I am really enjoying your videos. They are not only informative but inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talents to bring these videos to your subscribers. Happy quilting…………..
I look forward to your video updates! Great progress. Beautiful quilts. I love how you organize your patterns and blocks in sleeves & binders. I’m going to try that. Thank you for taking the time to share your creations with us!
I always look forward to your videos and newsletter. You have such a kind and gentle way about you. I, too, am a longarmer, but my machine is not computerized. Love the quilting you choose for the quilts that you longarm. I, always, have a hard time choosing the quilting pattern. I have only about 15 pantographs. I,also, do some freehand quilting, but not custom. I love to see the projects you work on, too. You do great work. I have been quilting for over 45 years, but always learn something new from other quilters. Thank you for your videos. You inspired me to start my spools quilt. I have the pattern, but have not yet started. ❤
LOVE those paper clips, thanks for sharing all your projects, so fun! Quits of Valor is so special, thank you for sharing and reminding us of their sacrifices.
Love the quilts your working on. Also when you talk about things you do at your quilt guild, it gives me ideas to try at my Machine quilters Guild. Thanks for sharing!
Love your quilt of valor. I esp like your demeanor and the instructions you provide. Always look forward to your videos, quilting n cross stitching. Have a Blessed week and Happy Stitching!
Great video, recently found you so I am also “catching up” on your prior videos. Really like your spool blocks. I have the pattern but haven’t started yet. Have a good week!
You inspired me to buy some brown fabric yesterday while at a quilt shop and try making spools! I have the pattern book and leftover fabric from Lori Holt’s Flea Market Flowers appliqué quilt so will give it a try. I’ll never do appliqué any other way! Barbara
I just love Lori Holt. Still working on Prairie Meadow. I intend to finish this one before starting the garden one. I'm not doing the spools but may at some point. I am also participating in Laundry Basket monthly sew along from her book Season in Blue. Along with two embroidery projects and two started wool projects. I have blocks ready to be stitched for the more wool projects but haven't started stitching yet. I am interested in the book to track your quilting. Thank you for sharing. Love your quilting.
Always enjoy your videos! QUESTION: Are you planning to keep the same shade of brown for all your spools for "Scrappy Spools"? I am trying to use up as many scraps as I can in mine, but found I have a lot of brown, but they vary from light to dark, so I am trying to blend in a variety. Just wondering what you plan to do. Really love the fabrics you have used so far. I am in awe of how organized you are for Lori's QA!
Hi Letitia! I apologize for taking so long to respond, but we have been out of town for a few days. The scraps that I have seem to be very similar in tone. I have a couple that are a little lighter and a couple that are a little darker, but no HUGE differences.
Your work is so very pretty Tammie! I have never done a Lori quilt, but I will be with Homefront? or something like that.. After seeing your work I am more excited to start mine. Are all the applique pieces turn edge? Is there any raw edge? As a retired teacher, I am a Huge binder person.... thank you for your organizational tips! I will certainly follow your lead. Not sure you are aware, but Sherri has a monthly youtube video to go along with her planner as well as Quarterly. I used that planner last year and am still using all but the calendar this year. Enjoy yours!
Hi Kathy! Thanks for watching! All of Lori's applique is turned but different than anyone else's. You trace the Sew Simple Shape onto the interfacing and stitch the interfacting to the right side of the fabric. Then you slit the interfacing and turn the piece so that the right side of the fabric is facing out. In many respects, this is easier than needle turn applique but a little more time consuming than raw edge. Also, I watched every one of Sherri's videos last year! I loved them! She is such a student of time management and efficiency. I have learned so much from her!
Hi Carlene! I'm using an open toe foot so that I can see exactly where my needle is going. Here is a link to a video I made about how I machine applique using Monofilament thread. mailchi.mp/ee9657b280f5/machine-applique-video

Love the forget me not block! May I ask what brand invisible thread are you using...and what stitch on your machine? That quilt is sooo adorable.
I'm using Monopoly. Here is a link to a video I filmed about how to applique with Monofilament thread.

Hello Tammie! What presser foot do you use for the machine appliqué?
