I listened to it for a while, then got up, brushed my teeth and went down the stairs, and the same song was still playing! I was amazed, and the melody got engraved to my brain. It was, obviously, Age of Shadows, and the beginning of my journey with Ayreon. Hearing this one is always special!
That’s so awesome. My kids were small when I’d be watching/listening to Ayreon, either in the living room or on long road trips. Always nice to find more brazilian fans. I listen to Ayreon and other Arjen projects for the last 24 years and I am still amazed. The Live performances are so great!
Had no clue about Arjen and his music until 5 or so years ago. Not a day goes by I don't listen to his brilliance. Easily in my top 3 these days. So thankful to have learned of him. Sure hope to see a show someday!!
My goosebumps are still getting goosebumps.... This was one of the best concerts I have attended, if not the best, and I have attended a lot of great concerts, like Pink Floyd, Kansas, Stones, Maiden....

Oh god! Qué recuerdos!!!!!! One of my favorite song of this album is "We are forever" and I was almost crying when that part came to the stage. I snatched up a VIP ticket for the price of a normal one. I even saw people - giving - away their ticket QR codes in the Ayreon Facebook chats. It was insane (and awesome)
This album has been the background of important moments of my life since I first heard it back in 2009. It was my first contact with Arjen work and it took my imagination to beautiful places. I really felt like wanting to see what planet Y looked like, dive deep into the lore of it's people. It inspired my own music, and still is a warm place to go in uncertain times. Thank you, Arjen, for bringing this piece of art to life. You made the improved version of the Dream Sequencer, that allow the listener to trully experience the history and emotions of a people long gone, a dark future, and so much more. Watching this show made me crumble into tears (specially on the parts that were originally sang by Steve Lee. That ending for The Sixth Extinction hit me so hard I watched it everyday for weeks). Keep spreading the warning, Ayreon. The final experiment is not over yet.

Brittney Slayes is truly insane - I knew she could do opera (her duet of the operatic piece Brindisi with Ty Christian of the criminally underrated band Lords of the Trident is amazing, from the both of them!) but she just doesn't miss! If you haven't seen that... I'd *warmly* recommend it. And Arjen - if you ever need an amazing vocalist for your ever-growing, star-crowded, lineup... Ty would fit that bill 100%. And *everyone* on that stage is phenomenal and then some, I got goosebumps, tears and my jaw is on the floor!
I was looking at that wondering who does all that stage design, and the graphics and the animation, and the lighting and the costumes, and the 'stagecraft' (I'm not sure what the right word for the movements is). There is an awful lot of stuff to do to get this remarkable overall effect.
@@MrKaraokeguy88 He is Toehider or well the musical half of Toehider, it is a bit of an unusual band. Mike plays all the instruments and does the vocals and Salty does all of the artwork for Toehider but he is also considered a bandmember.
The Age of Shadows has begun, giant machines blot out our video. After watching the blu-ray this is an eyesore. But heck, the music is still the greatest! Love seeing Mike have so much fun when he's not limited on stage by carrying a guitar.
Why would they upload the full concert in bluray quality to watch for free on youtube? Usually it's just the audio. It's awesome they added any video footage at all and they added the frame (pun intended) to prevent people from just outright downloading it.
@@FongoOngo I've never seen this done. People either publish full quality or not at all. Publishing what is essentially marketing material in deliberately diminished quality is interesting. I'd be curious to know what it does to sales. I guess demo versions exist in the video game sphere which would be the closest analog I can think of.

What a beggining for the best show of my life… I already saw the entire blue ray 4 times (i have to be quiet in Home for that) but I have the live music ok repeat all day… I can remember the gestores of the singers in each part (I was there in 5 of 6 shows)… I love it and I have the ultimate prize of being there in the video…
Awesome! So been wanting to hear the FULL version of this song live and was disappointed when the whole Forever We Die section was skipped over entirely in Ayreon Universe. But this makes up for it! I do feel the need to mention however that whoever was the editor was pushing the slo-mo button a bit too much for the video lol. Some of the cuts you could tell it was obvious that they were cutting to and from two completely different moments in time. Was starting to take me out of it. 😉 I hope the whole show isn't like that on DVD/Bluray. But even if so, it's Ayreon and I'll enjoy it regardless. Just a bit of a nuisance is all. Once or twice here and there is okay, but every 30 seconds was becoming a bit much. I was very aware that I was missing actual video content and would rather see everything live as it happens as much as possible! ❤ Ayreon!

