    As a youngster in the early 1990s, who had just started my job in Mumbai, I would have dinner at traditional Marathi joints in Thakurdwar before taking a train to my apartment in Virar.
    Every evening as I would walk through the backlanes of Girgaum, away from the hustle and bustle, the sounds of chirping birds and ofcourse Rag Yaman would transport my soul to a very different place which was so peaceful and blissful.
    This video brings back those memories, when life was good, I was a carefree young man.

      It is a standard practice to refer to people you do not know personally by their surname. Also followed in the workplace. Rather, referring to someone by their first name alone can be construed as being rude but even that is standard practice when you are very fond of the person or if they are a historical entity (e.g. Akbar/Ashoka and not Shri Akbar/Ashoka ji). Also, not all musicians like being called 'Pandit ji'. It seems Bhimsen Joshi wasn't too fond of being referred to thus. What should matter is appreciation for Art, not how many 'Pandit' or 'Shri' or 'Dr.' or 'ji' or 'Khansaheb' type prefixes and suffixes you can add to a name.

      @@FarhanAmin1994 It is out of love and respect one may call like you call Mansur. It is height of sublime feeling. A comment below says "now I do not care death".

    Absolute command over Sur and taal and gaiety were his prowess. Always a pleasure to listen to Pandit Mallikarjun Mansoorji.

    Panditji's voice is so conducive to convey the bhava. Soulful. As evening shadows lengthen it takes you to a journey to an unknown destination.

    So nice to listen to a relaxed elaboration of Yaman Kalyan by Mansur ji! Any idea who’s accompanying him - especially who’s giving vocal support? 😊

    • @coolfix948
      @coolfix948 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most probably his son Rajshekhar Mansoor who sings just like his fatherv, just his voice is more nasalish.

      @@coolfix948 It's definitely not Rajshekhar ji... I recognise his voice very clearly. Could be Panchaksharibua, if my guess is right.
