    Put on the back of the aquarium job done ! If not replace the the rubber circle on bottom of dry side pump for a double sticky sided piece of thick tape obviously thick durable double sided tape and you won’t need the plastic things, ive done it it works perfectly

    Why reef crest mode? It says that it’s best for SPS, but why not tidal swell or lagoon mode for beginners?

    I stumbled on the powering off the pump to reattach the wet side tip after several frustrating minutes of trying to get the two to attach lol

    A huge miss on these pumps is that no one talks about scheduling. I may have to do a video on it lol.
    These pumps along with the app can allow your aquarium to mimic a real reef; with low and high tides. Even kick your pumps up a notch at night to so all that uneaten food and waste can be washed down the overflow.
    I also don't use feed mode because for two hours a day my MP10s are on constant mode at a very low setting, I feed during this time.
    Also my fish seem to love having the different flow patterns through out the day.

    My question is, I just bought a 50 gallon and want to know if I should get one mp40 or 2 mp10s. I have had a lot of people say one mp40 because of the versatility and room for me to upgrade tanks later. What are your honest thoughts? Thanks in advance!

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two MP10s would be a better fit for the average 50 gallon system so that all of your flow isn't coming from one pump. This will allow you to hit some more targeted areas and reduce dead spots. Just keep in mind that the MP10's have a max glass thickness of 0.375"

    The battery backup only support Ecotech stuff, which is missing the heater. If we would need a backup for heater anyway, can we just use a general litheium ion backup battery pack ?

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unless they're very large, batteries aren't great for backing up a heater due to the high power draw. If you want to back up your heater, a generator is a great option. That said, most power outages are short and flow is the most crucial if it's just a few hour outage.

    They need to sell the ceramic tube that goes on the shaft for the vortex 10. I have three wet sides with broken ones.

    Q. Is a Reef octopus 1000 HOB skimmer too much for a 38gal fish tank. Tank is passed a year old. One coral and it won’t grow

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With a low bioload, you'll probably be disappointed by going with this large of a skimmer. You'll likely be much happier with a smaller, more appropriately sized skimmer.

    Still don’t understand why people want these warts sticking out of their tank. I get it for large tanks but it’s funny how many nano tanks have this crap off to the side lol AI Nero all the way for nano tanks.

      Less heat in the water, no cords or electrics in the water so no chance of electric shock to yourself or inhabitance, when cleaning zero down time and no need to disconnect wires or plugs if there not long enough clean a wired pump, just pop a spare wetside on and clean used one, no cords under water going brittle and hard, the list goes on, only reason for a Nero would be price point and you can slightly aim the flow.

      @@gewglesux I "assume" that your trying to be some kind of jackass. I own several Vortechs and have for years. That being said, I have plenty of experience with the products, IME they are overpriced for what they are, just like LED lights.
