actual people and some real cases. In the first movie Ed said he didn’t believe in ghosts but demons were responsible for the scary events happening in the first movie. Interesting and crazy stuff.
When I was growing up, my mom had at least 4 Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that she loved so much we weren't allowed to handle them too much so they wouldn't tear. And I loved them almost as much as her so I was always gentle with them when she let us play with them (as careful as a small child could be, anyway) so after I was an adult and the movie Annabelle had been out for about a year, I did a little research about the Warrens, who I had known some about for a decade already, and I learned the real Annabelle was a Raggedy Anne doll and I had to tell my mom about it lol because I'm obsessed with the paranormal. I was flabbergasted when I thought about an adorable ragdoll being possessed! Especially since I grew up with them! Now I wanna see if she still has those dolls just for nostalgia sake lol

The Smurl story was made into a tv movie in 1991. I watched it when it aired and it scared the ever loving BLEEP outta!!! The worst scene was the sexual assault on the father/husband Jack. That was some traumatizing stuff that stayed with me for decades lol

My best friend and her family bought a house a couple of years ago and she said one morning around 3 am she said she felt a presense in her home and smelled something burning and tried to find out where the smell was coming from but couldnt find anything. I told her ummm...you might need a blessing on your house because Burning Smell, A malevolent presense, and it being 3 am is when evil is at its strongest!

Before the DeFeo event, there was no "history" of the property. Neither long-term neighbors nor the Amityville Historical Society were aware of anything remarkable.
I also think it quite notable that after the Lutz's no other residents ever reported any paranormal incidents.

I watched the first Conjuring movie along with The Devil Made Me Do It. Liked them. Definitely want to check out the other movies, it’s neat that the films are based on actual people and some real cases. In the first movie Ed said he didn’t believe in ghosts but demons were responsible for the scary events happening in the first movie. Interesting and crazy stuff.

I still have my Raggedy Anne and Andy dolls. They are over 45 years old and I cherish them. That doll gave the themed dolls a bad wrap. 😢
When I was growing up, my mom had at least 4 Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that she loved so much we weren't allowed to handle them too much so they wouldn't tear. And I loved them almost as much as her so I was always gentle with them when she let us play with them (as careful as a small child could be, anyway) so after I was an adult and the movie Annabelle had been out for about a year, I did a little research about the Warrens, who I had known some about for a decade already, and I learned the real Annabelle was a Raggedy Anne doll and I had to tell my mom about it lol because I'm obsessed with the paranormal. I was flabbergasted when I thought about an adorable ragdoll being possessed! Especially since I grew up with them! Now I wanna see if she still has those dolls just for nostalgia sake lol

It was so disgusting for what they did to these people..

Even though I think lowly of the Warrens, I was always intrigued by The Smurl Haunting. I think it should’ve been part of The Conjuring movie franchise.

Apparantly ed would go into homes uninvited and one time he got punched by the owner of the conjuring house. He was allegedly abusive too with lorraine and their daughter.