Vervolgens een adembenemende roller coaster van een show. En tot slot is het ook nog eens gelukt om de speciaal door mijn broer ontworpen LUL-shirts voor Joost en jou via Jeroen en Frank backstage te krijgen. Geweldig! Dank je wel voor deze prachtige dag!!!! Voor iedereen die het nog niet heeft gedaan: bestel de lp's, dvd's of bluray. Geweldig als herinnering als je erbij bent geweest en een fantastische belevenis als je het concert hebt moeten missen.

kudos to the sound crew, to those who captured the raw vocals, and to the mixers/masterer-er-ers. Sonically, this is beautiful. .... and the performances are for the ages. VIVA La doublare vocale - - ( sorry, in Canada, bilinguality is mandated ) Brittney has got to be the bestest-everer choice for filling-in-shoes-that-cannot-be-filled. And on a non-Ayreon-note: - - I hope this opens many doors and creative outlets for all in UTA... they are so much more than 'just a power metal band.'
@@ArjenALucassen Bravo. Sometime, it would be fun to hear the separate vocal tracks in a complex/multi-singer section of one of these songs. Personally, I would love to hear the backing part sung by Jonas Renske in the call/response portion of The Sixth Extinction, where he accompanies Brittney. Jonas looks so invested in that part, and it seems like a very different style from his solo vocals in most of the other songs. If there wasn't that certain scene-stealer up front with her mezzo-soprano, stage-filling belt ... (lol: thank you, gods of metal, for giving us Brit) There must have been a reason for the video editing highlighting Jonas during those moments... but in the moment, my Funnel-Beaker-Culture-brain cannot get past the Canadian's vocal contribution.

I just got this CD/DVD 2 days ago and i am blown away. The talent on this stage is top notch, the production is fantastic! Arjen is a great modern composer!!!

I don’t know why, some of your music doesn’t always show up in my notifications beforehand, but I guess that’s okay because whenever I do see the song from you come up Arjen (in this case today for this song), it always makes my day 😊 I can’t help but look forward to your music because it is always seriously both a work of art and a creative masterpiece, and it’s also just so inspiring to see how you have brought people together to share a celebration of the joy of music, their passion and love for the music shows so clearly! It’s always just so beautiful 🤗 Btw, don’t know where I have been (under a rock I guess haha!) but I somehow had no idea or maybe forgotten Brittany was classically trained (?)?? I was just like, wow, dang, her classical voice is incredible and so beautiful too, it was just so unexpected because all the music I have seen her do has apparently been her slaying, and doing her heavier style of music, showing her incredible range… ☺️ A pleasant surprise to hear the other side of her voice!!

An angel fell from the sky and started singing. Everyone is allowed to have a favorite singer. In my case it is Anneke. All the other lady singers are fantastic, don't get me wrong. But Anneke has something special i can't put my finger on. Well, she looks like an angel and sings like an angel. ❤

Arjen, dank je wel voor het uploaden!!! Mijn broer en ik waren er zaterdagmiddag bij. Wat een fantastisch avontuur. Begon al toen we moesten zoeken waar we in de rij konden aansluiten. Ik geloof dat we bijna anderhalve kilometer hebben gelopen. Als cadeautje kwam Damian langs de rij lopen en deelde high fives uit om de moed erin te houden. Vervolgens een adembenemende roller coaster van een show. En tot slot is het ook nog eens gelukt om de speciaal door mijn broer ontworpen LUL-shirts voor Joost en jou via Jeroen en Frank backstage te krijgen. Geweldig! Dank je wel voor deze prachtige dag!!!! Voor iedereen die het nog niet heeft gedaan: bestel de lp's, dvd's of bluray. Geweldig als herinnering als je erbij bent geweest en een fantastische belevenis als je het concert hebt moeten missen.

Sometime, it would be fun to hear the separate vocal tracks in a complex/multi-singer section of one of these songs. Personally, I would love to hear the backing part sung by Jonas Renske in the call/response portion of The Sixth Extinction, where he accompanies Brittney. Jonas looks so invested in that part, and it seems like a very different style from his solo vocals in most of the other songs. If there wasn't that certain scene-stealer up front with her mezzo-soprano, stage-filling belt ... (lol: thank you, gods of metal, for giving us Brit) There must have been a reason for the video editing highlighting Jonas during those moments... but in the moment, my Funnel-Beaker-Culture-brain cannot get past the Canadian's vocal contribution.
Mr Arjen, You have created a new genre! In all of your compositions. This is what Jazz tried, what rock strives to and what Metal admires and respects. Jy is awesome!
I just got this CD/DVD 2 days ago and i am blown away. The talent on this stage is top notch, the production is fantastic! Arjen is a great modern composer!!!

I don’t know why, some of your music doesn’t always show up in my notifications beforehand, but I guess that’s okay because whenever I do see the song from you come up Arjen (in this case today for this song), it always makes my day 😊 I can’t help but look forward to your music because it is always seriously both a work of art and a creative masterpiece, and it’s also just so inspiring to see how you have brought people together to share a celebration of the joy of music, their passion and love for the music shows so clearly! It’s always just so beautiful 🤗
Btw, don’t know where I have been (under a rock I guess haha!) but I somehow had no idea or maybe forgotten Brittany was classically trained (?)?? I was just like, wow, dang, her classical voice is incredible and so beautiful too, it was just so unexpected because all the music I have seen her do has apparently been her slaying, and doing her heavier style of music, showing her incredible range… ☺️ A pleasant surprise to hear the other side of her voice!!
